I purchased a car from Hoffman **** New London in June 2020. I purchased the car with a sizable amount of cash then decided to take out a small loan to help build my credit. Upon purchasing the car, the dealership attempted to register the car for me in ***** ****** where I lived at the time. They repeatedly asked me for information to prove my residency which I provided multiple times to their satisfaction and yet they never registered the car under my name nor sent the title to the bank who holds the lien on my car. Eventually, I moved to ******* to finish college and Hoffman still did not register my car, so I took it upon myself to register it and was able to without issue. My ******* registration expired, and it was time for me to register my car in ***** ****** again in January 2022. However, upon contacting the bank looking for the title, they stated that they never received the titling paperwork from Hoffman **** New London. After hearing this, I began working with the Sales manager trying to figure out what happened to my title. After some searching, we were able to find that the title was not with the Connecticut, ***** ******, or ******* DMVs (** doesn't require proof of title to register) or with the bank leaving Hoffman **** being the last people to physically possess the title. The bank insists that it is Hoffman Audis responsibility to resubmit the titling paperwork. The dealership refuses to cooperate with me. They always say they will email or call me back and they never do. Meanwhile my car I purchased from them is sitting in my garage unable to be driven or sold due to them never submitting the titling paperwork. I constantly have to borrow cars to get around. I still have to pay off my car and I am still paying insurance, but I cannot drive the car due to the dealerships mishandling of paperwork and refusal to work with me through this issue. I simply need them to send the titling paperwork to ** ******.
