Horrible people, froze my assets within 24 hours of receiving a $300,000 wire from my employer for over 1 year, forced me into bankruptcy and foreclosure. subhuman animals with no customer service to speak of. uncaring, unethical dishonest and criminal. Wishing I could put them out of business. they have violated their fiduciary responsibility to me and based on my age and disability committed elder abuse. I've filed complaints with FINRA & the SEC AND HIRED A SECURTIES LAW ATTORNEY Praying for some relief from these clowns. AVOID AT ALL COSTS THESE PEOPLE (?) ARE THIEVES!!! I'VE REPORTED TO THE NY AG AND THE CFPB. RUN DON'T WALK AWAY FROM THESE CROOKS!!! YOU'LL THANK ME LATER* **** ******* ZERO STARS

These guys are trash for individual investors. I opened a rollover URA account. Making trades on their mobile app was IMPOSSIBLE. a simple trade was confounded by multiple levels of questions and clarifications required before the Buy was allowed. When I decided to pull my money out, there was NO HUMAN to help. After searching for 30 minutes all I could find was a phone listed in HUNGARY!!! They took over 3 weeks to complete the transaction ( due again to multiple layers of opaque permissions). They kept my money for three weeks longer than any other broker would have. During that time I was deprived from use of my funds. If you are an individual retail investor stay away from these jerks. They cater to institutional big money accounts and laugh at us little guys. I HATE THESE GUYS. Their commercials create the impression they are there for you when, In Fact, they don’t see you and will t leave you crying in the dust.

Worst experience with any company ever. Stay away from interactive brokers. I tried to open a new account on 9/16/2024. I sent my funds to them immediately $6,000. I spent the next 3 weeks trying to get the status of my new application, literally 15+ hours on the phone. Every time I would call in there would be a 30+ minute wait time. I was given all sorts of promises like my account review had been escalated/prioritized and then days would go by with no updates. Finally on 10/7/2024 I was told my application was denied. I called in to find out why but they wouldn't provide any reason. I then tried to get my $6000 transferred back to my account and their systems had an error. I called in to get this corrected and they have to open a ticket to investigate. No ownership of any customer issue taken by anyone at interactive brokers. I asked to speak to a manager/supervisor or any leader and was told that was not possible. Seriously, DO NOT TRUST THIS COMPANY. The absolutely worst run company I've ever experienced. I wish I could give them a 0 star rating.

These guys are crooks. You'll find that out when you try to transfer positions out of your account, get hit with a $15! inactivity fee, $1 PER TRADE, and charges for the LEAST bit of information. They should be banned from operations in the US by the FTC and SEC.

I am not permitted to talk to IB, the custodian of my IRA funds. The only way to withdraw IRA funds is for IB to act. This is a catch 22 - and looks to be a clear breach of fiduciary duty. A brokerage firm and a hedge fund had to act on my behalf to facilitate a broker to broker IRA transfer - and even with this help it took 13 days. The IB website has a spot to initiate such a transfer, but the links are inactive. Do I recommend placing your money with Interactive Brokers? Absolutely not. Whenever you deposit / invest funds you do so with the expectation of getting them out in a reasonable time. Without the 3 firms facilitating on my behalf I fully believe IB would not have released the funds or even acknowledge my existence. Was I ‘harmed’ by this situation – yes. I incurred delays in funding a new investment and did not receive returns for that period. Substantial time and stress / distress were involved trying to withdraw funds from a firm which refused to communicate with me. Hopefully the IRS will recognize I did not take a distribution and it was a broker to broker transfer, but that remains to be seen. Open questions from the experience: I could not talk to the IRA custodian (IB) holding my money. To withdraw funds, IB as the IRA custodian is the only firm which can act to send funds to another firm. Isn’t refusing to communicate with a depositor a breach of fiduciary duty? Are the delays encountered (13 days from transfer initiation to wire transfer) intentional to retain funds for their use (float, etc.) or merely incompetence? It was suggested to me that the extensive delays could be for security purposes. How can that be as they never spoke to me or had any additional security steps – aside from me transferring a few bits from the wet signature transfer form into the IB system (after logging in)? The security steps used by the receiving IRA custodian initiating the transfer were much more extensive.

