My name is **** *****, and I am a BlueDental Choice QF plan member. AspenDental R Dustin D. Holdings PLLC (located at **** *** ******* Mi ******* ** in **** ****** ******** is an in-network provider for BlueDental Choice QF. According to the Dental Explanation of Benefits document from Dental Customer Service, AspenDental was only allowed to charge me $930 for the Porcelain Ceramic Crown #09 D2740 treatment and $81.00 for the Complete Intraoral Series D0210 treatment. These two services total out to $1,011. On March 23, 2021, Aspen Dental required me to pay $873.00. On the day of service, April 7, 2021, I was supposed to pay the remaining balance of $138, but after I received the crown they wanted me to pay $747.45. I disputed the second payment because it did not match with the insurance estimate, but they threatened to remove the crown if I did not comply. The total I paid to AspenDental was $1,609.45. As a result, I was overcharged by $600.45.

Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2021/08/12) */ Dear Sir or Madam, Thank you for the opportunity to respond to the complaint filed by **** ***** on behalf of the Fort Myers, FL (Cypress) Aspen Dental branded practice, owned and operated by R Dustin D. DMD Holdings, PLLC. We will be responding to the consumer directly on this communication. The Aspen Dental network is committed to breaking down barriers to care. Each independently owned and operated location and care team has the autonomy to work with patients, so they receive quality care. Every patient complaint is taken seriously and the office will work to resolve any concerns that are raised, living into our commitment to say "Yes" to quality oral care. I appreciate you giving us the opportunity to review this inquiry directly with the consumer adhering to federal privacy laws. Consumer Response /* (3000, 7, 2021/08/17) */ (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.) This fancy language does not fool anyone. It is the very tactic that the(Cypress) Aspen Dental owned and operated by * Dustin D. DMD Holdings, PLLC. and The Aspen Dental network have been using to prolong the refund process, hoping to frustrate their patients and eventually the patients would give up their right to a refund. I called the office and they told me that the manager is out sick, and then she was on vacation. After several weeks of calling without any success, my insurance called them and they conceded their mistake of overcharging me and said that they would open a ticket for a refund, but again no ticket. Just silence. After two months of trying to resolve the situation, my insurance gave up and told me to file a complaint with the appeal department. On June, 2012 a class action lawsuit was filed against Aspen Dental for using similar illegal and unethical financial tactics against their patients. I plead BBB and other victims out there to please speak up and end Aspen Dental unethical behaviors. Obviously they haven't learned anything from the previous lawsuit and have continued to be hungry vultures instead of decent human beings. Business Response /* (4000, 9, 2021/08/18) */ This case is still being worked. Please allow more time for a response. Thank you. Consumer Response /* (4200, 11, 2021/08/25) */ (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.) Dear Sir/Madam: I just received the two up-to-date Dental Explanation of Benefits documents from the Dental Claim Administrator (see attachments) informing me that AspenDental was paid $46.80 and $440 for my two services: complete Intraoral Series and Porcelain Ceramic Crown. The total amount my insurance paid AspenDental was $504.80. As such, that brings up the total amount I was overcharged by $1114.25. Please see the table below for details. Thank you in advance for helping me resolve this issue. Please do not hesitate to contact me by email at ***********@yahoo.com if you have any questions or need more information. Sincerely, **** ***** Business Response /* (4000, 14, 2021/08/26) */ A response will be sent directly to Ms. *****.

On two occasions in January 19th and 26th my mother was seen by Aspen Dental ormond beach. We were told the doctor she was seeing was in network. After receiving bills from that visit the doctor was not in network. After several visits to the office they still claimed the doctor was in network. Well after many months of contacting humana and Aspen Dental it was determined aspen dental was in fact incorrect that their dr was not in network. Now I have paid for services that should of been covered. And they will not correct their mistake and reimburse the overpayment.

The website says a filling is 91.00$ and new patients get an extra 20% off and free exam and X-rays I paid 106.00$ for the exam and X-ray. Why did I get charged for the exam and X-ray? They charged me for the procedure and didn't perform the procedure.

I am filing this for my 90 year old father **** ********** (birthdate ********** I took him in for a toothache and was told they would pull the tooth but couldn't do it until they rec'd his medical doctor's approval. We did get the approval then I took him in and they said he would have to see the oral surgeon. I took him in AGAIN and the oral surgeon said there was absolutely no need to pull this tooth as it was healthy and pain was due to grinding when not wearing his plate at night!! So, after several trips for NOTHING they now want $14.20 which I told them I didn't feel he owed, I paid the full bill for services on the first day and nothing more was due since they didn't do anything . Not only is he *** his wife of ** years had a stroke 2 months prior to this visit and 1 month before the visit his only son took his life!!! I made the dentist aware of this also!

I have paid aspen dental a lot of money for full upper and particular bottom dentures. Aspen has redone them numerous times which each time there's been an issue. I suffer pain, not being able to chew or look decent now for 7 months. As you go to the office for help, they make the issue worse and you leave the office worse off then you walked in

Hello I went aspen dental on February 25th 2020 of last year and was lied to about the dentures and pricing package that was told to me and my girl friend. I am still getting billed for something that was billed to my dental 1st loan account back on February 25th 2020 and now its in collections because of them double billing customers. I've been very unhappy with their service since day 1 and still haven't been to resolve the issues with my dentures or their lies told by aspen dental staff.
