    Pattern of Complaint:

    BBB files contain a pattern of complaints from consumers that allege, they signed up for a free trial online and only provided their credit card information to pay for shipping and handling in the amount of $7.95 however; consumers state that in many cases their card was charged in amounts of $89.98 to $189.80.

    On July 7th 2022, BBB sent correspondence to Relaxium requesting their voluntary cooperation in providing steps it will implement to eliminate the pattern of customer complaints.

    On September 27th 2022, Relaxium provided the following response

    "Dear Valued Customers,

    Our top priority is you, our customers -- that without--  Relaxium would not exist.  Even conceptually, the very idea of Relaxium was based on formulating healthier sleep/mood solutions for you.  Years of dedicated research were invested, along with costly clinical studies, to be able to ensure customers superior sleep and mood products without the unwanted side effects.  We also wanted you to be able to experience our products without any monetary risks.  Not only do we offer a 30-day money back guarantee from the date of delivery (which is usual) but Relaxium accepts company risk by having implemented what is called a Risk Free-trial.  This lets you try our sleep product for several days before it costs anything, giving you a chance to experience the product before making a choice ---- either to keep and pay, or easily exercise the money back guarantee option and keep the one opened bottle free of charge. I've included below the verbiage that every customer hears on the automated call line and/or sees on the website when ordering:

    Here is how your trial works.  We're sending 2- 30-day supply bottles to try for a full 14 days.  Enjoy 14 wonderful nights of sleep on us,  If you decide for any reason that you are not satisfied, just call us within the first two weeks to send it back and you will never be billed anything at all.     Even in our sincere efforts to accommodate our customers, misunderstanding does occur.  We have about 5-7% of our customers who say did not understand the offer for various reasons.  Some of you stated that you did not understand the charge that occurred on the 17th day or stated you were unaware that a subscription was set up.  We believe that the offer above is stated clearly and can be easily understood (we are compliant and our offer meets with all FTC regulations) and that most customers, after speaking with them, agree that they simply did not take the time to listen to the offer nor did they read the Terms and Conditions.

    We take our customers' feedback seriously and want to make your experience extraordinary and will continue to improve where we can.  In the last two weeks, we have set-up online our self-help desk, giving you the option to manage your own account at help.relaxium.com.

    Recently, we have experienced exponential growth and during this time we did falter with being able to answer your calls in a timely manner.  This caused frustration for many of you and we are deeply sorry for this.  We do have a call system that gives customers options of where to be directed, for example; to track an existing order, leave a voice mail, etc., and one option is requesting a callback. This system does call-back every customer that requested a callback and places them in priority position in the call queue over new incoming calls. We have had numerous customers say that they never received a callback -- even though this system dials the number automatically and connects to our agents.  When listening to these redials, very often the line says the Voice Mail has not been set-up or is full.  In many instances when speaking with a customer who had multiple callbacks, when they found our number, they say it came up as 'potential spam' and that they chose not to answer -- understandably! Whatever the case may be, we have been dependent on our system to make the 'failproof' callback but recognize it isn't always failproof!

    As hard as we try with all the 'imperfect' systems in place, it is of utmost importance to us that our customers know that we operate with the "golden YOU rule" in mind and are here striving to improve to create the ultimate customer service experience for you.

      False advertising. TV promo stating you could order a free trial bottle of a sleep aid. I ordered and received two bottles. The invoice#******* was received on Sept 10th for $8.42 (shipping) and I tried it, but it didn't work for me. On Sept 27th I received an invoice #******* for $126.95 for two more bottles and both these amounts were taken from my checking account. I never received the second order. When I called I was told I would have to return the items to get a refund but they would have to be unopened bottles. Weird!! How can you try if you don't open?? Otherwise, no refund!! Free trial??

      I called them back one more time and they issued me a $35.97 (30%) refund and asked if I needed anything else and I asked for the balance to be refunded and was refused.   So, I have been charged a total of $90.98 plus the shipping which I had agreed initially to pay.

      I had seen commercials on television for relaxium sleep for a long time. I decided to give it a try a couple of months ago. They were saying that if you called right away, you could get a free bottle as a trial. So I did that, and I got my bottle and I thought I was just being charged for shipping and handling. Then a little while later I got two bottles in the mail that I had not ordered and there was a charge on my account. I was confused by this, and not sure what to do. I couldnt find a way to contact the company to cancel any future orders. Then I just noticed today there is another charge on my account for $141.15 that I did not authorize. I decided to look on your website, and I see that many other people that have the same complaint with relaxium asleep. It looks to me like its a scam. I simply would like to get refunded for the $141 and cancel any future orders and make sure they dont send me or charge me for anymore.

