My second bad review for this company. After closing my account several weeks ago I woke up this morning to a $50K withdrawal out of my savings account. I called the bank and we discovered FUNDRAISE had tried to withdraw this money illegally/without authorization. They should not have the ability to Withdraw funds.I now have had to freeze my savings account and need to change the account number. If you are reading this, Stay away from this company.

TERRIBLE organization! I deposited $90 to see if my bank would link correctly, they had NO issue taking the $90 out of my account. Now that I want a refund, they claim they can't do it unless I verify everything. If I needed to verify everything, why did they have no issue taking the money out of my bank?

A lot of hype advertised, with supposedly objective reviews popping up all over the net. Be skeptical.Apart from the most common complaint--your holdings just lose value; you are separated from your own money and have to jump thousands of hoops to get at it when you need it...I am incensed that they have chosen a placeholder financial services co., "INSPIRA" (which was rebranded from "MILLENIUM" due to the devastating online reviews that came its way under the old name) that further complicates your relationship with your own money.I complained to ********************* of Fundrise about the endless history of complications with Inspira. I am simply pasting in my last email to *********************. "The issue remains of STARTING OVER with each new call to Inspira. Lacking a consistent person to assist, always a blank slate. Also the requirement to use *************** each quarter to carve out the info. submitted last quarter...making process over elaborate...no thought to streamlining (nothing approaching the ease of using ****** for the same function...tradt'l IRA ************ think Fundrise shld rethink use of Inspira... Find a better organized operation, with better trained ppl. HAVE YOU READ YELP reviews for ******************** They ran away from their reputation by rebranding.I'm sure quite a number of others just suffer silently..."Notably, ************ of Fundrise brushed off my concerns. They are content, however unhappy clients are, because Fundrise has your money LOCKED UP (and somehow I think they delight in how Inspira further complicates your access to your own money).

Fundrise is a scam. They showed a ton of growth on my account over two years. Then, when I tried to close my account, it took months and during that time, my account value mysteriously decreased. All the gains I'd made disappeared. I just received my 1099 and my profit for two years and tens of thousands invested in their accounts was $45. This company is too much of a black box - you have no idea what you're actually invested in and it's too easy for them to just magically say you're doing well until you try to get your money - then you're screwed. Would not be surprised if they have a Bernie Madoff style legal action in the future.

Just like most of the complaints, you read on fundrise. It is very true, this is not only to confirm but my account (NAV) has drastically been reduced ever since I filed for a redemption of my shares, when my personal financial issues emerge a couple months ago, I filed and at the time I had about five thousand dollars in returns and then right after filling for redemption my account was reduced to 1,296 dollars over the next 6 weeks. After I express concern with my account they follow up with the same response about the interval funds policy and what they projected in the near future but the transparency of account actions on their platform seems very suspicious and they reply with the same response. Again once I filed for redemption then my account is reduced significantly every week after being invested for 4 &1/2 yrs, to now being unfairly penalized drastically with no clear explanation.

Fundrise at first blush is a real estate and technology investment platform that is intended for "non-institutional investors" - i.e., the average small investor - to get a piece of the institutional market and make large returns with "the big guns of Wall Street." However, "small investors" should question investment strategies that have poor liquidity (exemplified by the complaints found on Reddit and BBB, and mentioned in Fundrise's documents). For example, Fundrise offers "a variety of proprietary funds, ranging from real estate private equity to venture capital to private credit." While that sounds exciting, "proprietary" and "private" may mean less-regulated or not-regulated and thus an investor is in a high risk investment environment that the average investor may be ill-suited. Fundrise doesn't highlight it at their website, but they have a "hotel division" that attempts to purchase rental time from various timeshare ownership (or equivalent vacation property membership) that includes Mexico. Fundrise adds these properties to their asset portfolio. While they get a commission for such purchases, there are no guarantees of revenue stream to re-rent or re-sell the portfolio. The Annual Rate of Return for Fundrise 2023 YTD Through Q3 is -3.21% vs. SP500 +13.07%, and using a non-weighted average from 2017-2022, Fundrise was beaten by the SP500 by about 3% (using Fundrise's publicly available data as of today's date). As a small investor, consider other more liquidity-friendly, and higher yielding, investments. Right now, you can easily get CD's for 5.25% Annual Percentage Yield (APY).

I requested a liquidation of my account on 7/18. I checked in on October 1st, when the liquidation should have taken place. They claim I went back in on 7/28 and cancelled my request. I have no documentation stating i cancelled the request, and I know for certain that I did not. They’re now holding my money until January. This company is shady. Do not invest your money with them. Scam.

I invested over $10K in to Fundrise. I check in after a few years and they lost over 10% of my portfolio value. And when I want to talk to someone about it there is no option available.

Invested with them for 2 years and slowly made money. One day I logged in and I lost all of the gains and then a chunk of my principal, like 9% in total losses just out of the blue!! Now they changed their policy that you need $25K minimum in the account to waive the $125 annual IRA fee. It used to be just invest $3500 a year to waive it, so I will be hit with that fee soon. I now have no choice but to liquidate my account and lose yet another 1%! Big old scam!!
