On December 30, 2024, I took my Jeep into Gengras for oil change and five point inspection. They told me that I needed new tires. On February 4, 2025 I dropped my car off at Gengras for new tires and to find out why it was making a loud exhaust noise. One February 5, 2025, Gengras sent me a video of a mechanic telling me that I needed a new track bar and tie road assembly. The total for everything that I needed was $4k. If I had known this amount of repairs were needed, including the tires, in December, I probably would have opted not to repair the car, but rather sell it and get something new. I agreed to have Gengras do the repairs. Gengras agreed to have the car back to me by 1:30PM on Friday February 7, 2025. On Friday at 1:30PM, I had not heard from them. I called and they told me it might not be done until Monday. They rushed and got it done by 5pm on Friday. I drove the vehicle back to my home that night. On Saturday morning, the car lost steering while I was on the road. It was a very dangerous situation, but luckily I was not hurt and did not have an accident. When I got out to check what happened, I also noticed a dent on the front bumper that was not there before I brought it to the dealer. When *** came to tow the car back to the dealership, they found that the issue was due to a faulty repair by the dealership. I have =========================-video evidence of this. I have asked them for a refund for the track bar and tie rod assemblies ($1887.95). They have no agreed to give me this yet. I believe they also overcharged me for all of the repairs to begin with. I think this business should be looked into if it hasn't already. When I picked up my car on Friday, there was another customer at the counter that was upset because she felt she was being overcharged. I believe they not only overcharge, but are not having qualified mechanics work on cars, putting people in danger.

On October 17, 2024, I purchased a vehicle from Gengras Chrysler Dodge Jeep of *** ****** ** **** **** ********* ** *****. After several days of negation with the sales rep and the authorized dealer we arrived at a final deal. Since the signing day/delivery day of the 2025 *** **** I have been receiving calls daily from the sales represented Steven V****** *s well as other employees. Mr. V****** has informed me that has made several mistakes with the purchase contract and that he is going to throw the deal out as a result of several mistakes he has made. I'm not sure as to why a contract was sign and a deal was made if the sales represented had the proper pay-off amounts were record from the loan institution. I'm being harassed daily and threating there is no deal made after several contracts were signed I have been even told I have to pay additional monies of $7000.00 dollars or pay an additional $180.00. on top of an 800.00 monthly car note. I would like the business to have some integrity and honor the sign contract, this whole ordeal is cause me health concerns, stress and difficulty trusting in the fact that if a contract is sign if it truly means anything. I don't want to get a lawyer but if this continues, I fear I may have too. G moving forward implement new policies and procedures to ensure this oversite is not a issue moving forward. Gengras Chrysler Dodge Jeep pay off the financial institution as agreed so you don't have to call your customers harassing them for your staff incompetency. I would like all this to go away and now I'm in the market to sale this vehicle because the institution where I purchase the vehicle has really made this a downright awful purchasing experience. I feel as now it is my duty as a consumer to go to the media about this horrific experience, so no one has to go through what I have had to endure.

      To whom it may concern

I have discussed this situation with the management team and Gengras did make a mistake in processing the correct payoff amounts when presenting the bank documents with the customer. I have instructed the staff at Gengras to not get the money from the customer and we are owning our mistake and absorbing and difference in correct amount needed to payoff the trade in vehicle. I have been told this information has been shared with our client and this is now resolved. we are sorry for any inconvenience we have caused the consumer. The business sold me a used truck and within 1000 miles of having it the truck is basically not drivable. The day I picked it up there was an exhaust smell coming from the AC vents and I let them know about it. The truck also shakes bad while driving and bucks and shudders violently at times. The exhaust smell coming from the vents continues to get worse to the point where it now causes headaches and burning eyes. They scheduled me to come in for them to look at the truck, they replaced the radiator because it was leaking but did not look into any of the other issues including the exhaust coming from the vents which seems like a pretty big safety issue being that CO is toxic and deadly. I purchased a CO detector to confirm it is exhaust coming from the vents and it is. They continue to ignore my messages I leave them about the truck and never call me back. The only response I got from them was when I picked up my truck after the radiator install and they told me to bring it to a Chevy dealership for all the other issues and again they never looked into the exhaust coming into the cab from the vents! Outright disgusted with their customer service and lack of care for safety!

