I hired Affordable Flat Rate Movers ********** ******* out of ********** Originally it was $90 an hour for three guys and then he tells me an hour before he gets there. And of course it would have been too late to get anyone else that it's a 4-Hour minimum plus an hour driving time. The job took 2 hours by the way. That's not why I'm filing the complaint. I'm just adding to it. He moved my one bedroom apartment into storage. I didn't watch over them. I went back the next day to get one of the TVs after I asked them to be careful and after I brought it back to my location and plugged it in, that must have been a crack under the screen. The TV was within a year old. I told him about it. He did say he had insurance and his ad but never offered it. He actually went out to tell me oh I have a few flat screen TVs. Mine was a 55a. She goes. I actually have a few 65 in. I'll give you one of them. Took actual photos and a video and asked me which one I wanted. I found it odd but I didn't care as long as he was going to replace the TV. I didn't care what brand to be honest. It tells me he was going to bring it to me at a time of date and a place he never showed up. Rescheduled for the next day was an hour late. He did bring a TV but the TV was broken. He then again told me he'd be back in the morning and I told him the time he gave me was a little bit too early since I work late but I'll make it a point to be up and wait for him. Of course he never showed up. I had written bad reviews on him the minute this happened but then removed them temporarily because he said he was going to make good on it. I should have googled and looked up other reviews about him cuz I found some websites that people wrote the same exact thing that he was terrible like doesn't have insurance. He lies about it. So he's basically operating saying he has insurance case. Something happens but he has none. very upset. If this could help one person good

I hired Affordable Movers and paid for 3 laborers for 3 hours to help move items around. I was told they would arrive with equipment to help move the items around in my client's property and would be coming from a moving job in ***** together. That is not what happened. Instead, the first gentlemen arrived by car with extremely red eyes and smelled of marijuana. I should have turned him away at the door but I needed the items moved. He told me he was having a hard time finding someone else to work. It took 45 mins for the second man to show up. Then, 30 mins later the next man arrived. They did not stay for more than 1.5 hours total. Dragged my clients items instead of lifting them. Scratched up her floors and damaged 3 pieces of furniture. I contacted the owner who told me everyone smokes marijuana and basically called me a liar and would not do anything to address my concerns. I have no idea how this man is operating a business in Florida. I filed a claim to get my client's floors and furniture repaired. Called the owner today to check on the claim and he refused to tell me the name of the company he uses for the claims. I see other reports online and believe he has no insurance and the claim is completely false. He also refused to tell me his name and told me not to call him. He is a complete disgrace.

We had an update on Friday 9-2-22.

********************** saw the photos of the scratched floor. They contacted 3 floor polishers in the area within 12 miles and were given the estimate of $89.00 to buff scratches out.

We are responsible for the scratches as the driver stated.

We will send you the $89.00 and you can set the appointment if you prefer.

We appreciate your business and happy to get closure from our 3rd party settlement company.

Please e-mail us where to send this amount to either Zelle or Venmo.

This is now a closed claim and not negotiable as this is the settlement amount.

      Thank you!

I am rejecting this response because: You have not addressed the issue that I paid for 3 men for 3 hours and that is not what I received. Also, please provide the 3 estimates of companies that will buff the floors for $89. I am in this industry and that does not seem like an accurate estimate. I have given your company ample time to address these issues.

      Sincerely,

      Hello and wishing you well.

The settlement amount was not offered by us.

We use a 3rd party claim settlement company that handles all claims, impartially.

They follow the rules and regulations required by all govt agencies for all licensed movers.

Therefore, the settlement amount is not negotiable but fair!

      Best Wishes!

I am rejecting this response because: If you use an independent claim company there is no reason you can not share the quote to buff the scratches out. I have received my own quotes that do not match up so I would like to use what ever company you have quoted at this price.

Copy and paste. The file is too large to upload so I had to create the cloud link. They did not protect my furniture with blankets or Ceram wrap or anything, they dropped my furniture, and they went through drawers through my items in the drawers. I have damage to all of my furniture that was moved: Full size bed, matching dresser, matching night stand, matching desk, King size bed, metal legs for electric bed frame, 2 matching night stands, matching dresser, leather couch, leather lazy boy, tv entertainment stand, dog food container wheels, dining room chair, and suitcase. I have pictures supporting all of the damage but is too large to upload. I can email pictures. The second part to this is the original estimate states $745 plus a 7% fee for moving supplies (which were not used during the move). After the furniture was loaded and to the new residence they showed me an amount due of $2,106.03. I told them I could not pay the full amount and I could pay $1,600. They told me they will take my property to storage until I pay in full. I paid in full under duress. This charge came from a long haul charge which states in the original estimate would not be charged, and additional hours it took to move because the workers took too many breaks and were slow moving (one of the employees was wearing sandals for work shoes). Also, the truck left at 5:16pm from downtown ********* and arrived in Palm Beach Gardens after 6:30pm. over 1 hour for the drive that I paid for. I tried speaking to the company but they will not do anything through their company. They are saying it is all on the insurance company and not their company. I tried getting the email to the insurance company and they will not give it to me. I do not know what they are sending the insurance company.

