I had Bought a mower last year from merit rentals this year. I needed to have service. So I paid the $99 to have them pick up and drop back off. Once done I was called February 12th it was done. The total was 365.84 I paid with my debit card have receipt for they were supposed to drop my mower off 2 days in a row left me with no call, no show. I left. Subject: Request for Refund for Blower Purchase Dear [Recipient's Name], I hope this message finds you well. I am writing to formally address an issue regarding a recent purchase from Merit Hardware. On September 9, 2024, I bought a blower from your store. After experiencing some challenges with the product, I reached out to Jeff M****** at Merit Hardware to request an exchange. He assured me that he would send me an **** backpack blower as a replacement. Unfortunately, I have yet to receive the replacement blower. After waiting for a considerable amount of time, I requested a refund to my credit card. I provided copies of my purchase receipts to facilitate this process. Despite Mr. M******' acknowledgment of my request in text messages, I have not received the refund or any documentation confirming the return. Ordered a ******** ****** gasoline power tractor engine, on June 22, 2024, before the business closed on noon that day with employee named Josh, after studying the specifications of this engine come to realize that it would not work for me, canceled the order on Monday morning 6/24 on the phone with same employee Josh, he assured me at that time that order was canceled and refund would be issued to my credit card, that was 6 weeks ago, still no refund, called every week, staff was very rude and dismissive on the phone, as of late no response this company will not answer my call or email, after checking reviews going back at least 3 years, this appears to be a regular practice for themInitial Complaint

On 07/16/2024 we bought a piece of equipment in the amount of $20,000 brought it back to NY - tried to use it and it was not working. We brought it back the next day and asked for a refund and they told us no returns and kicked us out. We called the police and made a report and the police said they were tired of going to that location. They said to file a complaint and take them to court. All I want is my money back. Customer purchased the machine. Used it for a few days then made up several "issues" in a attempt for us to take back the machine. We told the customer that we would fix any potential issues under warranty. The customer did not like this response and stated they wanted to return the equipment. I proceeded to tell the customer there was no returns on used equipment. The sign is clearly posted next to the register in the front of the store.

Tried to order an engine via their website over the last 2 days. Repeated checkout fail. Emailed them: "We're not taking web orders bc of fraudulent customers. Call to order." Okay, but please join the 21rst century. Called Jeff, provided my info, & asked him to verify it. He then gave me a mouthful of attidude and his last words were literally "** **** **** ******". On 3/18/2024 I ordered a mower engine from Merit Hardware. After a week of not seeing any activity I contacted them to see if there was a problem. Was told engine was on back order. I requested a cancel and refund. I was told that a refund would be issued but they asked for my full credit card number, expiration date and cvv number. I got suspicious due the tone of voice I was getting during this phone call. I never got a refund or the engine I ordered. I was never provided a cancellation notification on my email or anything. This is theft 100 percent. If I had read the BBB reviews before I would have never interacted with this business.Initial Complaint

In march of 2020 I purchased a landscape trailer and a lawn mower from Merit Rentals in **. This year I called them up and received a quote for the same landscape trailer and given a price of $7000. 2 days later I called to order and the gentleman who answered the phone said we never carried that trailer before and I said I purchased it from you can’t you look in your records. His reply was we sell hundreds of trailers and I took his word. 2 weeks ago I received the trailer and instead it was a 7x16 instead of a 7x18 and now all my mowers won’t fit. Further to the above-mentioned claim, I am writing to inform you of the charge I am disputing on my credit card. On January 26, 2024, I placed an order, over the phone, for a leaf blower from Merit Hardware Inc at ** ********** ******** ********** ** *****. This leaf blower was an in stock 2023 clearance item. I realized that this leaf blower was not the right fit for me. Therefore, I called to cancel the order within 10 days of purchase. Since I didn’t receive the leaf blower, I asked for a full refund back to my credit card. The owner, Jeffrey, advised that he would only provide a store credit for $3,000 and not a refund back to my credit card. Upon my purchase, I was never advised verbally or in writing of this return policy. Merit Hardware’s website does not stipulate the return policy would only be refunded as a store credit. There is nothing noted under terms and conditions of this store credit policy. I communicated, via text message, with the owner, too and he never communicate that his return policy was only a store credit. I would have never made this purchase, if I had known that. Therefore, due to these circumstances I put this item in dispute for your review. the last draw was when he called on 3/6/24 @8:32 am to threatened me.Initial Complaint

Terrible service! I ordered an engine from this company in November 2023 and get a call from Merit Hardware that the ****** is on back order and will be delivered in January at a 1700 plus 100 delivery price. January comes and goes so I inquire and he said he would look into it. Two more weeks go by without a response so I asked again when I will get my engine. He then tells me that the new 2024 SALE price is 2199.00 plus100 delivery. So since he forgot to place my order and ship my engine in 2023 I have to pay 500 dollars more… He ran my credit and I got approved so I’m not sure where or how this even happened other than poor business management skills. Now he has blocked me on FB so I can’t even communicate with him. This guy was very unprofessional and immature.Business Response
