We contracted with Patricks handyman and remodeling to complete the following: get rid of popcorn ceiling and paint ceiling, demo and remodeling two full baths, demo and lay **** square feet tile floor, replace interior doors, paint interior walls. Througout the project garbage and food remnants were left throughout the house and garage leading to rats and mice infesting and eating through piping to the dishwasher and runnig through our house. ******* came to our **** with my 3 children home yelling at us about being finicky about details and yelling at his staff. We were very patient having so much money already into the project. On October 12, 2022 we were fed up with them not showing up and telling us they were going to complete our bathroom and text to ask when they were finishing and this inquiry led to them quitting our job. We only asked them to complete the project by november 1st when they started in march and should have completed by june at the latest. we were fed up having one bathroom for 6 months with 5 people at home and them just showing up for a couple hours when they felt like it. We went to an attorney who sent a letter stating that we wanted ****** to be able to complete all the work they left undone as per our contract with no response. We are spending money to finish what they didn't' complete and can't spend the money to take them to court just for them to claim bankruptcy.

    Hello ***********************************,

We did work at the ***** properties. They kept changing and adding to the scope of work and had their 3 kids and dog constantly in our way while we were working. We were patient and completed most of the work that we intended to do until it became to much. They would call and text late at night with new complaints or changes after we had been there that same day and asked if there were any questions or concerns. As far as the rats gothis house had an infestation before we got there. Wet spots on the ceilings from the rats being in the attic for so long and chewed up electrical wiring. When we moved their washer and dryer to install the new flooring there was a hole in the drywall and piles of rat p*** on the floor. They had active rat traps set throughout the house and told me that they had a professional come out and give them a quote to take care of the infestation but it was $1,000 but that was way to much we can do it ourselves we completed all of the work that had been paid for and after our last disagreement with the ***** we decided to part ways. When we did they had not paid the full amount of the estimate, we left an adequate amount of money left for the work that wasnt finished. Now many months later they are writing reviews. I still have all the before and after photos of their house and every during the work. We also hired a professional cleaning company in between phases of work, which I have receipts for. After meeting them and seeing the state of their home we really wanted to help this family so we gave them a lower price than the previous 3 proposals they received. We are willing to go to court to settle this but in fact have not received any letters.

I am rejecting this response because:
    In response to Patricks message:

It was known from the original estimate that we wanted someone willing to work with us living in residence. Our 3 kids are grown and stay to themselves and Lilo our dog was a mascot among the workers.  When needed they put her outside and considering i was home on leave of absence for the first month of the project due to major surgery I kept her outside on the back patio with me during the 4-6 hours workers were actually in our home.  In response to them receiving text messages after communicating with us during the day.... once I was back at work I work **** hr shifts at hospitals and travel out of town and everyone was always gone by the time my husband **** got home from work around 2-4pm.  So by the time we both would do a walk through when I got home from work yes we would text around 8pm with things we noticed from the days work.   There were times at the end we would go days without them showing up to work or hearing from them and they admitted and apologized for it but it never changed.  At the end we just wanted our house completed with the contracted items. They can come in and say they contracted for a lower price for the family they felt bad for after walking through their home and quoting lower then 3 previous offers.  We never shared what others quoted us for work and never communicated how many quotes we received before theirs.  It was none of their business.  ***** told us they were trying to grow their business and wanted to use our home as a showcase for their work.  They gave us an initial quote and we discussed possible additions which they were fully on board with since it would increase their business.  We received updated invoices with contract upgrades which I emailed back and approved.  I have all these emails saved.  To summarize work not completed within the contract: our master bathroom was left incomplete needing to finish the shower, drywall, vanity, lighting and paint.  "Punch out" work as they called leftover work throughout the rest of the house not completed includes unfinished tile in the office along the sliding door and in the living room along the front door as well as a few tiles that lifted and are not level throughout the dining room and living room.  There is unfinished drywall work around outlets in the office and the light pulled out of the ceiling in the dining room not completed.  When demolition of the flooring they destroyed the boards under our kitchen cabinets that still remain bare.   The cleaning crew they hired cleaned the Livingroom and dining room floors but nothing else.  There is grout and quick set used to set the tile on all the floors in the master bedroom and bathroom and that still remains on edge flooring of the living room that wasn't' completed yet when the cleaning crew came in that we have been manually scrubbing since they left. We contacted an attorney who did send a letter stating our demands which was never responded to.  We have spent several thousand dollars to complete work they left incomplete and in clean up leaving us not wanting to spend another thousand dollars in attorney fees to go to court over what they know they left us with just for them to end up claiming bankruptcy. We want to prevent others from going through what we have been through with this company.  ******* can claim he knows what happened throughout this job but other than the very beginning and towards the end he was never here. Its very hard to put into words on a computer the frustration, damage and total disrespect shown to our personal belongings during the process when we always asked where we needed to move things, what were they working on next so we could prevent damage.  There was little to no communication regarding these matters throughout the project and I really have no excuse as to why we didn't split ways other than I was raised to believe the best in people and to fulfil a contract signed.
    Sincerely,
