I entered into conract with Hero Construction in April 2021 for two black sliding windows for my Florida room. BC I'm a snowbird, installation was slated for November 2021. When installation was conducted, I noted to the installers that they were placing the wrong windows--they were putting in white double hung windows rather than black side by side sliders. The installers called the president of the company, *******************************, who told me the double hung were what I had ordered...absolutely not as the other six windows in this room are sliders and definitely not white! He also told me that they no longer make sliders!! ******* called me back a few days later and offered to reduce my cost by $750 if I accepted the white double hung. I said no. (And of course, he had already cashed my $3,500.) In addition, the installers broke my marble *****. Eventually, the company put in sliders. However, the job was never finished--no *****, no screens. ******* eventually sent out his window expert (with 40+ years experience) who told me that thes were the wrong windows to begin with; they should be fin windows; the windows that are installed don't even fit into the opening correctly. He (*****) told me he would inform ******* that I needed to have my money returned bc there is no way to fix what is here. Following numerous texts and phone calls with *******, he no longer responds to me other than to repeat that he is in bankrupsy. However, I am still finding his company (under new names) listed in websites and advertising "expert window installations" (even though he told me he was getting out of the window business) so he certainly is still in business. I would much rather have this issue rectified rather than go through the attorney general or file a lien against one of ********* companies (or ******* himself!). He IS in business and he hasn't the right to steal my money.

In June 2021 we signed up with HERO for windows. Through all that they have missed placed our orders, different financial quotes, sales pitches that seemed to be not true and general lack of communication that almost seems sexist because I am a female that bought the windows but my husband is the only one they will talk to. In trying to resolve the issues weeks will go by before anyone reaches out. If I reach out it’s like there’s no memory. And upon reading reviews from 2022 and on it seems like I am not the only one. If I have been misunderstood, misinformed or even scammed I would like a resolution.

    Hello ********

As the collection company explained we need to be paid in full before any warranty items are completed. We have discussed our balance and need to be paid. Please read your contract. Have a nice day

    Complaint: ********

I am rejecting this response because:

I have reached out to both my HOA representatives and JRV construction. These are the findings.

I spoke with JRV over the phone and the manager does remember that day due to permits and scheduling your team was turned away. The second go around the wrong windows were installed and the manger stated that he supervised your team during installation due to “lack of experience and possible failure with inspection.” The manager also added that if he billed for every missed day his team misses then he’d be a millionaire.

My HOA responded and heres their response:
    HELLO ********,
Thank you for reaching out to us regarding the issue with Hero. We understand your frustration and would like to address your concerns. Please note that JRV has no control over the county building inspection department and cannot warranty the scheduling of your vendor. However, we are aware that your vendor came back a second day with the wrong type of windows and had to reschedule their work. When they came back the third time, the crew was inexperienced, and the owner of JRV Construction had to advise them on how the windows should be installed to pass inspection. JRV even called us that day to express their frustration and concerns that if they did not intervene, the rest of the project could be halted if your vendor failed the inspection. Therefore, we were surprised to hear that your vendor is charging $500 for the missed day. We believe this charge is not valid since it was a scheduling conflict that was beyond our control. Please let us know if you have any further questions or concerns.

With all this in mind is this a frivolous charge? Is this best practice within the construction industry? Or is this a personal preference to your practice?

I would advise in talking to JRV directly as they were the ones that turned your team away. From one construction manager to another please reach out to settle that dispute.

    Sincerely,

    ******** ********

Thank you for your response ********. After speaking with you I am willing to offer you a discount of the $400+ and the balance would be $1,000 even if you settle the account. Your contractor turning our scheduled installers out for the day is your responsibility as we paid them for the day. You will have to collect from them. We aren't going to collect from them. let us know when your ready to settle the balance.

    Thanks,

    GP

I have had problems with this company from day one and it has now been over a year dealing with them. I am still waiting on my warranty paperwork and for ****** to address the latest in a series of leaks that he assured me a month ago would be taken care of within a week. My calls are not being returned and due to shady dealings with this company (switching contracts without letting me know the change and then charging me for the price of the original contract which was NOT installed), I am about to pursue a formal complaint to ********* Attorney General. I feel like I have been treated unfairly because I am a woman. I have been lied to and given the runaround from the beginning. I need my warranty paperwork and my leak fixed before I sustain any more damage to my home due to this company's incompetence.

