On 2-8-2024 *************************** and I met with the **** about re screening and refinishing the lanai. We left the house 2/8/2024 and returned 2/25/2024. Work began on 2/9/2024. No one was present while workers were there working. When I returned and removed leaves that fell when the screens were removed I found black marks and white paint on the lanai tiles. I notified **** about the marks which he ignored and didn't attempt to remove. I had the lanai pressure cleaned 2/6/2024 and showed him the receipt. I also showed him a photo of the lanai tiles after the pressure cleaning with clean tile. I emailed him a letter with photos and the receipt for the pressure cleaning and asked for a date when he would send someone the next time I was going to to be at the house. His response was to call him when I returned. I re emailed the letter and he responded that he sent me a text. I stopped the last payment I made to **************** since I didn't have confidence he would correct the problem and how would he proceed if the marks couldn't be removed. i can email the letter with the photos of the tile and also issues with the screening and the holes along the metal frame that weren't there before he started this work. I told him I would have the charges go thru AMEX after the tiles were cleaned but he said he would have his attorney contact me. Please send me an email that I can forward my letter and photos of the lanai to you. Thank you for any assistance your agency can provide. The patio refurbish job we did for her came out great as they always do. When she got back in town she looked it over and was happy with it and paid the balance of $918.00 A couple days later she called and said we made holes in the aluminum framing which is rediculous along with with there were a couple screws missing which my guy went back and took care of. Again she was fine. A couple days later another call saying a small area of the new screen wasn't trimmed perfectly. Again my guy went back and took care of the tiny piece that was so small it was almost impossible to see at the top of the 10 ft high wall. Again she was fine. Next sent a letter saying we had made a ******************* on her outside patio floor. She obviously had some sort of problem that she spends her time trying to find something wrong with the job we did and after sending people back 3 times for virtually nothing we've had it with trying to satisfy her. Along with the fact when she emailed a rediculous letter i texted her and she resonded back in a text saying she couldn't receive texts. She then disputed $2,418 on her credit card payment. Recinded $1,500 chargeback and sent another letter about holes in aluminum and a **** on her floor and if we refunded $918 she would let me recharge 1/2 until we cleaned her floor. All this as her c/c company took the $918 out of our acct a couple weeks ago. At this point i told her we'll just file a lien and *** her as she obviously has personal is***s..Initial Complaint

I hired affordable screening plus 07/21/22 to detach and reattach a pool enclosure screen/gutters with no prior issues for a re-roof along with rescreening the entire enclosure when the re-roof was completed. The gutters were fully functional with no leaks prior. I was never made aware in writing or verbally that my gutter when reattached would leak. The job was supposedly completed on 12/31/22 but the gutters now leak constantly and the owner **** stated to me verbally that this is inevitable and nothing can be done about the leaks and to find someone else to fix the issue.Business Response

Customer was informed there are no guarantees against possible drips at any seams on re-attaching old gutters. We did return and re-seal seams however that did not cure the problem which is typical on old ************. We did after talking to customer offer to re-imburse him if he found another company to successfully seal it which he agreed to then recanted we assume because most companies are aware that it can't be done with any certainty of success.Customer Answer

I am rejecting this response because:I was never made aware the gutter would leak in writing or verbally. The company assured me several times via text on 1/17 (see attached) that the leaks would be fixed.The sub contractor the owner hired to fix the leaks arrived and couldnt fix the leaks. i was then told verbally by the owner to find another company to fix since all gutters leak. I shouldnt have to find another company to fix mistakes made by the company i hired. i should have been made aware my gutters would leak. See attached text messages with the owner

Actually he was informed there was a chance the seam would leak as the gutters are powder coated from the factory and when its gets old, in his case about 20 yrs, the caulking will not always stick to it. I told him this is a very common problem as almost any company will confirm. We sent another very experienced private sub to try to seal it again and the result a week later was...no surprise, the same. Owner's roofing company incidently took 11 months from when we did the separation to finish his job not the 2 weeks we were told, thus the old gutter was on the ground for almost a year. ***** said he wanted to get another company to fix the leak which we stated we would gladly pay for if he could find anyone who would guarantee it. The gutter still leaks and again was never told made aware verbally or in writing this could happen. A customer shouldnt have to seek out another company to fix a job from the hired company.

On October 13, 2022 Affordable Screening Plus provided us with a quote for the refurbishment of our pool enclosure. That quote included new screws and tapcons, pressure cleaning, painting and rescreening at a total cost of $6,340.00. The terms clearly stated that 50% deposit and balance upon COMPLETION.On November 8th we provided them with the 50% deposit per the terms of the quote.Sometime during the week of November 28, 2022 the job was started.Despite the job not being completed, on December 13, 2022, the owner insisted that we pay the balance due stating that "it was not fair to hold up $4,000 for the little bit of work that was left." At that time, he stated that the job would be completed the next day. I gave him the credit card information.As of this date, despite numerous phone calls, text messages and voicemails, the job has not been completed. Each time the owner has claimed someone would call or show up to finish the job, no one has.Business Response

I contacted **** at Affordable Screening Plus to replace the screening on my patio. I was given a contract on June 13, 2021 for $770 and paid a 50% deposit. The job was completed on June 15 and I paid the balance upon completion. At first I was impressed by the service that I received in June 2021. Fast service and installation for an affordable price. However,in September the screen began coming out of the track. I called **** on September 4 and was told that his guys would be out to fix it next week. Next week came and went, no one showed up. I continuously called and texted and got nothing but excuses and empty promises. I called again until December 4--NOTHING. It is now May, 2022 the screen is completely out of the track in multiple locations. To make matters worse, **** no longer answers my messages or returns my calls and I now have to pay someone to redo the entire patio. I like supporting local businesses and I have had a pretty good track record, but unfortunately, Affordable Screening Plus does not live up to the ratings and positive reviews that they advertise.Business Response