I bought a 2014 ***** ********* from a private individual on 6/28/24. This truck was originally sold by Gengras ********* (currently Gengras Chrystler, Dodge, Jeep Ram). According to the ******, the truck had (10) service visits to Gengras ********* from day of sale to the last vehicle service on 9/12/22. On this visit there was a Maintenance inspection, Four wheel alignment, Drivability/performance checked, and Oil and filter changed. From that point, it had its registration renewed on 7/1/23, passed ** emissions on 1/4/24, then finally sold in ** on 4/25/24 to a private individual. We bought the truck from him on 6/28/24. After I brought the vehicle home, we were changing the tires, and we found a couple of loose pieces of aluminum tape wrapped around the main structural frame under the car. I peeled some off and found major rust on the frame. Somebody had professionally covered up major rust holes along the entire length of the frame on both sides. They had wrapped the rusty frame with aluminum tape, and spray painted the outside with an undercoating black paint. This is a life safety issue, and I was told by a mechanic that the car should have been declared salvage. I am not accusing Gengras of covering up the rust. What I am accusing them of is ignoring a life safety issue and not reporting an alarming fraud. I have tons of pictures and documentation. My mechanic said it was not safe to drive and he told me we had to do a frame swap. He also said the level of damage indicated that the rust holes had been there for many, many years. He thought it was impossible to gain that much rust since it left **. He also said that to a trained mechanic, the cover up job was obvious, and there were pieces of pealing aluminum tape all across both sides of the frame. Gengras was the ***** dealership and they had a responsibility to public safety. Nothing about rust or the coverup was on the ******. The public needs to know about how Gengras does business.

In effort to keep clarity I would like to address that Gengras ********* who is listed as the seller is not currently or has never been affiliated with Gengras Chrysler Dodge Jeep. Although owned by the same family they are separate entities. With that being said, our number one priority is always safety and customer satisfaction. We would be willing to review your concerns at another one of our dealerships with the guidance of our COO Jim T******. His contact info is ###-###-####. I am rejecting this response because:

Please see attached "Gengras Letter", which was attached with the package.  They gave the forwarding phone number listed for your company.  I can't bring the vehicle in for the following reasons:

1.)  I was told the truck was unsafe to drive

2.) The vehicle is currently located at a restoration garage in ***** *********** ** undergoing a very expensive frame swap.  *********** is a 14 hour drive.

3.)  I have provided numerous pictures of the horrible damage which was covered up with aluminum tape and paint, which you guys never shared with anybody.

The only fair solution in my view is for Gengras to pay a portion of the repair, and promise not to allow unsafe vehicles back out into the public.

      Sincerely,

As you can see in the last written communication, Gengras stated "Thank you, ******. I want you to rest assured we are not walking away from this issue and want to make sure we resolve this fairly."  They said they would reach out by phone.  They did reach out and did a 180 on the phone.  Now they are saying they will not help with this issue at all.  Apparently, Gengras is claiming they thought they sold the car to me directly.  This was clearly explained in my original complaint that they did not sell the car directly to me.  My complaint still stands.  As a dealership, Gengras has a responsibility to the public.  This truck was severely damaged by rust, and that rust was fraudulently covered up with aluminum tape and black paint.  This aluminum tape was peeling off and exposing parts of the rust and the coverup.  Gengras was under the car in their dealership closely working on the underbody, the suspension, the brakes and brake lines, alignment, etc.  They performed a "drivability" test.  New information:  there was a fitting on the front of the truck that my mechanic found which was a snow plow fitting.  Trucks that plow snow and salt are notoriously prone to rust damage.  Gegras said they were never directed to do a rust test while the truck was in for service on (10) occasions.  The last service was a substantial service, and they allowed the vehicle to leave the dealership without any notification or update to the car fax regarding the rust damage.  After that, the car was apparently shipped off to be auctioned in ** (where we have no snow or salt).  It landed on a car lot, an individual bought it, got upside down in his loan, and then I bought it 4 months later.  When I bought it, it was 2 years after it left the Gengras dealership.  My mechanic said the cover up was obvious, and that the vehicle was unsafe to drive.  He said it was impossible for the truck to get that kind of rust damage in 2 years in **.  He said the snow plow work caused the rust and the damage made it unsafe to be driven amongst the public.  He said hitting a pot hole at speed could have broken the frame.  Gengras let the car go like this and put the public in danger.  I was asking for Gengras to pay a portion of the repair to provide some sort of responsibility for this fraud and ignoring the fraud.  They have refused.  Is there anything else that the BBB can do to help?

