I tried to contact them through their website to cancel the subscription. They have since charged me $69.68 monthly for the last 3 months. I did accept the offer for a subscription for NME at which time I was told I could cancel at anytime. I've tried to contact them through their website but I never received a response from the company. I am still being charged and still receiving these unwanted magazines in the mail. I am attempting to resolve this through the BBB before I escalate through my credit card.

I called an 1-800 number from a flyer I received in the mail to activate my entry to a big money prize, once on the phone the main thing they did was try to sign me up for a bunch of unrelated things one of which was National Magazine Exchange. I did accept the offer for a subscription for NME at which time I was told I could cancel at anything but a few days later when I tried to cancel I found that to be untrue. On the National Magazine Exchange website it has a submission form to cancel your magazine subscriptions within 10 days or maybe longer pending on the state you reside in but I never received a response from the company even after making a total of 3 submissions of that online form. I did submit the online cancelation form through the NME website within the first 10 days of signing up. I am still being charged and still receiving these unwanted magazines in the mail.

Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2021/12/27) */ Dear Ms. ********, The National Magazine Exchange has been sponsoring sweepstakes for over thirty years as a way to promote our consumer subscription service offerings. The information mailed to our recipients merely welcomes them to telephone us to enter the sweepstakes. The mailer contains the complete sweepstakes rules, including instructions on how to enter, the date of the drawing, the odds of winning, all eligibility restrictions, and the statements that there was no purchase or payment necessary to enter or to win, and that a purchase would not improve the chances of winning. After completion of the entry our callers are offered discounted magazine services as well as various products to accept, if elected. Upon receiving your complaint an investigation was launched and no records of a cancellation request was received. We are looking into this deeper to ensure no technical issues are present that may have prevented your requests from being received. We apologize for the inconvenience this has caused and have provided a full refund of $167.25 to the payment method charged initially. Please note the refund may take 3-5 business days to be reflected due to processing. If you should have any further questions or concerns please feel free to contact us at ************ or by emailing **@nmemags.com. Best Regards, Quality Manager National Magazine Exchange Consumer Response /* (2000, 7, 2021/12/28) */ (The consumer indicated he/she ACCEPTED the response from the business.) I appreciate the response and getting my money back to me in a timely manner. I did submit twice to cancel through the NME website and once through an external website with no responses.

NATIONAL MAGAZINE EXCHANGE is trying to collect a debt from I do not know what, I have canceled all my magazines and not one seemed to be coming from them. They are doing it with MONARCH RECOVERY MANAGEMENT, who have been harassing me. I do not know what the debt was for and when I asked they said they did not have that information. When I clicked to go to their site I was redirected to some ruffle scheme, so I thought this was a scam, I also went and read the number of complaints ongoing for both companies and do not inspire any confidence.

Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2021/11/30) */ Hello Mr. ******, Thank you for escalating your concern to us regarding your account. After further review of the details of the account we have concluded that you responded to our mail piece on 7/19/2021. At that time, you and a Representative chose several magazines to be received, and even discussed how to exchange unwanted titles using our Reader's Exchange Program. After the magazine selection you approved billing for the one-year subscription on the payment method you provided during the contact. You declined additional offers that were available to you and the call was concluded. In consideration of your request we have cancelled the account and have notified Monarch to cease collection attempts. Please be advised that it may take several weeks for the magazines to stop shipping as the publishers pre-print the labels. Any items received from us can be discarded or kept at your discretion. We have also added you into our Do Not Contact records to prevent future offers and correspondence. If you should need further assistance, please reach us by calling XXX-XXX-XXXX or emailing **@nmemags.com. Best Regards, Quality Manager National Magazine Exchange

Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2021/11/09) */ Hello Mr. ********, Thank you for escalating your concern so we could investigate your account and concerns. Upon investigating the account and calls associated with the order we have found the following. On July 14, 2021 you contacted us to respond to the Strike It Rich sweepstakes entry you received via mail. After you were entered into the sweepstakes you then went on to select several magazines with the Representative, before discussing billing and providing your authorization and payment details. Upon reviewing the payment details for the account, we see that the last two payments were remitted to us via check. We have cancelled the remaining payment due and reduced your account to a paid in full status. No further payments are expected for the account and we have added you to our Do Not Contact list to prevent futures offers from being offered to you at your residence. Please note that if you move or change residences you will need to notify us so we may update our records. If you should have any further questions or concerns please feel free to contact us directly at **@nmemags.com or XXX-XXX-XXXX. Best Regards, Quality Manager National Magazine Exchange

Company sent a form to enter a sweepstakes a while back that was foolish enough to enter thinking it was related to PCH. All of a sudden, got a letter today saying I had ordered 8 magazine subscriptions from them at $35 a month. I did not order ANY magazines from them and I definitely would not order the magazines they say I ordered much less read them. PLUS, they are claiming I authorized auto-withdrawal which I would not and did not do!
