DO NOT USE THEM- They are all great when booking your move and so helpful then its feast or famine- They do not respond they contract services out and our movers who packed were awful and they were awful- They packed as if a small child did it- They also said we owe more money- and was saying that we estimated wrong so we have to pay the amount more- it was 3k more-I never received how many boxes were used and what I was charged for- so I know we did not use all boxes- Overall it was a NIGHTMARE AND I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND- OUR MOVERS COULD NOT EVEN SPEAK ENGLISHCoastal Moving Services, LLC

You booked services on March 3, 2025, for a move scheduled to take place on April 18, 2025. At the time of booking, you were provided with an estimate that reserved ***** cubic feet based on the inventory and details provided.
When the movers arrived on site and assessed the full scope of items to be moved, it was determined that your belongings required ***** cubic feet of space. In addition, several items required extra packing to ensure their safe transport.
To assist with the adjustment in space and services, the carrier assigned to your move applied $1,339.82 in discounts toward your final cost. Our office confirmed with the carrier on April 21, 2025, that the crew reviewed the revised pricing with you before any items were loaded onto the truck. You confirmed your understanding of the updated charges and approved them at that time.
Additionally, the movers coordinated a delivery window with you. Upon arrival at your destination, the crew waited over three hours past the scheduled delivery time due to your delayed arrival. While such delays typically incur a waiting fee, this charge was waived as a courtesy to you.
We are committed to transparency, fairness, and quality service. We understand that language barriers may sometimes arise due to the diverse nature of our industry, but every crew is expected to conduct themselves with professionalism and care. If your experience did not reflect this standard, we sincerely apologize.

I spoke with Andres with Coastal Moving and from the start he’s been, a gentleman with extensive knowledge of the business, who thoroughly listens and answers your relocation questions and needs. On Feb 26 2025 I placed an order with Coastal for a pickup . I was very satisfied with my quote and paid my deposit on March 1 2025 I had a severe stroke and was hospitalized and unable to call and cancel my move on March 4 2025 I was able to call and cancel my move which was out of the time line to get my deposit back. I was quoted $3,000 for my move from Detroit, MI to Manhattan, NY after disclosing I live on the 14th floor and need special handling. After booking, the price inflated to over $9,000 with hidden fees and aggressive upselling. Whitney promised Coastal Moving Services was reputable and would care for my property as my dedicated contact—but once payment was made, she disappeared. I was explicitly promised delivery on February 17th by the sales rep, customer service, and the driver. Instead, delivery occurred on Friday, the 21st, and my LG TV remains missing. When I called for an update, **** was dismissive and rude—blaming me for not watching the loading—and suggested I arrange TV delivery myself while they only cover part of the fee. Pickup on February 14th was chaotic: scheduled between 9:00 AM and 12:00 PM, movers arrived at 5:00 PM and finished at 3:00 AM, causing me to miss a flight. Until Cross Country Movers showed up, I thought I was dealing solely with Coastal Moving Services. My property was extensively damaged: • Sony TV arrived with black pixels on the bottom right and a scratched stand. • All furniture—2 bedside tables, 2 chest of drawers, dining table, media console, changing table, crib, desk, coffee table, and a bed (filthy, damaged, and missing components)—was damaged. • A moving box is missing, with no explanation provided. I incurred significant hotel costs due to the delayed delivery, and the stress is immeasurable. Their contract is so heavily in their favor that if they “lose” your equipment, you’re entitled to only $0.60 per pound—a pittance considering the loss. To make matters worse, this claim process is handled by MovingClaims.net, a company with its own one-star reviews, making it nearly impossible to receive fair compensation. After reviewing your file, you booked services on 02/06/2025 for a 02/14/2025 move, initially reserving 506 cubic feet. On 02/11/2025, you added 8 items, increasing the space to 630 cubic feet. You had three days to review all documents, raise concerns, or cancel for a deposit refund. A verification call on 02/08/2025 confirmed your move details, followed by an email outlining payment options, prohibited items, and a confirmation that customer service would be your direct point of contact moving forward.
You have stated that pricing details were withheld and that you were pressured into signing documents before reviewing them. However, this does not align with the documented interactions. Once services were booked, you had three days to review all documents, ask questions, and, if unsatisfied, cancel for a full refund of your deposit.
Delivery timeframes depend on multiple factors, including distance, route availability, and carrier scheduling. As outlined in your estimate, the standard delivery timeframe for a move of approximately 635 miles is 7-12 business days from the First Available Delivery Date (FADD). Your FADD was listed as February 17, 2025. However, due to building regulations in ********, delivery could not be completed on a Sunday. As a result, your items were delivered on Friday, February 21, 2025, which is within the standard timeframe.
Regarding valuation coverage, as outlined on page two of your moving estimate, the standard coverage of $0.60 per pound per article was included at no additional cost. While additional insurance was an option, you chose to proceed with the standard coverage.
For any missing or damaged items, the carrier is responsible for claims, as they physically handled your belongings. The claim instructions were emailed to you on 02/24/2025. Please refer to page seven of your estimate for details regarding our claims policy.
Our records indicate that we remained in constant communication with you throughout your move, providing updates as they became available and addressing any concerns.
We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience you experienced. Our commitment to customer satisfaction remains strong, and we will continue to review and improve our processes to provide the best possible experience for our clients.

