Ms. T. H*******, Domestic and General, Executive Resolution Specialist wrote and asked that we write this review. Ms. H******* was very helpful in getting our policy from D&G rescinded. Everything else about D&G was a total dud. Our less that 5-yr. old ******* *** side-by-side refrigerator (a product of *********) failed in early February, We promptly reported this to *********, & at that time we were urged to purchase a 1-yr. service contract from D&G for $48.70/mo. This despite the fact that the dead 'frig was still in factory warranty. Why this was needed was unclear, but the inference from ********* was this would expedite the repair/replacement. Fat, chance! It was not clear then or for some time who D&G was--an affiliate of ********* or an independent company. After some digging, I found that D&G is owned by a multinational company, apparently unrelated to *********. During the ensuing almost three mos. and 7 SERVICE CALLS, it was never clear who was running the repairs. The service tech, a good guy, always called ********* tech support while he was here. One thing was clear, both ********* and D&G were indifferent to our inconvenience. Finally, *********, not D&G, replaced the dead frig. on Tues., May 6, almost 3 mos. or a 1/4 of a year after the old 'frig died. During the entire process, D&G seemed to do nothing but answer a few calls and bill us monthly for $48.70.. Then, after ********* finally delivered the replacement 'frig, D&G stated that they expected us to continue payment on the 1-yr. service contract. At this point, I personally go involved and advised the D&G rep. that (a) I am an attorney (member of the Texas Bar), (b) D&G had breached the contract by failing to do anything, and (c) we were rescinding the contract for D&G's failure to perform, i.e., no repair or replacement. At this point Ms. H******* got involved and confirmed rescission of the contract. We have NOT been refunded our three payments.Domestic & General

To provide clarity regarding Timeline of Events and Service Plan Coverage: • On 2/11/2025, you contacted ********* to report issues with your KitchenAid refrigerator. At that time, ********* recommended a Repair & Protect service plan from Domestic & General (D&G). • The terms and conditions of the plan were provided to you by email on the date of purchase. • Your appliance was promptly scheduled for service under the new plan, with multiple attempts made to repair the unit. Communication occurred regularly among you, D&G, and ********* regarding the status of these efforts. • After several unsuccessful repair attempts, ********* deemed your refrigerator non-repairable and approved a replacement as the manufacturer. • Because the manufacturer replaced your unit, the service plan was no longer applicable and D&G canceled the contract. The cancellation fee stipulated in your terms and conditions was waived. Refund Eligibility: According to the Repair & Protect service plan’s terms: • The service covers costs associated with repairs and attempts to restore product functionality. • If a unit is found non-repairable after multiple qualified service calls, and is replaced by the manufacturer, the plan is considered fulfilled for that appliance. • Multiple service calls were performed for your unit. Therefore, as outlined in the service agreement, eligibility for a refund following substantial service attempts is not available. Summary: We understand the process was lengthy, and recognize the inconvenience you experienced. Your contract was handled according to established procedures and with the intention of reaching a resolution. While a refund is not available due to the service provided, we appreciate your feedback. We understand the frustration caused by your refrigerator’s failure and the multiple service calls required over several months. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience you experienced. My Whirlpool washer broke after just 15 months of ownership. The part needed was on an indefinite backorder with no ETA of receiving the part. D & G took care of it in a timely fashion and replaced my broken down washer with a brand new one of better quality. Communication was great and the delivery drivers were excellent and very caring. So glad I have D & G on all my appliances. Money well spent. I highly recommend them for anyone's service contract because they just don't make things like they used to. Contracted with D & G on a Whirlpool dishwasher that had continuous problems. Their service to call out a repairman is efficient and the repairmen were competent and timely. If the appliance can be fixed it will be fixed no matter how long or how many trips it takes. When all else fails if all requirements of D & G are met and the appliance cannot be fixed they will replace it with a new one. After several months and it was clear the machine could not be fixed D & G did replace my dishwasher with a new one. The new machine was the exact same type and model I originally purchased. Their replacement service is well organized with timely updates on when the machine will be delivered. The delivery service does not install the new machine or haul away the old one. That was on me. After receipt and inspection of the new machine once you sign the receipt and accept it the new machine it has no warranty and no return. D & G cancelled their service contract on the dishwasher as all requirements had been fulfilled. Based on my experience if a repair or replace contract is what you want I found them to be the right service to protect your investment.Domestic & General

I'm sorry to say I'm very disappointed with D&G. Customer Service is very cordial and pleasant, and they try to help, but they seem to serve more as a gatekeeper to control access to case managers and supervisors. My experience is they did not replace my unit (when they could not fix the problem) with what their agreements states is supposed to be a "new appliance of the same or similar make and technical specification as your covered product." They replaced it instead with a smaller, distractingly and unusually noisy refrigerator. After bringing this to their attention, and after it appeared they would correct this, they then declined. Essentially, they would not honor their agreement because they said, of a policy of the appliance maker they partner with.Domestic & General

Estoy muy contenta con el servicio, llame el lunes por teléfono para decirles que mi batidora kitchenaid ya no funcionaba, no prendía y me dijeron que de 2 a 3’dias se ponían en contacto conmigo por teléfono o correo electrónico, me atendieron en español, porque no sé hablar inglés. Y para el jueves me escribieron y me dijeron que si era elegible para reponer mi batidora con una nueva. Me mandaron link de la tienda donde yo la había comprado para que aceptara o no si estaba bien la que me decían, para el día siguiente, vierne ya me la habían entregado. Súper buen servicio y atención. Y sobretodo, que también hablan español aunque sea una compañía de Estados Unidos.
I'm very happy with the service. I called on Monday to tell them that my KitchenAid mixer wasn't working anymore. It wouldn't turn on. They told me they would contact me by phone or email within 2 to 3 days. They answered me in Spanish because I don't speak English. On Thursday, they wrote to me and asked if I was eligible to replace my mixer with a new one. They sent me a link to the store where I bought it so I could decide whether or not to buy the one they told me was OK. By the next day, Friday, they had already delivered it to me. Super good service and attention. And above all, they also speak Spanish even though they're a company from the United States.