      Complaint: 17671855

I am rejecting this response because: This is more than a claim for a liability amount that is set on the **** of lading.  There are multiple issues with the company other than the damage their company has caused. The items are as follows:

      1.  On the original estimate it states on the confirmation under section we do not charge for there will not be extra charges for stairs, elevators, long carries, or pad wrapping on local hourly moves which are charged at the hourly rate listed.  Then after 7 hours into the move they want me to sign the **** of lading.  The **** of lading then states that I am being charged $150 for a long carry.  This was specifically stated in the estimate that I would not be charged.  This a bait and switch.
      2.  On the companys website it states that the company is a BBB A+ company.  Then when I came to your website after the move, I find out they are not a BBB A+ company.  This is a false statement and a false representation of the service I received.
3.The mover sent me a video that states, see our movers in action.  The video shows movers that are in uniform moving a condo where they wrapped all the furniture with blankets and saran wrap.  As you can see in the first video this is not how the movers operated. They didnt protect any of my furniture with pad wrapping like the advertisement sent to me.  This is a clear false representation of the company.  Affordable Florida Movers not using this protection to move my furniture is what caused the damage to every piece of furniture that was moved.  https://1drv.ms/v/s!AvV2r6aNpAizgjMSbLQrsmxw9WMM Link to video.
      4.  On their website it states the movers are highly trained and certified movers.  This was not a true statement.  If the movers were highly trained, then they would have protected my furniture to the standard of the advertisement video they sent me.  As you can see in the video one of the movers was wearing sandals.  This is not what a well-trained mover wears when he is working.  Also, one of the movers after moving a piece of furniture down the hallway, down the elevator, and into the loading dock where the truck was parked opened multiple drawers in a dresser and went through my belongings inside the dresser.  This was a false representation of the service I received.
      5.  On their website it states their movers take short breaks of **** minutes every 2-3 hours in the billable time.  The movers took much longer breaks than that which extended the amount of time it took to complete the move.  This was a false representation of the service I received.
      6.  Affordable Florida movers will not show me their communications with their third-party claims company and will not give me their contact information.  With the history of their lies and misrepresentation I do not trust the information is being sent directly to the third-party claims company.  Also during a phone call with ****** he stated that when I send Affordable Florida movers my claims they review the claims, then send them to the third party claims company with their interpretation of the claim.

These 6 bullet points are just the beginning of all the problems that have occurred from hiring Affordable Florida movers.  Photos attached for all claims in regards to their statements on their website.  https://affordablefloridamovers.com/

      Hello Wishing you well!

At this moment there is absolutely nothing we will do aside from following the protocol as stated on your SIGNED contract explaining the process regarding issues and claims.

You have submitted your claim to us as stated on contract, we received it as we have e-mailed you back and forth 7 times. You call and email everyday as you dont agree with our terms so at the present time our situation hasn't changed though we will update you as we are updated.

Everyday you constantly send us e-mail after e-mail and you refuse taking responsibility for the fact when you booked your move you "NEVER" once told us there was a 250 foot walk. Because of this we had sent a team of 3 movers instead of 4-5 which totally burned out our movers working in 95 degree weather and abused them constantly telling them they moved to slow treating them like slaves.

You called the office many times and spoke to 3 different managers that you cannot afford to pay your ****.

That is not our problem as we completed a service and we simply wanted to be paid for the time we worked and not be ridiculed and disrespected because of your own actions.

When our movers arrived they immediately called the office and told us about what they had to deal with and asked if we can change to another day with more movers. All of our trucks were out and we could not send another team at the last minute to your home and we are not at fault in any way as you yourself created this issue. You needed your move done that day so we were bit our lips and committed ourselves to stay there and deal with your abuse and disrespect and in the end pushing the fact that we did a disservice. WRONG!

When our managers communicated with you the very last time upon your 4th call as our records show that you wanted the "SLAVES" to work quicker, we made the decision and  instructed them to not wrap the items inside your home and to bring the items to the truck and pad everything before stacking  to save time and get out of there asap.

Then you accused our movers of opening up your child's dresser drawers as if they were criminals and looking inside which we did as many times when loading a truck we have to turn an item sideways or upside down so they check to be sure nothing will fall out or break which was exactly what happened in this case.

