Bill Cannon worked on my car 2 months ago, it was there for 3 months. He Installed a transmission and new clutch in my car. There was a issue with the clutch. I immediately went there and paid in full, without even receiving a bill yet. Bill said that was the only reason why he was still working on my car, I knew Bill was going to shed responsibility. Sketchy to say. Bill then agreed to get to the bottom of this and deal with my clutch company. But by then my car sat for 2 months his son Jeremy said it would be about a week. I never complained. I asked Amanda to please contact the clutch company before they do anything so everyone is on the same page. Bill promised me he was on top of this after I paid him, then he disappeared. I was dealing with his son Jeremy, they were sending the measurements back to the clutch company in Australia which is 14 hour ahead of time. So a logical person would open the transmission on Friday afternoon and when you show up on Monday Australia already took care of it. They did zero planning. So when Jeremy complained about my car being on the lift while they wait, I explained to him what I was going threw because of this. Having a car for 3 months is insane. I asked him if he would like being treated this way and he quit for the day. Bill Cannons then called me and blamed me for him and his sons relationship. Bill is abrasive to say the least, he then said to come pick up my car because I assaulted his son. We were talking over the phone. I used please and thank yous. Bill said come pick up my car with it being taken apart. I had until tomorrow to remove it or it's 125 a day. He also called me on his private cellphone told me to "suck his di.." and I might not like what he does to my car. He sent me a text saying he will never be around me without someone else, not sure if thats a threat or he's scared of me. It's irrelevant just trying to explain who I'm dealing with. He's a Payless now pay more mechanic.

    Business Response

******* is a customer that is his largest enemy. I really do not like it when people bring their parts because they tell me my time is not worth the price you pay for a good complete on time service. ******* has some idea of a mechanical back ground but does not understand the complete dynamic of a professional repair. I hired him once and he could not comprehend anything about how the repair had to be done. Engineering is part of any repair needed and if you cannot connect the dots, your useless. We parted gracefully only because of lack of the ability to start the job, fulfill the complete ending with detail exactly like the manufacture of the automobile requires. I am not a baby sitter and while *******'s idea of installing a high performance part, like this Spec Clutch kit is fine. But, the only reason he wanted to do it was because his words were I want to drop the clutch from a dead start with the engine at 6500rpm? I asked him why would you do this being it is illegal, reckless, and just plain stupid to intentionally try to break your nice car! He told me his response and I was not ready for it but here is what he said; "I want to do it because I can".

Getting to the repair, ******* purchased his clutch and asked me to install it. He did not care what it cost and he did not care about a timeline. He has other transportation is assume. So we removed the transmission drive train. The Spec Kit he purchased had to be set up to specific requirements that need to be checked and made sure exactly by the manufacture. ******* knows I am a professional engine builder with my own in house CNC machining facility to completely remove any engine from any car, repair it as well as machine every item in a brand new racing engine we offer. This is done by myself in my own machine shop at Bill Cannons Garage Inc.

High performance engines do not fail unless the builder does not do his job as required for the use the customers requires. Marine auto high performance engines do not fail unless you do it wrong. Bill Cannons Garage Inc. has never had an engine fail because every engine I take apart, inspect, machine to proper over and under sizes when I am done are run tested on our STUSKA dyno and tested and confirmed to be correct before being installed before you find and issue then do all the work again. When all machine work is done perfectly, assembled then tested by the same professional in his own facility always runs perfect and satisfied customers are what you get.

After installing the brand new flywheel, ***** noticed the engine locked up. He removed the flywheel bolts and seen where they were .060" to long. He called the company and they said we must have gotten the wrong bolt kit. With the machine shop next door, I just removed .060" off every high performance flywheel bolt and ***** reinstalled and the engine had the proper clearance and turned over perfectly. ***** installed the clutch, pressure plate and bolted everything down and the first measurement was supposed to a certain height and when we checked with the dial indicator and straight edge it was way over were it was supposed to be. ***** called the company and they told him that did not matter and would work fine. ***** told them this was the 1st setting that we checked and is out of specifications and you want it to be installed anyway. At this point ***** called **** and told him this and **** told ***** to install it because the company said it would be OK. Upon completion of the job, ***** started the engine and the clutch would not disengage when the pedal was all the way down. We just had the same thing on a 3rd gen Corvette with a HP kit and we had to take it all out on my dime and put it in and out for free until the proper kit was installed by us and sent the HP kit back. **** was aware of this.

