This company has tried calling multiple family members and associates trying to trick them into soliciting information as well as giving them my personal business. Not only is this harassment and a clear violation of Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA) it is a deceptive collection practice and will be reported to the proper agencies. Please cease all further actions immediately.Business Response

This company is engaging in harassment and if not outright abusive, the language is certainly deceptive when aware it cannot lawfully bring such action for time-barred debts. I answered the call because I thought it was a timeshare company. I dont typically answer unknown numbers when no msg is left, but I have had a lot of random calls and I had the time to ask to be removed from any list. I truly dont know the source of the alleged debt. The agent, **** (female) spoke really fast and read off a company with a bunch of letters instead of a name. She said it was store credit (without saying a store name) the amount was $100+ and she said it was from 2016. She mentioned a lawyers name then said, unfortunately these types of debts dont ever go away. When I told her I had no knowledge of the debt & even if I had incurred the dubious debt, the date she provided was well over the 7 years for which it could be collected so I want my name removed from their call list. **** replied that they had confirmed my last 4 of my SSN, the acct was mine (it isnt) so she wasnt going to argue with me and she would list it as a direct refusal to pay. She then said Im going to end the call. I repeated that I do not owe or acknowledge the debt so I didnt not want to be contacted, but she just hung up. I called back. A different agent, a man this time, answered and when I asked to speak to a supervisor to explain the call that **** just ended, he hung up too. I placed one more call to confirm the name of the company (b/c I was hearing only an abbreviation) in order to make this complaint. I want to be removed from their contact list and not transferred/sold to another company to harass me further. I believe the company needs to train its agents in fair practice according to the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act.I plan to address this complaint to the ********** as well.Business Response

I received a call from a representative for owing a debt. I explained thoroughly that I didn't understand as I was working with a different 3rd party and I then asked what the company was prior to them "owning" my debt and was not given a clear answer. I did not agree to anything, not a payment or settlement. I asked for everything in writing via email. Upon receiving the email of my "debt," the same day, I responded the following day with a debt validation letter to prove this is indeed my debt and also to prove they own this debt. This was sent in reply to the original email to me and I also included their support email, the only other email I have found from their site. Obviously, within this letter included a cease and desist until proof is provided back to me. After a week now, I received a call from their office phone number with an automated person. Nobody answered and the call was dropped. I tried to call back numerous times with no answer. Therefore, they violated my request to cease and desist communications and also have not provided any documents on as requested. I'm asking for this matter to be closed.Business Response

This company has been contacting me and sending me threatening messages on my phone about my "social security number." I have no business with this company and have not received anything from AA Recovery in writing about any debt. If so, I would seek validation. They need to stop harassing me via phone unless they can provide something in writing to me that explains their contacting me. That is my right. If they continue to harass me I will seek legal counsel.Business Response

This company called me today telling me that I owe a loan from personify. I am a victim of identity theft and have been in talk with personify for months sent proof and everything of the fraud. They then put it in collections and gives it off to another company that contacted me a few weeks ago to know this company telling me the first company sold it to them to collect. I asked for proof of the debt and somewhere to send proof to. I have seen many reviews that this company is very aggressive in how they want to collect pay. I will not give money for a loan i didnt take out. I even spoke to a lawyer and was told even if money was taken out my account to pay off the loan I still can dispute . To be told by the collector that I probably wont win due to pay being taken out to pay the loan off the **** should just pay. Yea leave m e alone I have checked all my credit and they have removed this fraud off my Accra.Business Response

This company poses as an actual legitimate debt collector, while in fact, they are scammers trying to collect what is commonly referred to as "phantom debt". This company called my cellphone and left a threatening message regarding a "pay day loan" from "**********", that I never took out or agreed to. They used my maiden name, which was odd to begin with. Not only did I not agree to any loan, but payday loans were outlawed in my state of Arizona eight years BEFORE they accused my of taking out said loan. ALSO, even if their accusation was valid (which it's not), the Arizona statute of limitations was passed. From my research, this is a common practice of AA Recovery Solutions, as almost every single complaint against them is identical to mine. I attempted to call the company to come to an amicable resolution to the matter, but have been ignored. I fully believe the company is aware that it's actions violate both State and Federal Law. I need to speak to the company's ATTORNEY or LEGAL REPRESENTATION to resolve this matter at this point. If that does not happen, I will be taking legal action against them as allowed by law.Business Response

Thank you for bringing this matter to our attention. AA Recovery Solutions is a third party debt collection agency which is fully licensed in the state of *******. The referenced account was placed here for our agency to handle collection efforts. We have requested the original contract to validate the account per the consumers request on 11/19/2024. There have been no further communication attempts made from our company since the conversation on 11/19/2024 when the dispute was entered on the file. We have forwarded this claim to the proper channels within our company and counsel has been notified of the claim.

I am rejecting this response because: The company is knowingly and willingly taking part in what is commonly known as "phantom debt collection". Phantom debt collection is illegal in all fifty states, and offer severe penalties to those companies that violate the law. Both my husband and I have made several attempts to resolve this matter with the company, requesting to speak to their legal representation. They have ignored those attempts. We are currently filing cases with the appropriate agencies, and are getting prepared to file with a District Court to recover damages, and to also prevent this company from harming any other consumers. I do not believe the company actually retains any type of legal representation, and has a long track record of default judgements against it after other consumers litigated against it. We are preparing to take legal steps to compel the company to appear in our litigation efforts.
Sincerely,
***** *******Business Response

Our counsel notified us that they had contacted you. The account is not a "phantom" account as we were able to request the original contract for this, however we recognize that you are disputing the validity of the account. We have closed the account in our system and returned it back as a disputed account. At this point, **** is considering this matter closed.Customer Answer
