In October 2022, I hired D.T. Driggers Roofing to put a new roof on my house. I spoke to the father before the job was started and he was one of the nicest men I have ever dealt with. Things turned around after I paid the bill. Here is a list of issues I have had and am still dealing with. The electricity was knocked out on my walkway while the men were working on the roof; I have a leak on my porch; roofing debris all over my garage and in my bathroom because they did not cover the vents; there are two big holes in my driveway where they didn't put anything under the dumpster; I have had two flat tires on my lawn mower because they didn't pick up all the nails in my yard; and all around the house, there are 2 inches of nails coming through all the eves and porch. When the father came to collect the check, I went over all these items and he said he would have someone he trusted come out and go over the damages. No one came out and haven't seen him since. I have called at least 10 times and his son refuses to answer. My daughter went to their place of business and no one was there so she called. The son told her he would have someone out to my house that week, but no one ever showed. I have a 5 year warranty that they are not honoring. Be careful who you deal with.

There are a couple items that were mentioned in the complaint that we are aware of and a couple that we were not made aware of.  I have personally spoken with the owner over the phone on a few different occasions regarding the electric issues he is experiencing and a potential leak.  I made the statement that any electrical work will need to be done by a licensed electrician as we do not have any experience in electrical.  We do not know why an electrical circuit stopped working because no one has determined why or how.  An electrician will need to do that.  Roofing work will not affect electrical.  A loose wire may have come loose somewhere in the house because of vibration during the roof work but again this has to be sourced by an electrician.  I have never seen an electrical circuit stop working during a roof replacement so this not something Normal.  I was also made aware of a leak which we sent the owner of the company and a foreman back to the home to source and repair.  If the leak is still persisting we can come back out to reevaluate.  I apologize for the mix up and delay on this.  We will happily honor our warranty and reevaluate if there is a leak.  I will call the owner to set this up.
regarding nails showing through the exposed soffits, I explained to the owner that building code requires nails to be applied to the roofs eave drip to secure it to the roof deck and extend through the deck a minimum of 1/4”.  When a home does not have a soffit cover you may see some of these nails.  Exposed soffits are a character on older homes but building codes today require multiple nails in the eave drip (every 2”) so there is not much you can do to avoid some of the nails being visible in an open soffit.  And regarding nails in the yard, we do multiple sweeps with magnets throughout the job and at the end as part of a final clean up.  It is possible that nails in deep grass may not find the magnet.  I apologize for any nails missed.  We can do another sweep for nails with our magnets while out looking at the potential roof leak.

I was not aware that debris was in the bathroom from a vent opening.  Debris can come through vent openings during a roof replacement and we will happily clean any up if we are made aware of it or see it happen.  Again, I apologize for any debris that came in during the replacement but I was not made aware of this.  I was also not made aware of any impressions in the driveway from a dumpster.  We use a dumpster that sits on tires (a pull trailer) so our tires would not have left indentions.  Old Driveways have imperfections and I feel the imperfections were there before we came.
I will contact the homeowner to arrange an appointment where we can look at the potential leak and clean for any debris or nails we missed.
