Was quoted a price of $2000 and told that this number would decrease based on how much they were able to procure from insurance companies. They extracted much higher amounts than the proposed costs for each of 3 separate repairs and claims resulting in over ***** from insurance companies directly to them and they are demanding another 6300 from me personally. in total over $14,300 for what was quoted by them and others at a combined estimate of $8,300 on the high endBusiness Response

You were not quoted $2,000. Your insurance company deemed the amount necessary to repair your vehicle and paid you instead of paying us. We are simply wanting you to pass that payment down to the shop for the repairs that were completed and your insurance company approved. Not a single shop does estimates and give them to client on insurance jobs because ultimately it
s up to them what repairs cost and they send a field adjuster to come in and substantiate the damage with pictures and OEM repair procedures. We have a repair authorization signed by you that indicates that you are obligated to pay the shop everything you may receive from insurance company for repairs. So if you think that the repairs are $2,000 and your insurance company paid upwards of 8 to repair it , that it means you should be entitled to keep the difference of $6,000, you should think again, because for once its not how it works and for twice it's very against the law to do what you are attempting to do. This monies were paid to the shop to repair your vehicle, which were completed, all the shop is merely asking you to do is pass that payment down to us.

On November 15, 2023, my vehicle was totaled due to flooding while it was parked in a flooded parking lot. An auto body shop Car Geeks LLC mistakenly towed my vehicle from the flooded parking lot instead of the other vehicle they were supposed to tow. As a result, I reported my vehicle as stolen to the police. Several days later, the owner of the auto body shop contacted me and informed me that he had possession of my vehicle. However, a significant complication arose when my insurance company presented me with an inflated bill for work that had not been authorized by me. Despite this, my insurance company only covered a portion of the bill, leaving me responsible for the remaining amount.I discovered that the form I signed for releasing my vehicle was, in fact, an authorization for Car Geeks LLC to perform extensive repairs without my explicit consent. I never requested any repairs for my vehicle. Furthermore, without signing this form, they refused to release my vehicle to my insurance company for an independent assessment.I feel strongly that I was misled and tricked into signing this form under false pretenses. The body shop did not fully disclose the implications of the authorization form, and their actions have effectively held my vehicle hostage. Despite my requests to release my vehicle to my insurance company, Car Geeks LLC has refused and forced me to sign a work authorization to use it as binding.I believe this conduct is not only unethical but also illegal. It has placed me in a position where I am unable to release my vehicle and has caused undue stress and financial strain. I am seeking your assistance in resolving this matter promptly.I respectfully request that your office investigate Car Geeks LLC for their deceptive practices and take appropriate action to prevent further victimization of consumers.Enclosed with this letter, I have included copies of the signed documents, police report, and any other relevant evidence to support my complaint.Business Response

vehicle was not towed by mistake,as evidenced by authorization form signed by the customer-that is a lie,also no one can force another person to sign anything,he did it out of his own free will,no one forced his hand he could have chosen another shop to handle his vehicle.
Vehicle was declared totall loss and appropriate action was taken ,authorized by customer signed form granting ********************** custody and handling of the vehicle,charges were due and vehicle could not be released without those being paid,its just basic concept.
Furthermore the customer ***************** has filed a civil complaint with the court and the outcome will be decided by the judge one way or the other.
We hereby request BBB to close this complaint as it is already in with legal proceedings per customer initiated action,so outcome will be decided by arbitrary judge.
We have nothing further to add to this at this time.

I am rejecting this response because:Here are the details of the incident:
Unauthorized Towing: My vehicle was towed without my consent. I never authorized or requested Car Geeks to tow my vehicle. The police report attached clearly indicates that the towing was performed erroneously.
Lack of Work Authorization: The authorization form provided by Car Geeks does not include a description of any work to be performed on my vehicle. As such, there was no basis for any service or repair to be carried out on my vehicle.
False Claims: Car Geeks falsely claimed that they obtained my signature for the release of the vehicle. I have never signed any release form or given permission for Car Geeks to take custody of my vehicle.
Inflated Charges: Car Geeks has issued charges for services that were neither requested nor authorized by me. These charges are inflated and unjustified.

customer brought the car for repairs,we did our estimate ,his insurance company actually approved it initially,however later down the road they told us they are denying coverage altogether due to customer *********************** commiting fraud
when purchased that policy,we advised the customer and told him he is still responsible for same amount that insurance aproved and since they were not gonna cover it due to fraud on his part he has to pay us,after going back and forth for couple of weeks with him,we had a repo company show up on our lot with Repo order on his vehicle for non payment to the lender,in those cases when Repo order is issued we have legal obligation to release the vehicle to the repo company which was done recently,the custome ris just upset that he lost the car most likely,but we dont control or get involved in his affairs with lender,if payment is not made and they issue repo order we have to comply and release the vehicle to them,again that was done few days back.
At this point we have nothing further to add.

