I keep canceling the ESPN insider account, they keep charging me anyway. When I complain, they tell me "no refunds" and to cancel so I won't be charged again the next year. But then next year comes and I am charged again and go through the same thing. Basically, I guess I have to cancel my ****** account because they are just going to keep ripping me off $120 every year (or more, since the price goes up seemingly annually)Business Response

SIGNED UP for ESPN+ at 10:42 AM, 9 March 2025. But did not realize until a couple hours later that this service requires a TV provider. We do not have a TV service provider. CANCELED at 1:04 pm on 9 March. REQUEST FULL REFUND. 1. SCREENSHOTS of emails are attached that clearly show time on 9 March @ 10:42 a.m. and canceled on same day (9 March) at 1:04 p.m. 2. I have tried to contact ESPN+ on this issue and no phone number to contact. AI states reach out to them on X (******* ***************)!!!! A RIDICULOUS WAY TO DO BUSINESS. 3. We do NOT have a TV service provider -- this service is not useable/needed. 4. I am also filing an *** complaint if I have not received a refund within 30 days (NLT 9 April).Business Response

On 3/20/25 I spoke to 8 different phone representatives, hung up on three times, and was refused to connect to a supervisor all within a two hour time span. I cancelled one of the two subscriptions on February 21st and still being charged for both. I was told I'd get a refund, but never received the refund.Initial Complaint

ESPN offers an “ESPN+” subscription, which I am a long time subscriber of in order to purchase pay-per-view *** events. On Saturday March 8th despite being a paying customer I was completely unable to purchase the PPV event for the evening. The entire reason I have ESPN+ is for such things. Admittedly by ESPN there was a technical error that did not allow anyone to purchase the PPV until it was nearly over. After the fact I literally paid for a service I could not use, and the secondary fact that I spent money socially hosting for this event (food, beverage, even wasting an hour of a personal day with my employer) ESPN offered no resolution whatsoever. Only offering to help me cancel my ESPN+ subscription. Because of this I feel it is necessary to escalate this to a BBB complaint. My desired resolution is to be comped for the upcoming PPV event on April 12th as well as to be reimbursed for my subscription fee for the month of March, as it was entirely unusable for me at the fault of ESPN. This type of conduct from ESPN is egregious and downright fraudulent as I was offered a certain product at a certain price and paid a fee months over in order to acquire such product only to be denied last minute through no fault of my own.Business Response

I am rejecting this response because refunding my monthly subscription fee is hardly a drop in the bucket of the incurred costs I had to forfeit because of ESPN’s negligence. Between food and beverage alone the tangible loss on my end outweighs the cost of a PPV event by at least 3 times. Not to mention the social costs of everyone’s travel and wasted time. A product was offered, a product that is contingent on a purchase I have made and made many months prior, and because of sheer negligence I was not able to acquire the product.Said negligence is unethical, the marketing I was subject to is deceptive, and this response is unacceptable.

When purchasing a PPV event from ESPN+ on an ****** ********* (hours before the event took place) I was told multiple times by the app that the transaction was taking too long and I would be notified when it went through. After waiting for a while I tried again and was given the same message. 20 minutes before the event I still was not notified but looked at my checking account to notice 2 separate charges for the event posted by ******. I contacted ESPN support 20+ minutes before the event started as it is hosted by their app and was trying to gain access to the event and was willing to go through the ****** channels to dispute payment. I was on call with a representative named Eugene and for the next 45 minutes was given the run around culminating in a refusal for a reference number for the call in question as well as a refusal to speak to any management staff. I wanted to cancel my subscription to the ESPN+ streaming service yesterday but it is extremely difficult to do; today I was able to get on the computer and attempt it, however I cannot cancel today and get a refund of the remaining amount for the 'remainder of billing period' as they will only stop the service on that day. This is a business scam - they should be able with the push of an automatic computer service to stop and refund my money. My ESPN+ subscription is not working. I've been an on & off subscriber for 4 years now and it's randomly not pulling up ESPN+ content. This is the first time this has happened. I've called multiple times and the customer service agents have offered no solutions. I want somebody in corporate to fix this issue. Due to the poor service, I cancelled my subscription and will never give a red penny to ESPN ever again.Business Response

I subscribe to espn plus. *** ***** **** ** ***** was blocked “ event was blacked out in your area.” None of the other fights were blacked out. This was an illegal action by espn plus in violation of my subscription.Business Response