Gengras Dodge **** ******** ** service department. I brought our truck in for an oil change only for that night to notice on our driveway I was leaking oil. Brought it back to the service department they said there was an "overspill" of the oil and they cleaned it up and its all set. Two days later my engine light turned on (that never turned on before) called service and they said theyre booked out two weeks if the light is not blinking it can wait. Days later the truck is shaking when driving it so bad it had to be towed to Gengras. They diagnois it with motor issue and said its not their responsibility even though this all started after their "overspill" of the oil and the truck passed inspection prior to the oil change. They refuse to take responsibility of it and asked us to tow it somewhere else.

      Business Response

The customer came in for an oil change.  A couple of days later they called and said there was an oil leak so we had them bring it back.  There was a lot of residual oil leaking from under the truck.  Even though it was done in express, Nick looked at it and checked the oil level first.  It was full.  Nick then inspected the truck and determined there was a lot of residual oil from removing the old oil filter.  He cleaned the oil and rechecked the level which was good.  The customer called a couple of days later saying their engine light was on.  We made an appointment for them and determined there is internal engine failure most likely due to camshaft failure.  I spoke with her husband and tried to come up with all different options including used, remanufactured and Mopar.  I also tried to work a trade in for him while the truck was here.  Considering the fact the oil was full and it was basically a sloppy oil change we don’t believe we caused any failure in the engine.  Please let me know if we can be of any more help.

7/22/23 I have paid this dealership no money as the vehicle I purchased and the issues I’m having are covered under warranty and recalls. This buisness is committed to providing me service for my newly lease vehicle purchased from them. The nature of my buisness is “service/maintenance”. The buisness has not been trying to resolve the problem but rather retaliate against me by prolonging service/maintenance as well as threatening me to be trespassed from the property due to, I the customer leaving honest and bad reviews about this company. I was also told by the GM of the company that because of this I needed to remove a “Road Hazard” vehicle, (classified under connecticuts lemon law statue.) The car has a steering stability issue which causes the steering wheel to shake, also referred to me as the (death wobble) by the service secretary over at gengras. Customer #: 97043 I have videos and pictures of the issue that I am willing to provide.

      Good morning,

The last time that *** ***** was here to pick up his vehicle from our service department, we had to call the police due to concerns about his hostile behavior in our customer lounge. He was swearing, yelling, recording employees with his cell phone, and wearing a ski mask that covered his face. We have decided to no longer do business with ** *****. There are dozens of other certified Jeep dealerships in the state that are authorized to perform repairs on his vehicle.

I am rejecting this response because: we love liars ???? the entire interaction was caught on audio and video recording from BEFORE I ever entered the place of buisness. The video was reported and SHOWN to police as well and on the cops body cam you’ll hear him say “yes well they lied to me saying you were acting obnoxious but I’m glad I got to see your video, all of this can be avoided if people just learn to tell the truth”. I never raised my voice, never swore, and I would like the ski mask that I am being profiled about ?? because again I audio and video recorded the ENTIRE interaction from beginning to end. The buisness will be exposed through social media with the video AND AUDIO recordings due to this blatant lie. I had a mic. Recording the interaction from 5 mins prior to getting to the buisness. The video is too long to upload here, max mb is reached.