I put a $995 deposit on a car that was listed on Craigslist.Story short car never existed now Don ****** *** dealt with numerous times over phone tells me the $995 is to located me a car nothing we agreed on. He is lying just like his partner ***.Car geeks address was where I was told to come see car.I spoke to *** several times they Car geeks land line.Also Ive forwarded a few complaints of many files with BBB against CAr GEEKS basically of them doing same thing with many other customers,they even name *** specifically by name in one of complaints as the salesman.Ive added complaints to this message but anyone can go on BBB site and see all the complaints filed against Car Geeks claiming the same scam.Coincidence I dont think so.They should be ashamed ifrobbing people of their money.

Deposit to hold a car was not refunded. The car was registered to the dealership and they did not have insurance on the car. I was allowed to drive the car down the block on side roads but they did not have a dealer tag so I was denied allowed to drive on Freeway or any main roads. That is an outright lie,we allow test drives within reasonable distance from the dealerships,also this car was pre inspected by company chosen by the customer and passed the inspection.
Customer paid $2000 deposit ,we took the car off the market,in the process effectively losing two potential prospects for the sale,customer flew in from his state to *******,test drove the car and said he has few more to take a look at and went missing after that,as per contract signed by the customer which he has a copy of as well-deposit in that case is forfeitted,we have nothing further to add to this matter.

I am rejecting this response because: The car was not taken off the market it was still on the dealership website for sale and not marked pending. I have screenshots saved on my phone. It was still on the dealership website on the day I flew to *******. When asked to be picked up from the airport in the ** I had the deposit on I was told they could not drive the car to the airport as it did not have insurance. When I got to the place the ** was sitting I was told I could go down the side road but I was denied being able to take it out on the freeway or the main road as they did not have the car registered or insured. The sales man did not put a dealer tag on the nor did he have one inside the car. At the other dealerships I visited while I was in ******* every salesman had a dealer plate and I was allowed to test drive the suvs on the freeway, main roads, parking lots any where I wanted to go. *** at CarGeeks did not allow me to drive the car anywhere but a side street with a speed limit of 35mph.

The customer brought their Tesla Model S in to ** for repairs . Our team worked closely with his insurance to get the claim approved for the front bumper replacement as requested. Once the claim was approved the customer decided he wanted to install aftermarket parts, at which point we kindly informed him our shop only installs original OEM parts for Tesla repairs per the insurance approved claim.
We informed his insurance of his decision not to proceed with the repairs and informed the customer of our charges for services rendered to release the vehicle. Please refer to the list of services provided until that point.

I am rejecting this response because they never provided me with a estamite as you can see in info in sent you on there web site they do install aftermarket parts and my insurance compay or myself did not ok any work from day one they knew i wanted the aftermaket bunper from day one per there employee ****** told me they would install it they would and left car on a side street not on there property and gave me my car back with damage to fender when they put bumper back on it took them about 15 to do reinstall it they need to be put on notice from the BBB so other people are not taken advance of. Purchased 2006 *** m6 with 94k miles. ****** price $12,500. I got there on a Saturday at about 3pm. I met the salesman ****. Car dead needed a jump. Take it for a test drive. he says we can't go far because it has no gas. So quick. 3 mins. Hurried me in paid $13500. asked him about a 2013 *** x5. He said he didn't have time to take that one out because he was closing. So he said give me **** towards the car and come back. Total of ********. I left the dealership in the M6. Before I got 3 miles an engine malfunction light came on, then reduced power, critical damage warning came on. Immediately I called him and asked if I could come back. He said he left. Told me next week I'll look at it. So I limped it home. I figured out when I got home the key fob didn't work and had no key so I couldn't lock the car. I asked him what day I could come back, he said he was going to ******* and to Meet his brother *** at 10am Saturday. i would take the X5 while they figured out the M6. so Saturday morning i brought the car there running badly and no **** Just a woman who said they were closed. **** never answered the phone, the woman called *** and he said he didn't know i was coming and knew nothing about the X5 deal. He told me the X5 is no longer available because of transmission problems. A friend who works at *** plugged the m6 into computer to diagnose. the car has been giving the same codes since last year and they cleared the codes the same day i came to buy it. The cool thing about *** is you can see every date and time it was plugged in to the ecm. i didnt feel comfortable safely driving it. I asked if he could send a tow truck. He lauhed. I asked him for refund and Keep the dealer fee. He laughed again and told me to go f*ck myself. They willingly put me in an unsafe vehicle and let me drive it away knowing it didn't work properly and I could have had an accident and hurt. This is fraud. Sir you bought a 16 year old car from a dealer, we buy them from auctions AS IS ,and we sell all cars AS IS with fully dosclosed paperwork that you signed(please refer to your sales paperwork,multiple AS IS disclosures signed by you).
as far as you claiming ECM been plugged several times or what not,this is a car that had multiple owners in the past its 16 years old,we have to way to know who and how many times plugged it in prior to us buying it from the auction.
You ame in,drove the car,paid for it,signed,there were no issues,there is nothing beyond that point we can say,once customer takes possesion of our vehicle and drives off,we have no control of how thery drive it and what happens to it.

