    This was my time filing my 2021 taxes with Liberty Tax on 3-7-2022 at ************************************. I provided all accurate information to tax preparer ***************************. This was my first time filing a 1099-*** and 2 of my girlfriends children so I wanted to make sure everything was done 100% correct since Ive never had an issue with doing my taxes previously myself using TurboTax, a W2, and no children in the past, but because now my job has changed to self employed and filing children, I needed the help. I paid them and outrageous $850 to do my taxes that year deducted out my refund. In 2021 the government was giving out child tax credits because of Covid WHICH I did not qualify for, *************************** was aware but went back into the system anyway without my knowledge or notifying me and added the child tax credits to my account knowing I was never married nor related to my girlfriends children which I have here on file in documentation. My taxes were fraudulently manipulated and not accurate at all. ****** also did not add my apartment number onto my tax return, ONLY the address. When I received an audit from the *** on October 9th 2023 in the amount of ******** interest has piled up on top of that because they could not reach me and notify me because the address was incorrect. The *** told me they had to investigate where I lived at when they closed the case years later. Now, when I finally found out why I owed so much it was because of the child tax credits and Interest. I went back to Liberty and explained and showed them what they did wrong, they refused to amend my taxes with a 1040x, refused to file my 2023 taxes and kicked me out of their building (I had to call the police) . I spoke with the owner *************************** and he refused to help and hung up in my face and has not called me back about this fraudulent situation. I contacted Liberty Tax Headquarters multiple times and THEY also tried to reach out to ********************** multiple times and he refuses(cont)

    We have tried to address ******** concerns last time we had an interaction we were trying to solve his issues by ********* his taxes. He originally gave us information and on his paperwork that they were his step children and they were not so there was a mis communication. We tried to help him in the office and even sent him a check fo the interest and penalties that the *** charged to try to make him happy even though we prepared the tax return based off his information.   He did recieve the money that he should not have recieved so he needs to pay it back.  We stepped up and paid the interest that the *** charged with some extra to help him out.  We even wanted to try to help him get some of it reduced but our last interation he just called the cops when this all was offered. So we had to mail him a check and a letter explaining this which he received on 4/3.  We have gone above and beyond trying to to help this customer.

    1) I have not received any letter in the mail nor any check.
    Where was this sent to? Is there a tracking number? Confirmation number? Signature by mail? Again I did not receive anything from your company in the mail, email, fax, or a phone call. Also I called the *** today (4/8/24) and spoke with **************** (*** ID# *********** and she stated the amount has now raised to $4,416.83. Please provide proof of any check or letter to MY address?? 
    Also, please do not state I received anything without conformation or acknowledgement from me, Thanks. 

    2 Can you provide ANY legal documents about this stepdad miscommunication situation? In the official client copy of my 2021 tax return (attached to this document (again)) it states: 1)NEVER MARRIED 2) I AM THE BOYFRIEND OF THE GIRLFRIEND KIDS 3) I CAN PROVIDE A MARRIAGE CERTIFICATE  all this information was put in by your employee FALSELY. You can clearly see the inconsistencies on my taxes that she changed. How can I provide a marriage certificate without ever being married??Kattya went back into the system and changed my information WITHOUT my knowledge or consent. You can clearly see that none of it makes sense. And to pay $850 on top of this is outrageous. Youre also sealing from me because I was never entitled to that amount, you took your cut and kicked me out. The way you handle business is extremely unprofessional.

    3) I was kicked out of your business by ******* when I was explaining what was put in wrong civilly but she kept accusing me EVEN THOUGH a week prior ************;,my girlfriend, and I were on speaker phone with the *** and the *** even stated my 2021 tax return was submitted INCORRECTLY and ************************* it directly from their mouth. ******* also stated that ****** was probably trying to get us the maximum refund FRAUD ON A GOVERNMENT FOURM. Now I have red flags all over my account with the *** now and interest that is still adding up daily.

    4) Why would I call the cops and file a police report IF YOU WERE TRYING to help me? If one of your employees was willing to help and understand on behalf of your mistake, none of this would be happening, so Im not clearly understanding that concept. Nobody ever tied to help me I was told by ******* I feel uncomfortable doing it, so Im not going to do it and kicked me out when I was completely respectful and thorough. Thats why the police report was filed and addressed to the local news.

     

    Also, please attach any legal documentation supporting your claim.

    We did send a letter with trying to resolve this matter as we said.  

    The letter was mailed on the 1st but it does not look like it reached you.

    I am rejecting this response because:

    1) Nobody at your company even knows the exact amount of interest that added up so, how can a check be sent without speaking with me on behalf of the amount? I havent heard from anybody since I been kicked out.

    2) You stated I received a check on 4/3/2024 which I did not.  STOP stating that money has been mailed out without proof or a tracking number.. is this even going to the correct address??

    3) I have yet to receive a call from owner *************************** about this. I went to his colonial drive location on Monday (4/15/24) and I was told he was in the back with a client, but *** been trying to reach out for months and Im not getting any help from any of you.

    With that being said, for 2021, my initial amount that I owe back to the *** was $1,915.00.
    Since my apartment # was incorrectly put in
    by ****** (your employee), interest over 3 years piled up totaling a whopping $2,499.96 of interest on top of the $1,915.00 plus the $850 I paid to you to do my taxes which was done ALL WRONG. I have red flags all over my *** account now, I was never entitled to that amount of money but you still took a cut out of it and refuse to reimburse me.

     

    Interest: $2,449.96 (@8%) 4/2021-4/2024

    Tax fee I paid you withdrawn from my taxes in 2021: $850

    So to be exact you owe me $3,349.96.  
    I will attach my initial amount that I owed to the *** so you can clearly see.

    Im sure you have it in your system as well. 

    Lastly, Bill, I really dont want to have to take you to small claims court, but will be filing with Orange County Clerk of Courts if I dont hear a response back or a resolution.

    I have plenty of time on my hands, as I run my own small business from home. I would never treat any of my customers the way youve treated me. 

     P.S ATTATCHED is my initial amount I owed to the *** AND proof my apartment # was not inserted by ******. All is highlighted for ease. The *** could never find me directly causing this whole dilemma.

    Hello, I received the check from the post office today (4/25/2024).

    The amount you sent me ($828.22) is INCORRECT 

    My initial amount was $1,915.00. (Which I took care of)

    I paid the *** $4,414.96 on 4/16/2024 for the 2021 tax year.

    That is $2,499.96 in I&P (interest and penalties).

    $2,499.96-$828.22=$1,671.74

    Please double check the amount you sent out.

    Receipts, and documents enclosed.

    We regret to inform you that we cannot provide any further assistance with this matter. We have done everything in our power to resolve the issue, and we believe we have acted fairly and responsibly.


    The interest and penalties that you incurred were not as you claimed. We based our calculations on the data sheet that you provided to us. We tried to accommodate your concerns and issued you a check for the interest and penalties. We also offered to help you negotiate with the authorities to waive some of the charges, but you refused our offer and called the police on us.


    As we stated before, we consider this matter closed once you cash the check that we gave you. You have already received the check and we have no further obligation to you.