      So now your accusations are:

      1. We moved to slow in 95 degree weather.
      2. We broke everything
      3. We overcharged you.
      4. We were wanting to steal.
      5. It is our fault this happened as we should have looked on zillow to see your home before we sent our movers out to your home.
      6. We overcharged you for the $150 on the EXTRA long carry.
      7. Then you stated TO ME that the reason we wouldn't take your credit card was because, in your own words, "SO WE COULDNT DISPUTE THE CHARGES". Thank god we didnt take your credit card as you wanted us to refund every dime was exactly what you said.
      8. Everyday you send disruptive and repeated e-mails and accusing us of more and more....
      9. Your move was, The move from H*** and quite frankly were done with your abuse and disrespect! We gave our all and then some!
      10. In hindsight this was a move we 100% wish you booked with another mover and abused them.
      11.
You have abused everyone in our operations and sales department and you state you deserve a refund.
      12.
We absolutely did charge you an additional $150 over the hourly rate for the long carry to compensate our team for the work they performed which could have been avoided had you told the truth about your logistical situation. Your problem became our problem!!!
      13.
An average long carry is between ****** feet and not what we had to deal with at your residence.
      14.
We offered to refund the $150 for the carry just to have you disappear but you refused with the ideology that you will get additional monies refunded "Which WIll Not Happen".
      15.
We worked like slaves on your move for every dime and have dealt with your abuse and frankly, the buck stops here.
      16. The
move took much longer than you thought it would and based on the information you submitted to your sales rep it was much longer than we anticipated as you were not up front with us which totally burnt out our movers which in itself is abuse!
      17. I am usually not so blunt but in this case, it is what it is and this is exactly what took place and the blame is on you.
      18.
So in closing, we want you to realize that we will no longer respond to your daily emails and threats as i said before, The Buck Stops Here!
      19.
The ALLEGED damage you submitted as a claim is currently in process and when we are updated, we will let you know. If we are found at liable for any damage, you will receive           included at no extra charge .60 cents per pound per article liability.
      20. The contract has a stipulation that if you wanted to purchase additional insurance at the listed cost you could purchase it and had to be signed off prior to the start of the move.
      21. You chose to stay with the .60 cents per pound and signed for it as well as checked off the line item that you did not wish to purchase the additional insurance at a low cost.
      22. We appreciate your business but please with all respect, call another mover next time as our entire operations department is still taking ADVIL!

Have a nice rest of your day!

      Complaint: 17671855

I am rejecting this response because:This response shows how unprofessional your business is.  Never once was I asked about where my condo was in relation to the service elevator.  As you are a professional business that supposedly performs multiple moves every day you should be the one that asks these questions.  The normal American moves 11 ****s in their life****.  Should the average American know everything that goes into moving or should it be the professionals with 38 years of experience?  If the distance to the truck is that important of a factor then you should have asked the question at the same **** you asked if there were stairs or an elevator.

You state that all your trucks were out and could not send another team at the last minute.  This would mean that you have multiple trucks.  Again, another misleading statement.  According to your registration with FMCSA with DOT ******* your company only has one moving truck and 4 drivers.  You dont have multiple trucks.  You have one truck.

I have all the call records of the day and the fact that you are saying I called you 4 ****s while the movers were still at my house is completely false and misleading.  My first phone call to Affordable Florida movers was at 5:15pm which was 6 hours into the move, and as you can see in the first video of your movers in the loading dock that was after your movers already loaded up the truck with all of my furniture unwrapped.  The next phone call was at 5:42 which I was told the office is closed, and the third phone call was at 6:50 when I was disputing the charges that Affordable Florida movers added to the **** of laden which were stated on the estimate were not charged on local hourly moves.  This 4th phone call that you have on record was never made and what you are accusing me of saying was never.  I was not disrespectful or called your employees any names at all.

Your movers had absolutely no reason to open the drawers and go through my belongings on any of furniture without me there.  Also, your employee was sitting on my glass end table while doing this. As you stated the drawers were opened when your movers were already in the moving dock.  First of all, if your company performed the move correctly and wrapped everything with blankets and saran wrap then your movers would never be able to open any of the drawers.  Secondly this drawer was opened after the furniture was already carried down the hallway, down the elevator, and out to the loading dock.  You cant tell me this was done for my safety to make sure nothing would fall out or break.  The furniture had to be put onto an electric lift and moved into position on the truck. If your statement was actually true then your movers would have had to do that when the furniture was still in my condo and not after it has already been moved.

      1. I can send you a video that I have of the long haul if you would like.  The entire walk from the front door of my condo to the loading bay is a total of 2 minutes and 17 seconds.  1 minute and 55 seconds of that trip is in an air-conditioned building set to 72 degrees. I am not really understanding what the weather outside has to do with the long haul when that equates to 15 percent of the long haul was outside.

