This company performed the following repairs to my 2001 *****. Replaced all brake lines and brake pads and abs sensor. I paid them $1700, and I was given a 2 year warranty foe this work. However after two months I noticed the brakes not working properly and that they were leaking barke fluid onto my driveway. I replaced the fluid and called Emilo the manager and he again stayed they would warranty their repairs. I asked if he could recommend a brake shop that would honor their warranty in my area. He stayed that they were not a national brand and I would have to find a reputable shop in *** ******* ***** area and call him once they gave ne a diagnosis of the problem as to why it was leaking brake fluid.. After about 3 days they called and sais that they found the cause foe the Leake and that the calipers had now froze up ans would also need to be replaced as well as to redo the brake lines as they were not properly installed which casied the hole to appear in the lines. I called Emilio and asked him to call and speak to the brake shop . However he never called them and then stopped taking my calls. I emailed the owner and provided him with all the information. And he replied he would take care of it if I sent him all the information. However, he too is now not replying or returning my phone calls.i would like help getting my money back. Due to inompetence with performing my repairs I am a disabled veteran on a fixed income and don't have the money to pay my rent for March due to this issue. Please help me I feel that I have been taken advantage of.

It appears that a brake line rubbed against something and failed (Leaked).

A refund of what it cost to repair the brake line seems to be in order.

I asked the customer to send me a copy of that bill and I did not get a reply.

I can not make out anything on the receipt from the repairing shop.

Please send a clear copy of the brake line repair and the cost.

I am sorry for any inconvenience.

In late Sept 2021 I had front brakes and rotors repaired on my car. I asked did they do luxury cars and have the correct premium parts, I was told yes. Once my job was done I was given back the ********’ plate that is the front cover for my calibers and was told it could not be put back on I need to replace them. On May 17th 2022 sent my car to another mechanic shop to have my back brakes and hoses repaired. I also asked him to over look my entire car for any other issues. On May 18th 2022 I was advised my front breaks were put in incorrectly, the wrong size, the front caliber clips were coming loose, my pads could slip out and they not properly sitting on the rotor. I went to the shop to see the front brake issue myself and took a video. On May 18th @ 11:39 I called Brake Centers of America to get name of the manager and to advise of what I just found out about the front brakes. On May 18th @ 4:42 I went to BCoA to speak to Management, they were not there however Jay was there and was the tech who worked on my car. I showed him the video of my front brakes and he said he remembers my car and I need to speak to management he advised to come in the morning. I also advised him the clips are coming out my caliber and that the caliber cover was not to be removed from my calibers. He keep explaining what he did was correct. On May 19th 2022 I returned back to Brake Center of America and spoke to shop manager Amillio advised him what is going on with my car, showed the video, and I want a refund , I am having my car fixed by the mechanic that currently has my car as this shop does not seem to be technically competent in fixing my car. Amilio refused and advised me the front caliber cover is just for looks. I authorized the new mechanic to fix my car. The parts Brake Center of America used were wrong. Spoke to the owner Bill on May 21st and spoke to Amillio again on June 1st. I am looking for a refund. This shop failed to properly install my brakes and no proper parts.

I spoke to the customer on 5/23/2022.

    I explained.

Brake repair made 9/30/21. 158,313 miles.

The Original brake pad clips with the ******** logo imprinted on them were worn and if put back on the car they would likely fall off and cause a problem.

We replaced the OE clips with the OEF clips that were supplied with the brake pads.

We handed her the old clips.

Customer never had a brake issue. No noise, No stopping complaint.

5/23/22. Customer complains that another shop said brakes were done wrong. (Still No brake symptoms).

I told her that she needs to bring vehicle in and we would fix whatever is needed under warranty and not to let another shop touch the vehicle.

I stated that if she didn't feel safe after what the other garage stated I would pay for the tow.

I stated that if SHE CHOSES to have someone else work on our work she does that at her own expense there is nothing at that point that we could do for her.

I would think also if she had this work done she would have at least provided us with the old parts to inspect and a detailed receipt.

I feel that the customer was misguided by the other shop. They know that once they replaced our brakes there will no longer be a warranty by us.
Customer has showed up to our shop several times yelling and screaming and telling us that we are incompetent upsetting our customers each time.
This is not fair to us.

    Complaint: ********

I am rejecting this response because:

This is not about a mechanic trying to scare me, this is about the technical incompetence of Brake Centers of America. My safety was put into play, only through the grace of GOD my pads did not slip out. Attached is a picture of my car with no **** cover on the caliber, this is how Brake Centers of America completed the front brake job. Then you see another picture of my car with a **** cover over the caliber, this is the new completed front brake job. The **** cover on the caliber is not just for looks, it serves several purposes for the caliber and brake system. One purpose is the cover keeps the caliber plate in place, you can see if the picture the clips coming out of the caliber plate. Attached is more up close picture of the new brake job with the **** caliber cover, you can see the **** caliber cover serves a great purpose with the caliber and brake system. In addition Brake Centers of America did not use OEM parts. Attached is a picture of the front brake pad, the pad on the left is the proper pad for my car, the pad on the right is the pad Brake Centers of America put on my car. They are smaller, less thickness and look old and rusty after just 7 1/2 months. I am looking for a refund of $1540.41 the cost of the new proper front brake job.

    Sincerely,

I am very sorry that the customer did not take our advise and bring the vehicle back to us.

It would have saved her the over $1,500.00 that SHE CHOSE to pay. Note: We charged her $475.00 for brake pads and rotors installed and $40.00 to install a brake pad sensor.

Photo #2 shows the proper brakes and replacement clips on the brakes THAT WE PROPERLY INSTALLED. There is nothing wrong with the brakes. The brakes could not "Fall out" and she was never in danger of losing her brakes.

The ******** clips that we handed to her were not used by the garage either, they were replaced. Same clip with a decorative logo cover attached.

Looking at her average miles driven we can estimate that she drove about 15,000 miles on these brakes, PROBLEM FREE.

I explained to her that I have been a mechanic for 50 years and specializing in brakes for the last 33 years. We have never had a faulty brake job.

I begged her to come back to us. I was so sure that the brakes would be fine that I offered to extend the warranty to 4 years / 48,000 miles. I offered to tow the vehicle in for free as well. Nothing worked and I cant think of anything else that I could do.
