I had gotten vinyl siding done by this company in May on the 26th of 2023. There is a limited warranty in the contract for defects, which I had reached out to the contractor last week due to the siding starting to come off and I have heard no response back. I have pictures of the siding and the contract.

Wesley N******, owner of Coastal Construction, began work on my home on 8/25/23. He was contracted to gut and rebuild my kitchen/bathroom, lay flooring, replace storm doors and windows in foyer, replace radiator covers, and repair garage door. His estimated time of completion was 6 weeks from his start date. He assured me that he would be at my house from 9a-3p once he began. Since 8/25/23, he has done a total of 25 hours of work in 5 weeks. Per his contract, he stated he would send progress photos every Thursday. I have received none. As of today, 10/1/23, the only work he has done is demo, install one of two storm doors, and partially install a tub. He states that the money given ($12,290) was already spent on kitchen cabinets, tub/shower, and vanity. None of those materials are in the home and he has been unable to produce any evidence of purchase. Wesley has made claims that he has been unable to come to the house because of hospitalization, truck transmission, and today, alleges that his truck was totaled. He has not followed through on any of his promises, has ignored texts and calls, and will not provide a refund for money given for no work done. He was told to return the house key today and has failed to do so. He has been caught in multiple lies and has been unreliable and dishonest from the very beginning. So, now 5 weeks later, I am out $12,290 and have to hire a new contractor.

I am writing to file an official complaint and share with the BBB that I am demanding a refund of a deposit and compensation for subpar work completed on a bathroom and mudroom remodel project by Coalstal Construction. Pursuant to the contract dated March 15th, 2023, I have paid a total of $67,000 to Coastal Construction. However, they have failed to perform to industry standards and are not responding to requests for arriving at a solution. They have demonstrated poor workmanship across the board, a lack of skill in managing a project with multiple trades, and a consistent failure to meet deadlines and commitments. I am also alleging fraud as it is evident they took on this project without the necessary experience as represented in our conversations prior to contract execution. This misrepresentation has caused them to breach our contract and perform unsatisfactorily. Their contract, and subsequent non-performance also violate both the Connecticut Home Improvement Act and the Connecticut Unfair Trade Practices Act. I went with Coastal Construction because they were able to start right away, represented they had the skills required to perform these tasks, and that they would complete the project in a 7 week timeframe. Additionally, the workmanship has been subpar and approaches a level of performance expected from untrained, inexperienced amateur workmen. The floor has been damaged due to poor care post installation, the floor was done using the wrong materials, the paint on the walls and trim does not come close to industry standards, the wrong baseboards were installed, and the ceiling was texturized to hide poor workmanship. I have attempted to resolve this matter with them in good faith and have made my concerns clear throughout the course of the project. I have spoken to them about fair compensation for the substantially subpar work and incomplete work performed under the contract and they have blocked my number and refused to discuss an agreement.
