I'm a veteran and moved to ********** from ** to ******* for college. Purchased a car from Das Auto 24 Feb 2022 for 10,600..wasn't able to complete the first semester due to shingles and returned to Az.**** the sles rep verbally promised to take the car back if I couldn't stay.(it was such a good deal) later also contacted me in Az about renting my condo in ******* and to look at taking back the car. When I told him how didn't allow his pets and he couldn't rent my place all communications stopped. I took the car in because the driver seat was loose..they were going to order review mirror not able to see..cracked and seperated..the warranty I paid for was $2,086...covers nothing and have not been able to find a shop to cover. This car is rusted inside and was just told it was once flooded and components are rusted, seats are rusted underneath and obviously had been damaged in high water..not sure what to do..I have a car that I owe 9k and can't get it repaired. Companies who take advantage of women and veterans is unlawful..This company should be fined..I'd like my money back..

You bought a 10 year old Chrysler 200 convertible with over ******* miles in very good used condition. All our cars been serviced before they go onto the sales lot.
The car was never flooded and always serviced in *******. You got a copy of the Carfax and can see it yourself that there was never anything about flood. Whoever told you that the car was in a flood has no idea what he or she is talking.
It is correct that you brought the car back to have the seat fixed. So all you are complaining now is a blind mirror???!! Thats what we should get fined for??
As we can also see on the Carfax, that you had the alternator replaced in July in ********** under your used car service plan (warranty) and just one month later the car passed the emission inspection in *******.
So where is the problem now??

I purchased a 2015 *** X1 with little over 74K miles on 04/23/23. ************************* was the person I was working with all along. Roughly about a week prior I called and spoke with **** about the car. I asked him about the overall condition. Exterior, interior, mechanical condition... **** did a video walk around and sent few pics because I reside in ********* and was unable to physically view the vehicle. He said the vehicle is in excellent condition, and that his mechanic thoroughly looked everything over and there are no issues at all and that the vehicle would be safe to drive all the way back to *********. So I arrange financing and schedule flight to pickup the vehicle on 04/23/23. **** requested to have the bank send him the check to have the vehicle paid for prior to my arrival. I meet with **** to pick up the vehicle. **** has me sign some paperwork and sends me on the way. Immediately the following day I had an appointment scheduled with **************** service to have the vehicle thoroughly inspected prior to my trip back to ********* just to make sure there are no issues with the vehicle. They looked everything over and to my surprise there is an estimate over $4k in repairs. Severe valve cover leak, oil filter housing leaking, missing engine shield, drivers wheel bearing, cracked windshield, and several dents all over the body. The dealer highly advised not to drive this car back to ********* in this condition due to fire hazard. The oil was leaking all over the exhaust manifold. The dealer also mentioned that someone deep cleaned the engine bay to cover up this oil leak issue. I called **** about all of this and he never responded to my phone calls or texts.

Correct, ********************** purchased an 8-year-old *** X1, one owner, low miles, 1500$ below market value from **. I drove the car my self several times and did not have any issues with oil leak or smell at any time.

You forgot to mention that **** picked you up on a Sunday, when we are usually closed, from the airport and gave you plenty time to inspect the vehicle. If you had not liked the car, we were more than happy to refund you at this point.
You had nothing to complain on Sunday, there was no cracked windshield or major dents in the car.The only two nicks in the bumper you were informed about when **** send you the  walk around videos the week before. Also was the car running the whole time and there was also no oil leak.  Unfortunately, we have no control over what you do or not do to the car after you leave our property.
Every customer receives a Carfax from ** and as you can see enclosed the car was serviced regularly and just in December with ***** miles it was serviced from ************ and then shortly after with ***** miles from ***************.

We also check all our cars and we did not see any oil leak.
If there was an oil leak, we had fixed it before we offered it for sale. Which is by the way ridicules what you got quoted for replacing a valve cover gasket. *** book time for this gasket is 4 hours. According to your estimate *** would charge you 550$ per hour for this. (See also book time enclosed)
The skid plate under the car was not installed when we got the car and as *** quoted you it should be installed. So, this is not really an important part.
We sell only good used cars, no rebuilt or salvage vehicles, and service everyone. Since you bought a used car and did not have any complaints about it until you have *** look at it, we understand your concern, but there is nothing we can do at this point since you bought the vehicle AS is and had already two repair shops working on it.

I am rejecting this response because:

Everything Das Autohaus is saying pertaining to this case is one big lie. Before picking up the vehicle I asked **** several times if the vehicle was safe to drive all the way back to *********. **** said everything was perfect with the car and mechanically sound. I did not have much time to inspect the car as **** was in a rush and the dealership was closed. I trusted that he was being honest with me. Immediately after I picked up the vehicle I drove less than a few miles down the road and smelled something burning. I pulled over at gas station, opened the hood and noticed oil dripping onto the hot exhaust manifold. Total fire hazard!!! I scheduled a service appointment Immediately the next day with a local *** dealer for a full inspection of the vehicle. Service advisor showed me all of the dents along the sides of the car, crack in windshield, explained that there was a severe valve cover gasket leak and oil filter housing leak, along with the missing engine splash shield. The technician said that this leak has been going on for a while. They checked the previous service history and the previous owner was made aware of this same scenario, of the major oil leak when the car was last in for service. Which is probably why the previous owner traded the car in, due to repair bill being very high. The technician said the engine was steam cleaned prior to me picking up the vehicle to hide all of the oil that was leaking all over the entire engine bay. After I got the news I made several attempts to reach out to ************************* to see what he can do about this. I called and texted him many times. I got absolutely zero response. The guy just disappeared. I ended up having to rent a uhaul for close to $1,000 and hauled the vehicle back to *********. Now I'm stuck with a huge unanticipated repair bill and the cost of transport. I'm clearly not the first person this happened to. If you read all the reviews on ******* You will see several other scenarios just like this. Very bad way of going about business. I would not be able to sleep at night knowing I sold someone a vehicle that is a total safety hazard.

      Sincerely,

      *******************************
