  I called SM Mechanical Services to diagnose and repair the condenser for my air conditioner. They responded promptly and had two technicians out the next morning. The techs found the issue, which was a bad capacitor, and had it replaced in about half an hour. I was most appreciative to get the AC running again in a heat wave.
  The one-star review is due to two things:
  1) They charged me $327.00 for a part that lists at $13.75 (new). That is a price markup of 2,300%. I blame myself for this, as I did not ask enough questions and I did not look up pricing on the capacitor before the technicians left.
  2) The new capacitor was installed incorrectly. Out of the five wires that are attached to the component, two were on the wrong tabs, and one was not connected at all. I asked the technicians if they were confident in their wiring of the capacitor, and pointed out that it did not match the wiring diagram on the inside of the cover. The senior of the two techs told me, before looking at it, that sometimes they don't match. Fortunately, he did take another look and fixed the wiring before turning on the unit.
  I will most certainly look elsewhere for any future HVAC work.

  Update - A refund in the amount of $50.00 was provided to customer and homeowner accepted the refund. Was happy that we reached out and provided a refund.

  We needed to replace our failing high-efficiency propane boiler. SM Mechanical came in with the best estimate and the most detailed estimate- we knew everything that was going to be done and every piece of the system that was going to be replaced. The office kept us informed every step of the way and the workers showed up when we were told they'd show up. And the workers, let me tell you about them: clean, efficient, knowledgeable, expert. They did the job in about the time the estimator said it would take. No delays and no goofing around- every minute put to good use. They left the place cleaner than when they came in. No, I'm not related to the owner in any way. I'm just very happy I found a company that does exactly what it says it will do and charges a fair price for the work. I recommend everyone who is looking to replace a boiler to get at least 4 estimates like I did. The range of the estimates will astound you. I could have paid twice as much for this job as I did, but why would anyone do that? SM Mechanical is what you end up with when you combine HVAC expertise and a fair price: value.
