    Was demanding payment on an account with ******* that was not for my address and they simply told me that I had to work it out with *******. I called ******* and they told me that there was nothing that could be done from their side and that I needed to work with Eastern Account System insisting that I was responsible and that I must have given my personal credit information to someone. When I finally got someone to to try and help they wanted even more personal credit information of which I was not about to give them information that could cause someone to open up another account under my name. I have a real account with *******/******* so they would have all of that information on file as I have been a customer with them for nearly 25 years. I never received any correspondence but they were quick to post this fictitious account as delinquent on my credit report which reduced my credit score by 13 points. This whole thing is a scam, they were hoping that I would just get frustrated and pay the balance on an account that was not mine which I will not do.

    They do this on purpose, SCAMMING AND UNLAWFULLY ADDING THINGS TO YOUR CREDIT REPORT. BBB COMPLAINT FILED! I’m done going back and forth between wow internet and them. They can talk to the BBB AGENT AND ATTORNEY GENERAL. I call and call and call and no answer like what is this.

    I was convinced to try a fiber internet option and told that if I could for any reason cancel within 2 weeks. Within that 2 weeks their internet service never worked. I called an canceled and was told as soon as I sent back their equipment all debts with them would be cleared. They said that their system would show a balance as long as the equipment was logged as not returned. I then spent months trying to get a return address to send said equipment. They eventually sent me to collections for a service I never even got to use. Eastern Account System was nothing but aggressive and rude to me when I called and explained my situation. They said I had to pay no matter what. I said I wanted to file a dispute. The employee said sure and then asked for my card info again. I repeatedly told her I needed to file a dispute. She then after a lot of back and forth said she'd filed one magically within seconds and immediately said she needed my payment information again. I was spoken to and handled so poorly. I've done debt collection as a job in my past and never would I have handled a customer the way she dealt with me. I'm happy to pay it to remove it from my credit but at this point per all the reviews that won't be happening either. I've been screwed over twice and I'm baffled how this is allowed to continue.

If and when there is an opportunity to coach an agent, we are proactive. We take great pride in our approach and maintaining compliance. All collectors and collection agencies are not the same. Eastern Account System is a third-party collection agency that works on our client’s behalf. We do not own or purchase any debt. Disputes are forwarded to our client. We cannot adjust or alter the bill any way. Eastern does not do “pay for delete”;this violates our contract with the credit bureaus if we remove entries without just cause.

    I have tried reaching out to this company many times. Each time I call (which has been more than 6 times in the last few weeks), I input my number associated with the account and the phone disconnects every time right away. I am starting to think this is connected with fraud.

    They keep calling but never leave a message as to what is being owed or held or whatever; when i call back the number that shows -- please hold to speak with a representative ; then CLICK - NOTHING

    Why can't they just call me and tell me what I so-call owe, for what and to who if they trying to collect a debt? I have no account number to enter in their AVR system so I can never connect with a human...it's unfair. It's poor business practice as they have affected my personal credit for quite some time now and it seems very schemy

    I can assure you there is nothing "schemy" going on. You can hold for a representative or choose the option to speak with someone. There are several methods to communicate made available.     This Company is Bias and Discriminate on who they Delete Bad Reports for. Everyone wants their Delinquencies deleted once paid. If you delete for one consumer you must delete for anyone else who request, seeking Legal Counsel on this Matter

    My husband was erroneous sent to collections by WOW. WOW repeatedly failed to provide contracted services. After our son switched to WOW five years later, they still couldn’t provide the service. After purchasing equipment that provided the packets were not crossing and were being lost prior to demarkation proving service was not being provide WOW replace the line to the pole. This took 8 months of constantly calling and having technicians come out to fix the problem. Once WOW admitted the problem and cured the issue, we asked that they remove us from collections! WOW provided a letter stating the issue was resolved and with a phone conversation between my husband, WOW, and Eastern. Eastern refuses to remove it even though WOW took care of it. This has literally wrecked our lives!

    I had three outstanding debts, paid them off, a week later Eastern Account System sent out three additional bills in the same exact amounts as the three I paid, stating that I still owe Ear Specialty Group. And they never reported by payments to the credit bureau. With that being said I’m going to contact the Better Business Bureau and the Attorney General. This is unacceptable.

    Payments are reported to the bureaus, automatically and electronically on the 10th of each month. The accounts/balances recently paid were not reported to the bureaus since the change in medical debt reporting. According to the credit reporting guidelines in place, medical debt under $500 does not credit report. Eastern is required to send notification when an account is placed for collections. A dispute regarding the recent accounts placed for collections was noted and we have reached out to our client. Eastern Account System is a third party collection agency that works on the original creditor's behalf. We cannot adjust or alter the bill in any way. If the balances are owed, validation of the debt will be mailed to you.

    This company is a scam!!!! They are representing a cable company out of ***and trying to get funds from us that we already paid to the company in *** I faxed numerous pages totaling a charge of $28.00 to Eastern. I don't even think they looked into our complaint against WOW in *** They just sent us another letter seeking payment. WHY THE HELL SHOULD I PAY DOUBLE FOR SOMETHING ALREADY PAID FOR!?!?!?!?!?!?! My husband & I are retired, have worked diligently to maintain a good credit rating and now we have to put up with this BS. In reading the other complaints, it sounds that even if we did pay this debt they would still leave the fee against our credit. They would not clear it. I have already reported WOW-***to our local Government Center. Apparently they have had numerous complaints that they now have the information on the bottom of their statements to contact our local Gvt Ctr regarding FCC regulations & complaints against them. WOW has outsourced to India and each time I called to try to resolve our bill I was told different stories as to why there was still an outstanding balance. First it was for equipment not returned which I had tracking notification that it was received by them, from a payment in September, to a payment in December. They never could get their story straight and the major amount that Eastern is trying to collect from us is so called LATE FEES. We stopped service with WOW in September 2023. We have been fighting the BS since then. Seriously people, have you nothing better to do than scam people out of $$. Hope you can sleep well at night knowing you are not following protocol and reviewing complaints that legitimate customers send to you.
