I called Joe D***** about doing some work for me, but I ended up hiring my neighbor for much less money. Joe referred me to Fosters Roofing. Apparently, he was getting some kind of kickback for the referral, as he was overly concerned about my roof. After I filled out the paperwork, I found out the $14,400 did NOT include the clips and straps, and was told I had to hire a third nail company. I've had wallboard installed which inhibits the access to the rafters, so I wanted this done while they had the roof open so I wouldn't have to have the soffits removed in order to add them. I was at work, when I received a text from my neighbor, stating I was getting a new roof! It seems Joe had called them and scheduled the job, although he has NOTHING to do with me or my property! I was floored that Fosters started the job without my prior consent. They dug ruts in my lawn with their truck, which leaked oil all over my driveway. I contacted them TWICE to clean it up. They used MY water with their pressure washer both times, not using any chemicals. They also left a huge gap in the soffit where the rats were getting in, so I bought some rodent foam to fill it in. They hung my gutters incorrectly, and because the angle is off, the water is not draining properly. It's pouring out into my brand new air conditioner! After looking at the mess they've created, I've decided to hire someone to reinstall my gutters and downspouts. They also apparently dropped something on my tin roof, as now it is bent and leaking into the lanai. I've tried sealing it to no avail. I bought aluminum flashing to see if that will stop it. I'm loosing immense amounts of gravel off the roof. I understand some, but this is more than I lost from my 20 year old roof! While I was on the roof, I discovered there are shingles loose, chips out of some of them, and rusty nails holding down the bracket. I have plenty of pictures to document this unfortunate episode. Cheap materials, shoddy work! Bad move...Foster's Roofing Enterprises, Inc. Response

Good morning,
I have reviewed this file and pulled all email communication regarding this project. It's disheartening to see so many lies written about our company. I spoke with ******** **** at length prior to receiving the Notice of Commencement and signed contract. I walked her through the NOC process (her daughter works for Pinellas County) and also explained that as a roofing contractor it is legally outside of our scope of work to change or alter the roof to wall attachment. I also pointed out that we did not have that written in or included on our contract. At that point she could have chosen to go with another contractor, if she would have liked.
We installed the roof in Jan of 2023 and have email communication stating how great of a job we did and how accommodating the crew was. She did mention the stains in the driveway and sent photos. She stated that she would withhold final payment until the stains were removed. We have photos of the stains cleaned from her driveway and final payment made.
We have in place a call logging system that tracks name/number/address/time/and reason for your call. We have had no communication from ******** since the final email sent on Feb 1st, 2023 and no calls. There is nothing in our system that reflects that she has ever had any concerns or issues with her roof/gutters/flat roof/etc. therefore giving us no chance to address them and/or access them.
As for her claim that she wasn't the one notified that the roof was being started, she is correct. This was due to the fact that the contract she signed had the number of ************ as the point of contact. That was the number that we called. When this was brought to our attention, we let her know the same. If she had her number on the paperwork, we would have contact her directly. We apologized for the confusion. Again, we have copies and receipts of everything that we have written above with the exception to anything that was said over the phone. The roof has a workmanship warranty of 5 years and if there are any active issues with the roof or concerns that should be taken to the shingle manufacturer the correct step would be to contact our office for assistance.
Hopefully these false claims will be removed and the homeowner. We request that this review be formally investigated and removed.Customer Response

9-29-24My daughter has NEVER worked for ***************, and what would that have to do with anything?*** ****** is someone who quoted me an estimate to put 2 recessed lights in my bathroom. I did not hire him.Just because he referred me to you, he should NOT have been your point of contact. He is not my power of attorney, nor does he have any authority over my affairs. I am the homeowner, and I am the one you should've gotten the verification from!I was unaware that the clips and straps were not included until AFTER the paperwork was signed. I had no idea I could back out, so when I was informed I needed a third nail company, I wanted to coordinate it to be done at the same time the roof was being replaced so they wouldn't have to go through the soffit. No access from the inside as sheetrock is holding up the insulation. Had I been notified beforehand, instead of hearing it from my neighbor, I could've arranged that.I did originally believe they did a good job cuz it looked ok, and they cleaned up after themselves, including boards I had supporting the bougainvillea. (I'm sure it wasn't intentional, but it's still a loss for me.) Since you were so reluctant to work on the oil in my driveway, I decided it wasn't worth it to try and get you to fix the ruts the truck made in my lawn.I did not walk around my house in the rain to inspect everything, nor did I climb up on the roof. But one rainy night, I reached out to put something in the recycling bin just outside my door. It was THEN that I saw the gutters were overflowing directly into my brand new AC unit!My friend and I attempted to adjust the mess, but ended up taking the * gutter down. The downspouts and gutters were packed with gravel and water! They weren't draining as they were not hung at the correct angle.I was contacting a pro when ****** hit. I have pictures and videos of everything.Review from Chris B

Foster's Roofing is highly unresponsive and I'm not even sure they're still in business??? They have failed to repair on ongoing leak to a brand new roof they installed on my mother's home back in 2017. Their team has been out 3 times to inspect and supposedly repair, yet the leak persists. The last time they were out on 4/14/23, they told us water is leaking through an unsealed / unpainted wall, but offered no receipt to detail their findings and told us they don't do the type of repair needed. In trying to explain to a contractor, so he could fix, he needed more details, so we've emailed the owner 4x and left voicemails requesting a receipt detailing their findings and recommendation on what to tell the contractor. In fact, we were put off by Pat M, who's number and BIO is featured on their home page. https://fosters-roofing.com; he told us to call an office number, and when we did, no live person answered. Bottom line: this is probably the absolute worst roofing company anyone could ever do business with. And their website is making false claims and promises, as they absolutely do not have a "dedicated" owner, but an absentee owner with an unresponsive office team and consultants. Not sure why the BBB would allow them A+ bragging rights.Review from Michele P

Very expensive and work they performed caused major problems. Four years later Another company had to come in and do the original work right and fix Fosters mistakes.