A hydraulic clutch has no adjustment and was clear of all air as well as ******* drove the car and the clutch worked flawlessly. ***** called the company and that is where the whole repair went very bad. We have appointments and are backed up on major repair for two months all the year long. ******* came up and I told him he would have to pay for this job and we would get back on it asap. Sorry about buying your own aftermarket parts. ******* paid the repair off and was responsible for whatever time it takes us to find the problem and the company told ***** that these cars have issues with the hydraulic clutch systems and had to be the problem. ***** told Steve that *******'s car work perfectly and there was nothing wrong with the hydraulics. So then this went on and when we got it back in, we removed all of it, checked it out and the only specific problem was the height of the pressure plate resting. We did find all other measurements to be well within everything the kit needed to be and my self and ***** checked out. We did find the flywheel was in the 9.025mm and there were two flywheel flange thicknessess. Guess what, the other was 9.5mm. This is the amount of distance we had to remove the .060" off the flywheel bolts.

**** was complaining to Jeremy after ***** had let me know that morning the differences on the bolts proves the wrong clutch thickness because the amount was almost exactly because of the bolt distance I removed. Jeremy told the company the combination that was most likely had wrong parts for the kit. **** somehow was very rude with Jeremy my part time service manage and Jeremy said he was done talking with ****. At this point **** was found out to be very pushy and ignorant enough for Jeremy to leave his position. Jeremy will be back at work on Monday coming and at this time I contacted **** and told him to have his car removed from my facility, pay me off in cash and have your car out of my shop in twenty four hours because knowing that I do not have time to baby sit *******'s wanting to be ignorant. He came in, paid me off and had his car towed out and I let him know that he would never be able to have any repairs in my facility again being rude to not only Jeremy but to Amanda after I asked her how he treated her and found he was pushy and domineering.  I did not have anything to say but was very disappointed with ******* and had Amanda tell him exactly how she was treated by him and before I done something else with the assistance of removing him from my property happened, e was instructed to wait outside and I assisted the tow truck driver loading up his car and took pictures of everything inside the car as well as the car. I do not put anything past ******* would say or do but I do know he did not let the readers of the BBB to know about the domineering affect of people is not cool and ******* could not get buy with doing it because my employees are me. The way he treated them comes back to his way of treating me. He was informed of this and at best cowardly was removed outside until the tow truck left.  Be careful when you think your better than what you think you are. Professionals are required to be a professional when dealing with any customer. I could of done better and will try to be better next time also. I learn from people every day.

Better Business Bureau: I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to my complaint and have determined that this does not resolve my  issue.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below. **In order for the bureau to continue to assist you, you MUST provide your view on the matter or your complaint will be closed as answered. Bill is again wrong from the beginning.  The clutch wasn't a Spec 1,2 or 3.  It's a XClutch from Australia!  Me telling him I want to dump my clutch at 6500rmps was just to shut Bill up.  He never said my clutch wasn't proper until it didn't disengage.  I never went into my car and tried the clutch, that's a lie.  They said it doesn't work, I said we'll diagnosis it and fix it.As far as working for him, that was for 3 days after he first worked on my car.  He had a mechanic nodding out working on cars.  Bill told me he had to run to the gas station to find his mechanic and he was passed out at 12pm.. Unfortunately that's probably not narcolepsy.  So I offered to help to try to get some lift time to fix my exhaust and front stack that Bill reenginnered.  After three days I said wow this guy is a jerk to his current employees.  And I quit before Bill said one bad thing to me.  His comments only come after.  I saw a brand new engine get installed at thus shop and the customer called back saying it was leaking oil.  Black Chevy pick me up.  Loose filter and lines!!I don't trust a mechanic that would say he's never had a engine blow up.  It happens everyday on drag cars, to the best builders.Bill I was outside because thats what you requested.  You actually said I was served not to come into your facility via text, because your son ran home.Bill is lieing.
