Very Unprofessional!!!! Do not waste your time with this company. The owner Robert S******** and his son Michael obviously do not communicate with each other or any of their staff and this creates being told 2 different stories. Not sure why they hired their sales representative, Claire. (Maybe we were practice clients for her). I feel really bad for her. She spent 2 weeks going back and forth with us until we came to an agreement with price and with the pool features and design. When it came time for us to sign the contract (last step for our financing company), Mike informed us that they could not commit to what was in the contract. HUH?
Everyone at this company including the office manager knew our situation. Mike even spoke to our builder and he confirmed timeline, etc with him. Apparently, they must be getting ready to go under because they wait until the last minute to purchase materials for the job then blame the supply companies for delays. They pitched a good game until time to get down to business. Obviously, they need a lesson in how to be a reputable one at that. Basically, do not ask them to install a pool until your home is completely built. They will not do it in conjunction with your builder even though they say they will. They went even as far as to blame our builder for possibly going to throw junk in the pool as it is being built. LOL. Because of this delay, we now will face higher interest rates and wasted time dealing with this company. Do Not make the same mistake we did!!!!!!!

We at FLA Pools completely understand the disappointment the customers experienced when the determination was made that FLA would not be able to provide a swimming pool that their requirements. There are many things that factor into that decision and rarely is there an issue. Our goal is to be as transparent, honest and upfront prior to signing. Unfortunately, given the financing variables and the home project not being started we were not able to build the pool without a price increase down the road. Many contractors will mention this while the project is already started, leaving the customer with no other option. It is our current policy, which is subject to change with our ever changing economy, that we will only build pools when a home is complete to reduce the risk of significant price changes during the project and to avoid delays that are inevitable during the homebuilding process. We spoke with the home builder over the phone and even though he was very professional, being that we have never worked with him before, we could not guarantee his ability to meet deadlines (especially in today's volatile construction market). We have not increased the price of any of our projects to date and are very cautious to begin a project that would result in an escalation. We presented this information to the customer and hoped to find an option that would be acceptable for both parties. As stated before, we understand the customers' disappointment, but we did our best to handle the situation honestly and professionally. We do feel that a BBB complaint is unwarranted especially given the fact that we never entered into a contract with the customer. Nonetheless, the customers are entitled to feel upset and disappointed if that is what they derived from the experience.

As I stated to the customers in person, FLA will provide them with as much information (drawings, proposals,etc.) to use with another contractor, should they decide to use one. This will not be altered due to a bad review. We wish them well.
