I can celled my membership on May 4th of this year. I received a call yesterday telling me my membership was never canceled and I owe ****** or my account will go to a collection agency. I had an issue with this back in June and was told by the Regional Manager ***** that he would take care of it. I have never heard anything else from him or the gym until now so I assumed it was taken care of in June.Initial Complaint

I moved out of state and called to cancel my membership in April, it is now July and I have been charged 25 a month since plus a 50 dollar fee today. They say they have no record of this call.Initial Complaint

3 days before the end of the month I paid for I had to cancel my membership due to a change in circumstances. I was told by ***** that I was obligated to pay for another month. So I'll understand an extra month being billed. But now it's been 3 months accruing another monthly fee each time that I'm still being billed. So if a person doesn't use their gym despite the "month to month no contract", one still has to pay each month? It makes no sense. It is deceptive and dishonestInitial Complaint

First I signed up at a gym asked for a discount was told Id get it then I got injured tried to freeze it called ten times told I had to come in finally was able to go in and was told I now owed 150 dollars this was in less than sixty days of only two visits to this gym !!!!!! My son, *************************, had a training agreement with Crunch and because of his job, a new baby, and some illness was forced to seek an end to his training. Below are the messages back and forth with his trainer with **** explaining his circumstances and the reply from his trainer. These messages were sent on March 31, 2023 at 10:34AM. I apologize for not including the dates below because I transferred the messages from an **** and the dates did not come through. I do have the **** messages to verify the date and time.Hey Im going to have to cancel out because Im being charged and Im unable to make it to my training sessions my baby needs me and unfortunately I just dont have time and have to figure out some workouts at home. Can I please get out of the membership training sessions and be refunded 168 for the last payment it took out today.We can freeze or cancel and wont be charge for the next billing date. They wont be able to do anything about the charge today since freezes or cancellation has to be processed 10days prior to a billing cycle. But we will find time to use all the sessions you have at times that beat suit you. ***** always have them until you use them and Im always here to make arrangements to get you in brother The return message from the trainer did not explain the method for cancelling the training sessions. Because of the lack of an explanation, **** thought the cancellation had been accomplished simply by sending the message. Consequently, monies were taken from ****'s checking account on these dates:April 3, 2023 April 17, 2023 May 1,2023 May 15, 2023 Each payment $168.00 It is also that when **** realized that monies were taken out he spoke with you, I believe and you were helpful and having **** sign the correct form to cancel the training sessions. Because of the communication issues regarding the cancellation of the training, I am requesting, on behalf of ****, a refund of the four payments listed above.Initial Complaint

This branch of Crunch created a membership account with my information when 1) I did not request it 2) I have never been to this gym. I have contacted the gym multiple times and spoke with the regional and local manager and the account has not been cancelled. Specifically, I received an email containing a contract of my membership. The contract included a signature and banking information. All of the information in the contract (signature, banking info, credit card info) were not mine nor prompted by me. The only information that was mine was my name, physical address, and email address. When I called the branch to inform them of this a week ago, the regional manager appeared agitated with my concern, and said she would cancel the account. It has been one week and 1) the account has not been cancelled and 2) the regional manager is not getting back to me. In addition, when I call the branch, the manager is stating he cannot do anything despite paperwork showing the manager was the individual who signed me up for this membership. Despite me stating this to both management officials, no action has been taken.Initial Complaint

I have had a crunch membership for several years. 2 years ago, I stopped using my membership, but the account was still active and the monthly payments were being made. A few months ago, I called Crunch Fitness to cancel my membership, I was told the cancelation was not going to be completed over the phone, I had to come in in order for them to cancel it. I am not able to come in, so I canceled my card so they would stop charging me. I received several harassing phone calls attempting to collect, and I informed them that the membership needed to be canceled multiple times, but it was ignored, the phone calls continued, even though I had asked them not to call anymore. It was not until I threatened to *** if the phone calls continued that the calls stopped. I am still receiving text messages attempting to collect, and I have place more phone callad to Crunch Fitness asking them to cancel the membership, and they are still refusing to cancel it. Every month, the balance has kept increasing. I am asking for BBBs assistance to have this membership canceled and stop Crunch Fitness from attempting to collect on a membership that they are well aware is not being used.