As the owner I called the client personally. She had been calling an employee directly and not our office. We confirmed some of the statements were a little harsh but she wanted a response. Her warranty is on her contract and is honored. We will be sending someone out to identify if there is a problem and fixing it.

I am willing to give the business owner the chance to make things right. He told me yesterday 12/20 that he would have someone at my home next week to fix my leak. If this does not happen, I will reopen this complaint.

I entered into a contract with hero construction and titan solar power back in may 2022 as I recently inherited my mothers villa and couldn't get home owners Ins without a new roof. They made me a deal that if I got solar panels they would include the roof for the one price of $50,000 which they got me by financing through ********. Then in July put a hold on my house where I couldn't get a reverse mortgage without them being paid even though my job was financed through ********. Now the job is done and has been paid from ********. However hero construction is saying they are still owed money to them from titan and won't release my amount until that is resolved. I have been trying get a reverse mortgage because of my finances and am getting nowhere with hero as now they are not returning my calls. This has been going on since September and is now almost November. If there is anything you can do please help as the problem is between titan solar and hero construction. I have no additional liability to hero or titan.

This company promised me new windows, doors, and solar panels. I was approved for the loans, paid my $500.00 deposit; and contacted by the financing companies. I informed the loan companies, Good Leaf and Foundation Finance that until work is started or a startup date was provided I would not sign the agreements totaling $74,000 dollars. I was informed by the solar company that Hero Construction never submitted the necessary permits from the county. I contacted county and they confirmed no permit was requested. I've contacted the owner of company numerous time and left messages, emails, along with a certified letter to no avail. Both the solar company and window company have been to my home for measurement on two and three occasions. Nothing

We gave Hero Construction a down payment on a project that was since cancelled. They have told us over the last few months that they would return the deposit. We have requested this refund not less than a dozen times over the last couple months but they have not refunded it. We would like a refund of our deposit.

We paid everything in full as per our contract agreement. Months later they made a random unauthorized debt of $7125 without reason or notice of any kind. Whenever we have called to address this transaction all we could ever get is their call services. No responses.

Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2022/10/05) */ Sorry sir. Your payment never cleared. If you have a receipt of payment you can send to ********************** Consumer Response /* (3000, 7, 2022/10/13) */ (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.) Upon furthered clarification Hero Construction never debited our account when was authorized to do so at start of contract. They admit by phone being behind on their books by a minimum of 6 months. We will pay the funds when proper notice has been provided by invoice. At this time I would like to request an apology from Hero Construction for their poor business handlings (no notice to debit, no invoice provided prior to debit, poor book management, and now for stating that our payment never cleared).

I agreed to have Hero Construction to do a new roof, solar panels, back up battery, and tree trimming services on my house and gave them a $6,000 check which would be given back to me when they finished the job. They told me that if I go through them that they would have everything finished within a couple of weeks. I was told that they would start my roof on July 5, 2022. No one showed up until July 8. I had to call multiple times to figure out what was happening. I was expecting to have to solar panels and everything else done by the end of the month at the latest. I kept calling them asking what was happening and they said they were waiting for permits. On Aug 2 I called the city permit office because I wanted to know what was going on with my permits. They informed me that the reason the permit was not ever going to be approved was because Hero Construction company did not fill out the forms properly. I proceeded to call Hero to tell them why there was a problem with the permits. On Aug 26 I informed the president of the company that I was willing to pay for the services they provided but no longer wanted the solar panels. He agreed to give me a $2,500 rebate if I stayed with them. He tried to manipulate me to feel bad saying things like he was loosing money and he was almost going to fire someone. The panels were installed and working by Sept 1, 2022. On Sept 12 I got a notification on the ******* app that all the micro inverters are not responding. On Sept 14 I called Hero to inform them. They said that someone would contact me with in 24hrs. On Sept 14 I called again because no one contacted me. They said the same thing. I called ******* and found out that my batteries were not connected at all. I called Hero on Sept 19 and asked for an itemized receipt of all the things I am paying for. I also informed them that my microinverters are still not working and my battery not hooked up. They have still not responded to me or given my $6,000 check back.