The A plus rating is not based on their product. The website only allows one window at a time, if you try to open a new window, then cuts you off. I use many other brokers sites and being able to have several windows open at the same time is extremely important. As a buyer, I am focused on more than just one stock at a time. I am monitoring many different ones and want the ability to be able to purchase the stock when I would like. It is not possible with the IKRB site. And if you attempt to sign into the App while your computer is logged into the website, it will force you to log out and not allow you to use both at the same time. The only thing that is good about IKRB is the margin rate, but with a site like they have, then not really worth it at all. Why would a investor want to stay frustrated by the strange behaviors of their website. My computer is brand new and have a great ****** Tablet, and I have no problem with 5 other brokers, but this one, the site is buggy all the time and not allowing to have more than one tab open, ridiculous.

Warning!! Please away from this company! Zero star!!! 1. I can guarantee that their trading platform would be the worst you ever encountered on earth. 2.They claim they have low margin rate, but they would sell your stock at lost without notifying you, on day 2 when you use your margin. Unlike other companies, they gave you 3 days to deposit more fund into your account. They simply assume you are poor and they do whatever they want to take your money. 3. when I try to transfer my stock to other company, they reject me 10 times for different reasons. I could screenshot that if this website allow me to. I end up deposit more an more money into their account, just to get my kidnapped stock back. Although I have more than $2000 cash balance in account already. So far, still depositing more, no luck with that. Unlike other places, when you use ACH to directly withdraw from Your bank, it’s instant or holding 3 days only. They told me they hold the fund 44 days and during that time, I can’t touch my money and stock! I can’t transfer to any place, they will hold that for 44 days! What?! Maybe after 44 days, they will come up with any other excuse and won’t let me transfer my stock and money, be careful, it may take you years to get your money back once you deposit it into their account.

I've been an IB customer for five years. It's true, as the commenters here say, that Customer Service is often awful -- frequently they do not even acknowledge, let alone respond to, customer service requests -- and the whole feel of the place is completely impersonal and anonymous. (Their name has to have been chosen ironically!) So if you want something other than that, go elsewhere. In their favor though, they provide a lot of things no one else can come close to, their margin loan rates are about 1/4 of everyone else's, and unlike other brokers, when they lend our shares out to short sellers, they split the interest with us rather than keeping it all for themselves, which can sometimes add hundreds of dollars a month to our income -- without us lifting a finger. The one big complaint I have about them is that their huge custom trading platform, "Trader Work Station", or "TWS", is not well-integrated with their web-based customer portal, which is where they communicate with you (on those rare occasions when they do!) and where you have to go to retrieve your up-to-the-minute balances, run all your reports, etc. Often the link between the two fails, as you're trying to go from one to the other, and you have to start all over again; this is better on some days, but worse on others. So overall, it still works for us; I actually like how different they are from the other brokerages (and I've used just about all of them). You just have to be prepared to make all your own decisions, and if something goes wrong you have to figure out why yourself, and fix it. One final note: for some weird reason, unlike all the other brokers I've used, you can't get a real time summary report of account activity on the day in which it occurs; you have to wait till the next morning.

Incompetent non working Interactive Brokers internet site and customer service. I have repeatedly called and repeatedly sent emails to submit a selfie and ID to Interactive Brokers. None of the links they send me work. There is always an error message that says "'Failed to renew Document Upload URL. If you have further questions please contact Support"" Support only responds by sending the same non working link. Has anyone else had this issue with Interactive Brokers? Who would possibly use one of their advisors? I have a doctorate so my English is good enough to work all other investments sites except apparently Interactive Brokers. I do need an account that I can trade in stocks internationally. If anyone has the name of a company that actually works, please advise. Thank you. Kindest regards,,,