It’s interesting that Coastal Moving Services denies any wrongdoing while offering a $1,000 refund—if your company truly believes you did nothing wrong, why offer any refund at all? What’s even more telling is that nobody from your company has actually reached out to offer this refund which you posted on March 17th. I only noticed it while reading your response on BBB, just like I’ve noticed the sudden influx of questionable “positive” reviews. Deceptive Pricing & High-Pressure Tactics: I was quoted $3,000 after fully disclosing that I live on the 14th floor and require special handling. Once I was locked in, hidden fees pushed the final cost to over $11,000. ******* assured me that all costs were covered, yet I was pressured into accepting additional fees without a proper review. False Delivery Promises & Repeated Delays: Despite being repeatedly promised a February 17th delivery by your sales rep, customer service, and even the driver, my belongings did not arrive until February 21st. My LG TV, which was left behind at pickup, was only finally delivered on March 15th—an unacceptable delay that forced me to rearrange my schedule and incur additional costs. Negligent Handling & Damaged Items: Your subcontractor’s team admitted that their mover does not wrap items properly, leading to significant damage. Nearly all my furniture (all less than a year old) arrived damaged, and my ironing board was left completely unwrapped—so damaged it’s now unusable. Additionally, a moving box is still missing with no explanation provided. Unfair Contract & **** Claims Process: Your contract is so heavily in your favor that even if you “lose” all my equipment, I’d only be entitled to $0.60 per pound—a pittance compared to my losses. You refer customers to MovingClaims.net, a company with one-star reviews known for denying nearly every claim. This is nothing short of a ****. Questionable Positive Reviews: I’ve been told so many lies by your company that I can’t believe the so-called “positive” reviews you suddenly receive. It appears that most of those reviews come from customers who canceled their moves and got their money back, not from genuine satisfaction. Even if Coastal Moving Services manages to “get away” with the bank dispute due to your heavily skewed contract, I want potential customers to know the truth. My experience proves you are nothing but a **** company that must be thoroughly investigated. There is a 72 hour window to cancel your move after you sign your contract. I was unable to cancel within that window, which made me lose my deposit $1000+ deposit. Luckily, I was able to speak with Brianna who was nice enough to help me get at least half of my deposit back.Coastal Moving Services, LLC

If I could give 0 stars I would. Not even enough characters to type a full review of what a nightmare this has been. ******** company DO NOT waste your money. This company is not accredited!! ******* was the initial employee that booked our move. What he verbally told me on the phone was false info/withholding the truth. Basically said what he needed to get our business/money. Said items would be picked up and within 7-12 days delivered w/ 30 days free storage if needed. Failing to mention that he checked I wanted storage when I did NOT and then we got charged a storage fee?1. This is just a booking company they do not do the move they subcontract out to small scam like companies (you do not find this out till the day of pick up when a random enterprise rented truck shows up) 2. They altered our documents! Next to my initials the date says 1/25 the document states must be signed 3 days prior to move. They picked up our stuff 1/31 then emailed me 2/1 asking me to sign a document. I have the screenshots from docu sign with the dates the document was sent and signed and it shows 2/1. That is unlawful and suspicious.3. They picked up our stuff 1/31 it is now 2/25 our stuff still isn't here! I was told it would arrive 4 different times now and was told to take off work for the delivery that never showed on any of the days I was told. 4. You will pay double your estimate! I gave detailed measurements AND inventory yet was charged for extra for space despite them being fully aware of what I had prior.5. **************** **** are some of the most rude people I have encountered and unwilling to transfer to any management. Was told "they don't talk to customers" Honestly, the more I look into this company: The whole situation seems as though they are a con/scamming company. Reviews are bad and similar to ******** we are getting random charges and our stuff still isn't here? They don't show any empathy for the customer and won't take any responsibility. You booked services on 01/15/2025 for a move scheduled between 01/31/2025 and 02/01/2025. Our estimate clearly states on the first page that we operate as a moving broker, and we sincerely apologize for any misunderstanding regarding this. Additionally, you received an Important Details and Payment Options email the day before pickup, informing you of the motor carrier assigned to your move and the accepted forms of payment. For reference, please review the bottom of page 4 and top of page 5 of your estimate, where our broker services are explained.
We offer 30 days of free storage to all customers if needed. This is sometimes added to the file as a precautionary measure, but there is no charge for this, and you have not incurred any storage fees.
Regarding pricing, you were not charged double for your shipment. Your estimate was based on the initial cubic footage recorded over the phone, with a locked-in rate calculated based on logistical factors. On the day of pickup, once all items were loaded, it was determined that 7 additional items required an extra 119 cubic feet of space, which resulted in additional charges, as outlined in the estimate (see the bottom of page 2, Reviewing Your Estimate).
Delivery timeframes depend on factors such as distance, route availability, and carrier scheduling. For a move of approximately 860 miles, the estimated delivery window is 7-12 business days from the First Available Delivery Date (FADD). However, per industry standards, the carrier has up to 30 business days in worst-case scenarios. In the paperwork from pick up, the Long Distance Form from you filled out and signed, details delivery timelines.
On pickup day, if a FADD was provided to the ******* and marked on the paperwork, dispatch would schedule delivery accordingly. If no FADD was given, the items would have been placed in storage at no charge for up to 30 days. In this case, you provided a FADD of 02/17/2025, and dispatch is actively working on a delivery update for your items.
Regarding documentation, the electronic forms sent to you on 02/01/2025 cannot be altered. The system records the ** address when the document is opened and signed, confirming authenticity. Even though you were sent the paperwork electronically on 02/01/2025, you did not sign it until 02/05/2025. You can review this document in your pick up paperwork, on the last page.
Our customer service team is always available to address any questions or concerns. Our records show that on 02/25/2025, you spoke with several representatives and were later transferred to a manager. The manager thoroughly explained the breakdown of charges from pickup, the delivery process, and addressed your concerns.
Lastly, we acknowledge that you have labeled our company as a scam, but this does not align with the actual interactions and services provided. We remain committed to resolving any outstanding concerns and ensuring a satisfactory experience.