My 2014 Jeep ***** ******** has been at this dealership from 6/22/2023 regarding my check engine light. Since the first day I dropped my truck off for repairs, the customer service, and responsiveness has been absolutely terrible! The service manager Rebecca H******** was extremely rude, unprofessional and of little to no assistance on guiding me through the process of my repairs. Not only this, the service department fails to return phone calls, emails, or voicemails. I approved work to be initiated on my Jeep 6/27/2023 and the approved work was not started until 7/10/2023. After numerous failed attempts of trying to reach out to the department for updates, I had to physically present myself to the service department to get a status update on my car. I have been reassigned to two different service representatives, Karen C***** and Edward P****. They were extensively better than my originally assigned representative Rebecca but there still has been little to no movement made on the repair progress to my 2014 Jeep. I have repeatedly expressed the importance of getting my car back due to the reason that it is my work vehicle and I travel back and forth from ************* to *********** on a weekly basis. Yet, I have not been offered a courtesy vehicle at any point throughout this process despite me inquiring about one. Unfortunately, I have had to accommodate myself by coordinating my own transportation including obtaining my own rental car services. I have made two follow-up calls and left voicemails on 7/13/2023 and 7/15/2023 and have had mad no further progress on getting my car repaired or a status update. This is by far the worst car service experience I have ever had. I do not foresee myself ever doing business with this company ever again.

On October 20th my 2016 ***** ******* was scheduled to be seen, because it would not start. The service representative was not helpful, informative, she used foul language, and gave me the impression that I was annoying, whenever I was able to get in contact with her regarding my vehicle. For a week I received no notice of what was going on with my vehicle, nor were any of my calls returned. I only found out the my vehicle was ready, when I showed up to the service department to inquire. Upon picking up the vehicle, I had questions about different notes (listed by the mechanic) that were never discussed with me. The service rep stated that she did infact discuss those matters with me, but she didnt. Now my vehicle still won't start, my check engine light is on and my parking sensor will not cut off. The service was horrible, and I'm still left without a vehicle, after paying over $1300. I've reached out to the store manger, and have still yet to receive a response, and it's been a week. I would just like any assistance to address this matter, so that i can get my vehicle back in order to maintain my employment.

My car was scratched while being diagnosed at gengras jeep **** ********, they have cameras and when the jeep was being pulled in it did not have any evidence of scratches or marks. They agreed it happened there but have been giving me little to no information about when it will be fixed. They do not want to replace the piece but have a company come and do a dent removal, I asked if I could get a quote to have this done at another body shop They said they will not reimburse me for 3rd party work. So thus is my only option. I feel like this is not correct and I should be able to get some sort of money to get it repaired correctly or just get it done correctly by them. But they are only giving me this ome option if dent removal when this isn't a dent it's a scrape on a plastic bumper. The incident happened on Oct 24th 2022.

I went to get an oil change on my car they informed me that it was a recall on it. So they ordered the parts and called me to make an appointment 9/24 @8:40am. I informed the lady that I needed my car back the same day. When I got to the dealership I informed Derrick the service representative that I needed my car back the same day he said ok. I go home get a call after a few hours and he tells me they need to keep my car with no options of alternate transportation. Here it is Monday I call them in the morning to get an update he says they are working on it. When I call them in the afternoon he I asked when will it be ready. He tells me by 4:30/5:00. Derrick finally call me at 4:35 and tell me they need to keep my car another day. He said that the technician didn't get to it until 2:00 and the had other appointments today before they got to my car. Leaving me with no transportation again. This was supposed to be a hour job.

Ms. ******* car was indeed here for a Recall repair. Unfortunately due to the cause for the recall caused us to run into some difficulties in completing the recall in 1 day. We have since finished the repair and the customer has the vehicle in their possession. While I do acknowledge the inconvenience of not having loaners available this is due to the fact we currently have over 150 vehicle repairs open in our shop and every person wants a loaner and we simply don’t have a fleet big enough to handle all requests. I apologize for this inconvenience and will try harder to accommodate in the future. Any questions please contact me to discuss.
