I boarded my dog at this facility. She “broke out” of her kennel and found a bag of treats that was left out accidentally and she suffocated. The company called me to tell me she was dead and that was the only time they called. I just shared what happened to my dog and the company started harassing me, mistating facts, and sharing personal information and messages about me. The reason I didn’t report this sooner was because I was 9 months pregnant when it happened and the trauma I went through had me barely functioning. I’m finally able to talk about what happened. They have also implied I should find out “what really happened” to my dog, making me fear there was Ill intent that was not mentioned. I can’t describe how hard this has been to go through. I would like the business and anyone associated with them to stop contacting me or sharing my personal information. I never tried to sue or anything.

      Business Response

      Date: 02/09/2023

This is in response to Ms. ********* complaint.   We are very sorry about what happened to ****.  It was a terrible accident to which we accepted full responsibility for. We contacted them immediately and followed up later that day and that week.  We paid for ****'s cremation and the return of her cremains to the family out of state. The company is not harassing her or her family or sharing any of her personal information.  Until recently, her sister had worked for our company for over almost two years.  We offered to make a statement regarding what happened to ****, however was told by Ms. ******* that she didn't want her sister to "blame herself".  Her sister later told us that Ms. ******* blamed her for what happened to ****. In addition, the reason Ms. ******* decided to "come forward" with this was in response to a conflict among coworkers in the company that involved her sister.  I have attached her threat to my company which clearly states her intention of exploiting her deceased dog for her own personal benefit.

We are very sorry for the ******* Family's loss of **** and we accept full responsibility and have accepted that since it happened on November 7, 2021.  Unfortunately, they have now used this accident to seek revenge for their sister's argument with a former coworker.  RIP ****.

      Sincerely,

      Elena and Marcus C****

      Customer Answer

      Complaint: ********

I am rejecting this response because: The intent of my complaint was to seek help in stopping harassment from this company’s employees. The attachment shared by the company shows I reached out to the owner to request help directly. She has ignored any request I made and seemingly supports her employees harassment. The response email included numerous false statements such has but not limited to: sharing personal information, reaching out after my dog died, offering to make a statement, blaming my family member for what happened, and employees harassing me. It does seem that after I made this claim the harassment has stopped, so no further action should be needed. That being said, I rejected the response as it was irrelevant to the intent of this claim and filled with false statements. It was also very hurtful to see they say requesting to stop harassment from their employees is a “personal benefit” for me.  The death of my dog has been a heavy burden on my heart every day since it happened, and to share my experience has no personal benefit to me.

      Sincerely,

      **** *******
