South Florida PBS continues to withdraw money monthly out of my credit card account although I have written, called, or instructed them on line to stop withdrawing. I no longer want to contribute to the programming it offers. This has been going on for a year now. When I first decided I no longer wanted to contribute, per instructions in its program guide, I wrote a letter instructing them to stop withdrawing money. No response. Since that first request I have gone on-line to instruct the company to end my donations. No response. I've telephoned and twice talked to membership representatives who said they would submit my instructions to the proper department. The last time I talked to a representative, she told me my instructions have not been followed for so long that she would send hers to another department and I would get an e-mail, from higher *** I guess. Not only did I not get an e-mail on my issue, I did get an e-mail asking me to have my employer match my donation and South Florida PBS would match it. (I'm retired.) I continue to receive monthly programs and money continues to be withdrawn from my credit card account. My ****** is now the obvious one, not only will they not honor my instructions but more action on my part will be ignored. As a last step, I talked to a representative of my credit card company and was told that the solution was a new credit card. Others who have had to same experience with other companies said in their experience this step wouldn't work and is a waste of time. What I'm asking of you is would you instruct South Florida PBS to stop withdrawing money from my credit card without my permission. It isn't much money by some standards, $10 a month, but it is money I no longer care to donate and I have made more than sufficient effort to instruct them to stop. I'm not a lawyer but to me this is fraud. I'm asking for your help.