      Your subscription order was voided and was never charged.  You called in time to void the auto shipment before it was deducted from your account.

      You must have forgotten that you previously (on 5/22/2020) ordered from us and did not cover the cost for the product and ordered again last month. Relaxium is excited to offer a way for customers to try before they buy.  We have clear and transparent terms and conditions so customers can read before accepting/placing an order. We do regret any miscommunication.

      I placed an order for one bottle of Relaxium Sleep. I declined the opportunity to subscribe to a regular shipment. This was a phone order. I was told that this was a one time purchase. Now Im being charged for more product with a subscription. If I were to return this product I didnt order, they will charge me shipping to return it. And after having contacted the company they said I am not subscribed yet my bank account had been charged for the purchase. On their website there is no way to cancel a subscription or delete payment information.

      I ordered the supposedly free sample and paid the shipping charge. When I received the sample there was 2 bottles instead of one. I started taking the pills and took them for a week and they did not help me sleep. Instead it seemed to keep me awake. In the meantime, my credit card company emailed to let me know that I had been charged for a subscription to Relaxium Sleep. Apparently I did not read the fine print as I did not want a subscription where they automatically shipped on a regular basis and charged my cc. I called and told them to cancel my subscription. They advised If I returned the extra bottle they would cancel after a lot of high pressure to keep me from cancelling. So the sample is not free even though you pay shipping. I now have to pay shipping to return the extra bottle. I can't believe ************************* goes on TV and says try this risk free. This is a terrible product and ******************** is misleading with his endorsement. It is all about the money! Shame on both.

      On June 30th, 2024... after seeing the RELAXIUM commercial on TV many, many times... which is where they say EVERY time, that they are GIVING AWAY ***** BOTTLES... I decided to try it. So, I went onto their website and went through the ordering process. They charged me $8.51 for shipping, what I assumed would be the FREE BOTTLE they said that they were giving away on their TV commercial. I then received, about a week later, a package with TWO bottles in it. I was confused by this. I started trying the product that night. And every night. I didn't notice much of a difference... not like the commercial indicated. But I kept trying, thinking maybe my system needed to be on the initial FREE bottle (60 capsules) period to work. That would make sense, if their marketing and advertising was truthful.July 17th, 2024... Only 18 days later... with no follow-up text or phone call or email asking if it was working... Instead, I just kept receiving sales offers... And they charged my credit card $128.29 cents... BUT, I received nothing in the mail after that. I then concluded that they were charging me for the two bottles I had just received about 10 days earlier... At $64.15 each. NO FREE ONE???Then, I went on AMAZON and saw that they were selling the exact same product and quantity on there for less than half the price.I paid them a total of $8.51 + $128.29, which comes to $136.80. I would like a partial refund of $136.80 minus $8.51 (shipping) and minus $29.99 (price of 1 bottle on Amazon), which comes to a refund of $98.30. So, I am willing to pay for shipping of the two bottles and the price of 1 bottle at the price ($29.99) they are charging on Amazon... and like their commercial advertised, I should receive the other bottle for FREE. Also... They should be ordered to pull the DECEPTIVE commercials and stop price gouging vi autopay tricks that you cannot opt out of when ordering on their website. On second thought... I was FULL REFUND for my time doing THIS!!

      I signed up for the free trial on 7/16/24 (#*******). In the fine print, you have 14 days to cancel your upcoming charge. I followed every prompt online to cancel today 7/28/24 (13 days and within the timeframe). And, in lieu of cancelling - their website charged my card immediately. I called customer service *************) and spoke with two agents that were unwilling to help or listen; they just repeated from a script saying send the bottle back for a partial refund. Absolutely not! This is a scam. This charge was not authorized. I do not want this product. I want my payment information removed. I want my shipping information removed. I want a refund back. And this issue needs to be noted against this company.

      All communication from this scam of a business shall be in writing, not phone call.

      Zero purchase was made - only several attempts to remove my credit card. 

      This transaction has been placed in dispute with my financial institute. Zero authority was ever given.

      Additionally - the product for which I did not authorize has never been delivered. For if a delivery attempt had been made, it would have been rejected.

      Furthermore, as you did not send any product, and I have not given authorization, why is a refund not given?
