Earlier in October I was having a heating issue I called my oil provider Dutch Oil to come check it out, waited all day when they finally showed around 430 pm, they said the issue was a thermostat, so they changed it charged me over 300 dollars, almost immediately after I had an oil leak from the furnace. I assume the technician messed with the furnace while at my home, but I never received an itemized receipt or anything from Dutch Oil instead they used the 500 dollar deposit, never told me the cost of anything. A week or so later I called (I was out of town) oil still coming from the furnace so I scheduled another appointment for today, supposed to arrive between the hours of 10am and 2 pm, no show, no call nothing. Still leaking oil with no contact from Dutch. I am frustrated, everytime my heat comes on the leak starts, and I know when Dutch Oil does eventually show they will probably fix the issue and charge me another 500 dollars. They lose a customer after today.

Hello ****** We looked into this account to make sure we address your concerns. We strive to have our customers happy at the end of the day and didn't like seeing that you felt unhappy about our service. We are on call 24/7 for our auto delivery customers and it looks like we tried to get you on auto delivery a few times in the last year or so. As a will call customer, we can't always come out for service if our books are busy but we make exceptions as we can. We saw you do get oil from us on a will call basis often, so we did come out to you for service right away. Looks like we got a call for no heat so we replaced the thermostat. All was good after we left. Then we got a call about a month later, you had a leak. We noticed the unit hadn't been cleaned in several years so we did a cleaning and the leak was taken care of from that. The deposits are only needed for service if we have a customer not on auto delivery typically. You actually have a small credit on your account too from what was not used out of the deposit. Lastly, we actually discounted the 2nd visit since we had been out there recently and felt we shouldn't charge the full amount. Please call us or reach out to go over any details you wish. We hope you reconsider the review since we did do everything we could to help, and service you with professionalism, responsiveness and discounts.

Dutch Oil purchased "aligned" with Lou's Oil Service sometime late fall 2021 here in Connecticut. Unbeknown to Lou's customers, as Dutch continued to deliver fuel. After unreturned calls to the Lou's number on the invoice left at my door this past winter, I emailed. Furnace cleaning and questions on steep increases per gallon. To not receive a call back or ANY response, I declined future service by paying the LAST astronomical fee of $784 on March 2, 2022 for 145 gallons with instructions NOT to provide any further deliveries. ... here is where it gets very concerning .... Fortunately I was home during an Unexpected delivery August 2, 2022. (5 months later) I spotted the "Dutch Oil" truck and questioned the serviceman as to why, who, what, when?? He pulled the hose out of the pipe and scurried back to the "Dutch Oil" truck and left a Lou's Oil invoice on my porch for 35.2 gallons x $5.149 = $181.24. almost a dollar more than the going rate. I called the number on the invoice during office hours not to reach a person, received an email explaining how I could be taken off an automatic plan, (that I NEVER signed with either company)! I had left messages that I couldn't believe I was receiving oil as I no longer wanted service and have not since March. Now 5 months later this character shows up. What would have happened if I was NOT at home to identify this POOR BUISNESS PRACTICE? Who else are they Gouging and hiding behind a different business name? I have since paid the going rate my current Oil Company delivers. I know it would be considered unjustified enrichment not to pay. Since they have not returned to siphon the fuel - I mailed a check for $155.00 (fair rate) paid in full.

Good afternoon ********, We are terribly sorry to hear about this experience you have had. We want you to know that we are truly committed to our customers experience and providing the best possible customer service. Dutch Oil Inc is a family business in small town that cares about our customers. We have been an accredited business with BBB with an A+ rating and 0 complaints since 1999. Dutch Oil is DBA (doing business as) Lou's Oil and we share drivers and trucks. Sometimes our Dutch Oil truck is in the area and could deliver to a Lou's Oil customer or vice versa. We apologize if that was not clear to you, we are not hiding behind any business name we can assure you. Do you remember who you emailed about a furnace cleaning? Can you forward that email to us? We cannot find an email or any evidence of a call to cancel service/deliveries. If something fell through the cracks on our end, we want to make sure we rectify so it doesn't happen again (with you or any other customers). As far as the oil, we appreciate you being fair to pay us for what we delivered. We will look for that check to come in, we have not received anything yet. The rate on the day we delivered was a daily rate, most of our customers are on price protection programs so that when rates rise, they don't pay those daily rates. As a full-service company, we have more value in our price per gallon and are not typically comparable with the one man truck companies. We are a very ethical business and would never gouge anyone. Please accept our sincere apologies if we were not clear about the relationship between the 2 companies. We hope that you understand we do take all of this very seriously and do not typically have unsatisfied customers.
