I am writing to file a formal complaint against Cote Towing regarding their abusive practices, particularly when it comes to low-income families. My concern is that Cote Towing has been exploiting vulnerable individuals and engaging in unethical behavior in our community. Here are the details of my complaint: 1. Targeting Low-Income Housing Projects: Cote Towing has been consistently patrolling low-income housing projects, seizing vehicles, and towing them away. While towing is a legitimate business, their actions have raised questions about their motives, especially since they frequently tow vehicles in low-income areas. 2. Exorbitant Charges: Numerous reports have surfaced of Cote Towing charging significantly more than the reasonable fees for towing and impound services. They appear to exploit the financial difficulties faced by low-income families, asking for more money than they are legally entitled to. 3. Intimidation and Harassment: Cote Towing has been accused of intimidating single mothers and other low-income individuals who are already struggling financially. This includes aggressive tactics, such as demanding immediate payments under duress and creating a hostile environment. 4. Lack of Transparency: There is a lack of transparency in Cote Towing’s pricing policies and practices. It is essential for businesses to provide clear and detailed breakdowns of fees, which does not seem to be the case with this company. I believe these actions by Cote Towing are not only unethical but also harmful to our community’s most vulnerable members. I kindly request that the Better Business Bureau investigates these allegations thoroughly and takes appropriate action to ensure that Cote Towing adheres to ethical and legal standards. Furthermore, I urge the BBB to consider raising awareness about the importance of fair and transparent towing practices, especially in areas with a high concentration of low-income families.

COTE’S TOWING HOOK CARS WITHOUT WARNING AND RING DOORBELLS AND ASKS RESIDENTS TO PAY A FEE OF $125 DOLLARS TO UNHOOK THE CARS OR THEY WILL BE TOWED AWAY. THEY’VE DONE IT JUST TO FORCE RESIDENTS TO PAY CASH. IF PARKING RULES WERE REALLY BEING BROKEN, THEY WOULD TOW RESIDENTS AND NOT HOOK CARS AND RING THEIR BELLS TO TELL THEM “FOR $125 THEY WILL UNHOOK THE CAR”. IT IS PREDATORY TOWING AND BLACK MAILING. THEY’VE DONE IT SO MUCH THEY EXPECT RESIDENTS TO HAVE $125 IN CASH LAYING AROUND FOR THEM TO COLLECT.
