Important information

  • Additional Info:
In October 2019, BBB started receiving generally concerning employment opportunities with this company. BBB believes this company may likely be a re-shipping scam.

BBB found that the company's website was created on February 6, 2019.

BBB called the company but the number is busy.

    BBB Industry Tips:
    How the Scam Works:
You receive an email offering you a job at a shipping service. The company is hiring "agents" to package items and mail them overseas. The position reimburses "agents" for their expenses and pay a monthly stipend. It sounds like easy money, so you accept the job.

Soon, your first assignment arrives. You are asked to ship something - often electronics - to an address domestically or overseas. You send off the items, but your payment never arrives. You've been conned, and you may have just helped scammers move illegally obtained goods.

Watch out for variations on this scam, such as requests that could open you up to ID theft. Some victims reported sending a copy of their driver's license with their "job application," which gave scammers their name, address and photo.

How to Spot a Reshipping Job Scam:
    - Be very cautious of any job that asks you to share personal information or hand over money. Scammers will often use the guise of running a credit check, setting up direct deposit or paying for training.
    - If a job looks suspicious, search for it in Google. If the result comes up in many other cities with the exact same job post, it is likely a scam.
    - Check out the business' website. Scammers often falsely use the names of real businesses. Check on the business's site or give them a call to confirm the position exists

    Additional Complaint Information
An employee filed a pending complaint with BBB, alleging that they were offered a job position but were not paid for the month after duties were fulfilled. Specifically, the duties included mailing out packages in the employee's own name and address. In December 2019 BBB contacted the business to request their position, to date no reply has been received. Below is the employee's complaint details:

"I employment agreement as dropshipper back in early September. Agreed to $3880. per month plus $40 per package 30 days pay date no access no pay
I signed an employment agreement in early August as drop shipper for $3880.00 per month, plus $40 per package managed. First work date was the date of my first package, August 18, 2019. Pay date was projected on September 18, 2019.

Job included, accepting shipment, receiving shipment, reviewing packaging quality, record package, remove all labels, request forwarding shipping label, packing product, and take to UPS, USPS or fedex.

During the 30 trial period I managed 13 packages. for month one that would be $3880 plus (13x$40) $520 for a total of $4440.

On Day 30 I could no longer access the software, my login and password no longer worked.

It is now over 3 weeks since the pay date and i have not received any pay.

To add, i filled out the I9 information just like anyother job, so they have my SS, my id, my birthday, and personal information.

I have attempted to contact my handler every day since September 17, called the STR LLC office and left message.. sent emails to STR.LLC but were failed, and sent requests through the STR.llc web site."
