Hired the company to clean our windows, screens, window sills, etc. Upon getting ready to leave we asked why one of the screens was not put back in the bathroom window. They told us that the window lock had broken and that 1 or 2 others were loose. When I checked the window lock was snapped off... it was clearly not broken prior to them or they would not have been able to clean the window or remove the screen. So I inspected the rest of the windows and found 4 more window locks that had been snapped/broken, leaving a total of 5 window locks broken. Had we not seen the screen (which they tried to hide) we would have never known about the broken window locks as they put them back and tried to hide the damage. I talked directly with the Owner and allowed him to inspect the windows and is refusing to pay for the damage.

We cleaned ****’s windows and screens in his home. ****’s girlfriend ***** was home during the entire cleaning process, **** wasn;t home at the time. My employees never tried to hide anything from them. My employees informed ***** that the plastic locks had broken off during the cleaning process. I explained to **** when I stopped by his home later to come to a mutual agreement that would work to settle this complaint. We are not liable for any window locks that are over seven years old and the material is made out of plastic. Plastic parts become brittle after 7 years and we weren’t directly responsible for this mishap. Due to the age of the windows and poor workmanship and quality of the windows. However I did tell **** that if he could find the clips that needed to be replaced and sent me a bill, I would be more than happy to replace . I also told ****, in the meantime he didn’t owe me a dime until we settled this dispute. **** currently has an outstanding invoice in the amount of $277.00 that I haven’t even billed him for. I told him worse case scenario he gets his windows cleaned for free. We have been more than fair in this dispute,. I tried to talk to **** about this matter and all he did was scream the whole time and tell me how he was going to ruin my business and that I was done doing anymore work in the area because he was going to ruin me and my business. Very unreasonable person to communicate with. He was screaming at me to get out of his house, which I left as he requested. As soon as I left his house I called his girlfriend ***** and told her I would do work with  them to settle this dispute in a reasonable manner. There was just no communicating with ****. He was very unreasonable, rude and disrespectful.

    Sincerely,

    Better Business Bureau:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to my complaint and have determined that this does not resolve my  issue.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

He never contacted my girlfriend after leaving my house, he never said that he would replace my window locks, and I will not be paying for the cleaning as he never finished the job and did not clean all of the windows and we had to clean up after his crew left. I have my roommate as a witness the day the owner “*****” showed up to verify my story as well. I wish no further contact from this business and will not be paying and bills he may try to send.
