I received a bill for $16,733.43 for a property that I never owned. The reference number was *******. This is harassment. The company should check for real owners before sending tax collection notices. Also the notice involves ********** ********** *** with whom I never had any relationship

      Ms. *********:

It appears that this tax collection notice was not addressed or sent to the you.  Rather, a tax collection notice was addressed to ********** ********** *** at its address of record with the tax collector and assessor of the City of **********.  Quite often when a tax collection notice is sent to a tax delinquent at its address on record, that notice is "Returned to Sender", because the tax delinquent had vacated the premises.  Every time in the past when this has happened, the current occupant at that address simply writes "return to sender" on the envelope and puts it back to the post office. Or if the recipient mistakenly opened the letter not addressed to him/her, that person reads and follows the instructions asking the recipient kindly to inform TaxServ by phone or email that we have the wrong address.  In this case, unfortunely, you did neither.  Instead, you opened a letter not addressed to you and assumed that it indicated some liability on her part and then filed with the BBB a complaint claiming harassment.  Nevertheless, it is with great gratitude that we can inform you that TaxServ will not send another tax collection notice to ********** ************ *** at the ** **** ****** ********** address.

      Thank you.

I am being asked to pay a city parking citation from the City of ********** which occurred on 12/31/2013 at ******* ******* *** ***** ******. On 12/31/2013 my vehicle, a black ****, was in ****** ** because I spent New Years Eve there with my college friends. I lived at this address for many months after this alleged citation and never once received a bill or notification. It wasn't until I was contacted by this "debt collector" in April 2023 that I was made aware of this citation. I wrote a letter to dispute this claim saying I have evidence that my car was with me in ******* ** on the given date and they wrote back saying "you do not have a valid dispute for a dispute". I tried calling to provide evidence that this ticket was invalid and the lady said we cannot dissolve outstanding parking citations only the city that issued it can. I had already contacted ********** parking authority and they told me they did not have record of this citation. This is a fraud and a scam and I refuse to pay $70 for a citation when it was impossible for me to get a ticket on this day due to my car being in ****** **. I don't understand how these companies stay in business and it saddens me to think people would not realize this is fraud and pay this company money.

TaxServ Capital Services, LLC (“TaxServ”) is the duly appointed delinquent parking ticket collector for the City of **********. The complaint involves a ********** parking ticket that you state you knew nothing about until receiving a notice from TaxServ.  You had phoned TaxServ and stated that the ticket could not have been on your car since you recall that you visited ****** at the time of the ticket and stayed in ****** for several months thereafter. TaxServ duly investigated the dispute and responded in writing providing the verification of the existence of the parking ticket.

Be advised that the  ********** Police Department has a website to locate parking tickets: **********    And if the caller mentioned a letter from TaxServ, the caller would have referred the caller back to TaxServ.

The existence of this ticket can be confirmed on the above mentioned website. Entering the citation number, license plate number, or VIN into the appropriate space provided allows for the acquiring a copy of the ticket.

Please note that this is the same ticket information provided to you by TaxServ. The ticket is real.  A ********** police officer wrote up the ticket.  Notice of the ticket was sent to the address on the registration of the vehicle.

The ********** police department cannot invalidate a parking ticket when there is no evidence to suggest that there is error. It is recommended that you pay the parking ticket either On **********’s website:  (**********) or at TaxServ’s: ***************, or just mail payment to the address on her notice.

Tried to py a T*** ** ********* Tax bill through this service. They asked for a reference number, I have no idea what number they are referring to. The employee became aggravated and hung up the call. I then called back and spoke to another employee who also hung up on me. I then called a third time to speak with a manager and they told me the manager doesn't speak to anyone on the phone. Extremely unprofessional to hang up on a person trying to pay a tax bill. I notified the **** ** ********* about the issues and they are going to ask the company for their side of the story,

You have stated that had called our office regarding your reference number and making a payment. and that the representatives were rude to you and would not provide the number.  Please note that you have made several payments on the online system, which you could have not completed without the reference number as provided in the letters we sent.  I assume that this issue is resolved.  As for rudeness, I do apologize if you feel that you did not get adequate treatment from our representatives, I will make sure that this issue is addressed.

      Thank you.

I made a 1669.80 payment to this company on march 2, 2022. The representatives give insufficient information when collecting money. I was told 2 days, then 10 days, then 12 days. I spoke to a rep who confirmed that 3/18/2022 my file would be released, and today they gave me another story. I want to either be released as promised by 3/21/2022 or refunded my money so that i do no business with them.

      Complaint: ********

I am rejecting this response because:
I was continuously denied information on my claim meanwhile tax serv held my funds for those days of me being an inquiring customer. I was also continuously denied a manager from the start before escalating. I understand the nature of payment, however i reject because before this the company offered me absolutely no solution or information.
      Sincerely,

In a letter dated March 1st 2022, a company named TaxServ Capital Services LLC is claiming that my wife and I owe a total of $196.58 by March 31st 2022. They say that this is for delinquent motor vehicle / property tax due to the town of ********* for the tax years 2009 and 2010. We have paid our taxes religiously and have never gotten a notice from the town of ********* about that taxes and in fact sold our home in April 2021 and paid off any taxes due to the town of ********* to get a formal lein release from the bank. I have gone online and see that other people have gotten similar fraudulent notices of monies due from this company. I believe they should be investigated both civilly and criminally thank you.

TaxServ Capital Services, LLC (TaxServ) is the duly appointed tax collection agent for the Town of *********.  TaxServ is a debt collector and acts in strict compliance with all the laws applicable to tax collection.  ******* ****** has said that he received a tax delinquency notice where he asserts a fraudulent claim that he owes taxes to the Town of *********.

Attached is the personal property delinquency notice that was sent.   The notice does not relate to the *******’ real property or motor vehicle taxes – all of which had been paid. The notice is addressed to a company named ***** ******** *** *** ****** ********* **** * ******* ******’s wife’s maiden name.  ******* ******’s wife appears on the public record to be a principal of this corporation.  The delinquency relates to the 2008 and 2009 personal property taxes assessed against **** ******* ****

Life Matters Inc. was formally dissolved on October 12, 2011.  At the time of the dissolution the 2008 and 2009 taxes were due and owing.  As explained in paragraph 2 of the Personal Property Taxpayer Information Sheet provided, when a company is dissolved leaving unpaid tax debts, shareholders or officers of a terminated business who keep the accounts or sale proceeds of the delinquent entity’s assets without paying delinquent property taxes become liable for paying the taxes.

The delinquency notice invites **** ******* *** and Mrs. ****** to provide evidence to dispute liability for this tax.   In this case that evidence would consist of an explanation of what happened to the assets of the company (including accounts on hand and receivable) upon dissolution.  Those assets should have been applied to pay the delinquent taxes.