      2. you did break all of my furniture and it was recorded on video and also pictures of the damages has been submitted to you.  You have also never sent me proof that you have forwarded this to the 3rd party claims department that you say you sent it to.

3.6.12.13. you charged me for a long haul that states on your estimate you dont charge for local hourly moves and your workers did not operate as professional movers which made the move a much longer process.  My building gives a 4 hour window to the maintenance elevator because that is the max **** it should take to move in and out of that building.  That includes the 3 bedroom condos  that are in that building on the opposite side of the building to the maintenance elevator.  My condo was a 2 bedroom condo which should have been done in less than 4 hours.  It took your movers 6 hours.
In 2020 I used all my sons moving to move from 818 (which was a condo on the *********) to 431 which is the condo I moved out of.  This move was done with 2 movers in 3 hours and 15 minutes.  This was done with 1 less mover and a longer carry than what this move was.  All my sons performed it with 1 less mover and 2 hours and 45 minutes shorter in ****.  Also in this move everything was blanketed and saran wrapped correctly.  Based upon my previous move I expected this move to happen in less **** considering there was a third employee.
      5. I expect you as a professional moving company with 38 years of experience to know what questions need to be asked to make the move as smooth and easy as possible.  Especially if there are additional that would accrue from those questions.

      7.  I would 100% dispute this with the credit card company if I could have used a credit card because there are so many misleading and untransparent actions by your company it would have been much easier to be compensated for my distress and damages caused by your company.

Your allegations of me *******, disrespecting the movers, and constantly calling during the 6 hours that your movers are at my condo are completely false incorrect.  I have the phone records to prove this.  This did not happen and these are just statements made by your company to look like the victim.  In my previous response I pointed out all of the false statements your company has on their website and also made to me.  This response is just another instance of how untruthful your company is.

Again, I have proof to back up all my statements and your companys negligence that damaged my property.  I hired your moving company based upon your companiesstatements and information that was misleading and untrue.  I did not receive the services that were promised and I want to be compensated with a payment of $2,106.03 and also a payment for full replacement of all the furniture that your company damaged.

      Sincerely,

      *********************************

We signed a contract with this Company in January 2022. We had ***** the salesman come to the house to verify the estimate he had given us for a pack and move. $1450,00. He said it would take one day. They couldn't finish the pack in 1 day. The foreman of the job Terran had said that he has a number of customers that had the same problem with a ***** estimate. It cost us $1900 for the first day and then when they finished the pack on the second day it cost me another $1100. ***** said management would not try to give us a break due to his negligence!. Not a professional run business. Big SCAMERS. Please see if you can have them issue me a check for $500 for there lying from the start.

      Hello ******

Wishing you well and we appreciate your business.

If you look at the quote it was not a binding quote to complete your move, it was only a quote stating the minimum charge but, if the move took longer to complete or there was more packing to be performed you would be charged accordingly.

When the movers arrived it was a MUCH BIGGER move and pack than the minimum quote.

Moving companies generally will not give you a binding cost for the packing as there are way to many variables that enter into the picture. Sometimes they are able to pack more items into a carton or need additional cartons to pack safely....

***** was not lying to you. He simply came to introduce himself to you and take a look around but only gave you a minimum quote. To give a binding quote he would have had to perform a complete inventory and list every item to be moved which was not the case but you would still not receive a BINDING packing estimate. If the move took longer than expected it is only because additional services were to performed.

We never lie or play games with customers as we do not do business this way. However there can of course be mis-communication which is why our contracts are written and spelled out very transparently showing every detail and easy to read before and after the service has been completed. Our rules, regulations, charges and explanations are easy to read as they stand out and not in small writing.

We performed your move in a professional manner as well as completed the entire pack of your home and only charged you for only the work we performed.

I would just like to understand a few things so we are on the same page..

Aside from the charges you are concerned about, please respond below as to give me a clear picture of your experience.

      1. Did the movers complete your move as professionals performing your move to your satisfaction?
      2. Did the movers take their time or hang around and not work while they were on your move?
      3. Were any of our movers disrespectful or not accommodating?
      4. Do you feel the movers overcharged you for work they did not perform?
      5. All in all were you happy with our services our movers performed?

I wait for your response in order to understand your ideology..

Thank you for your concerns as we always want to give our customers the best moving experience and the only way to accomplish is to listen and make changes as we go..

      Complaint: 16852405

I am rejecting this response because

they are insinuating I owe them money and they were paid in full. They are threatening me with a law suit. I will gladly provide receipt showing paid.
they are not acting in a Professional manor.

      Sincerely,