I went to car geeks to buy a car. I gave Uri ***** to purchase a vehicle . He told me he would be able to let me pick a vehicle from an auction date base and he would get it for me no problem. I made him aware of my credit score and that I didnt have a valid license he still said it would be no problem he could get me a car or he would refund my money. Considering I never had to give him the money up front. I picked out a car and a few weeks went by and he kept telling me he was running into problems . After 3 weeks I just asked for a reimbursement and he agreed but kept ****** of my money . When I asked him why? He said it was his finders fee, which was never discussed and If I was able to get anyone else to sell and registar a car to me he would give the money back . A month later I was able to purchase and registar a car from another dealer ship. When I went to his dealership to show and tell him . He basically threaten my friend and kicked me off the property . He then contacted me a few weeks later saying that he would refund my money if I took some negative reviews down from ******** I explained to him that I didnt write them but he insisted I did . When I told him I was able to purchase and register a car. He told me that I was lying and that my car was fake and my registration was fake and basically just wouldnt give me my money back. Please refer to your contract ,as per terms if customer opts to pull out of the contract, the $695 is non refundable but applicable towards future purchase. As far as credit score ,we finance 99% of customers regardless of their scores, however you never advised us that your driver license was suspended ,that came up ounce we submitted the loan to the lender for underwriting, they have told us that license is suspended for multiple violations, in the case of purchasing a vehicle that is a deal breaker as neither the lender nor ******* ********** of ***** Vehicles will allow the loan and registration to go tru ,until the driver license is fixed, its pretty basic requirement-if you are purchasing a car-you must have valid driver license .Please let us know when your license is fixed and we will be gladly to resume the process's and apply the $695 towards vehicle purchase, this was all explained to you in detail am not sure why you r trying to present it as it is our fault that you have a suspended driver license.

The sales man absolutely was aware that I did not have a valid drivers license I was not going to not tell him that and waste both his and my time. He told me that he had lenders that would be able to do it for me anyway. Even when after a couple weeks he informed me that he would not be able to get a car under my name because of my license and asked me if I had anyone elses name I could put it in . I gave him a friends name who was willing to do it with a valid license. He still was unable to get a car for what ever. Reason. He said he would refund my money and when he kept $700 .00 I was like wtf? And he said it wasnt his fault I wouldnt be able to get a car registered to me and if I could he would refund my $695.00 . I HIGHLY DOUBT that sales rep told you that he can do the deal without valid license, we can neither finance nor register the car with suspended license statuses far as putting the car under your friend that is considered a straw purchase he was not aware that its forbidden, he might have told you that without knowledge of it, however when he approached media advised him that it is impossible and illegal do to a start purchase and we would not do it, and again i doubt that sales rep told you anything of that nature,regardsless of it ,sales rep are not in power to make the final decision,i am, and if the scenario is not legal to do i would absolutely reject it, when ur driver license is fixed, feel free to come and ask for ******,we will pout you in the car and apply the $695 towards the purchase prices you r not really losing anything.Your contract states its non refundable but applicable and we r willing to apply it as long as you provide valid legitimate documents to register and finance the car.

After accident I got phone call from this company with offer to repair my car.Car was Tesla model Y. I looked Tesla approved body shop. And they told me that they had ***** approved. I brought my Tesla to body shop. Tesla logo was on wall. My insurance company give me estimate $4600. When I left them car they told me that next day estimate should be ready. After that I didnt hear about estimate. One month we was waiting for parts.After parts was delivered they started repair. After couple days battery in Tesla completely discharged. One month later they called me and told that they finished and my Tesla completely ready and I need to take it because no free space. But it discharged and reserved battery brake down.now they cant charge, cant open my car. They offered me use Tesla road side assistance. I used Tesla app to schedule tow truck.company management **** load my Tesla on truck and bring my car to Tesla dealership in Fort loderdale. It takes 2 weeks to repair battery. On 08/22.22 I got message from ***** that my car ready. When my wife come to dealership she paid attention that ***** only partial repaired. And not ready go to road.Partial y painted, parts not fitted to each other. We tried to contact Car Geeks LLC to get refund, but they blocked ours phones. And we cant contact them. I checked how much money my insurance company paid for this terrible repair. And was wondering what total paid amount was $18000. I didnt know about this. No car Geeks, no Geico told my that estimate rise 4 times.All I need to get partial refund to complete my car repair.
