I purchased a car from start auto liquidation on 11/17/24. So I went into the office today 12/17/24 to retrieve my hard tag due to my paper tag expiring at midnight I was told I had to wait until my hard tag comes in I then asked how is it possible for me to ride on an expired tag until then the manager guy I dont know his name responded its nothing he can do without any hesitation cause he couldnt provide me with another paper tag so I asked so if I get stopped by cops will he pay the ticket he responded again thats just how it works with no sense of urgency or regard to my issue at hand. So I left and had a relative that I have search for my tag and she says that the only tag she see for me for my previous car and nothing for the vehicle I have now so nothing has yet been submitted for me a hard tag and now I have an expired tag and no one at this business seems to care about it eitherBusiness Response

Ms. **** was here on December 17th, 2024 late in the afternoon asking about her tag and registration. Since we don't process our tag and registration directly at the dealer, we use the services of a runner to take our work to the tag agency. Ms. ***** work had been submitted on that same day she came in. Once work is submitted to the tag agency, it is our policy not to assign another temporary plate. Assigning another temporary plate while work is at the tag agency can cause us to kick the permanent work done by the agency out of the system. In other words, if the tag agency has already processed her work, and one of our employees assigns another temporary tag, that temporary tag will kick the permanent work out of the system. This would mean the tag agency would have to do the work a second time. This same explanation was given to Ms. **** but as you can see, she was not going to take that answer no matter what it was. Unfortunately, she needed to wait until the work was processed. Being that she came in late in the afternoon, we were not able to communicate with the tag agency to see if the work was being processed. If it had not, we could have possibly given her another temporary tag. Ms. ***** tag was successfully processed and brought in the following day.Customer Answer

Sincerely,
******** *** I am not pleased with the response that was given because its a lie I didnt receive my tag until two days after it expired. Also I showed up after four pm cause I was told itll b ready when I got there on 12/17 so I drove from plantation to ********* for nothing and was greeted unprofessionally like it was my fault cause the miscommunication within Start Auto all because a mishap on there end I attached a screenshot of me messaging my sales *** ***** who stayed professional and courteous through out the whole ordeal but it was beyond his control and I sent that particular text to him 12/18 so if I had gotten my hard tag the next day as the business stated there wouldve been no reason for me to feel as I did with me riding on an expired tag for 2days due to there negligence and unprofessionalism without an sincere apologyInitial Complaint

I visited the company's website and was interested in purchasing a vehicle (SUV). I then contacted a sales representative via email and subsequently spoke to Mr. *** ******** (sales representative) about possibly purchasing the vehicle I was interested in. I inquired regarding whether the vehicle listed was reconditioned and he assured me that the vehicle in question was in good condition and was only awaiting a driver. He advised of a final price of $6,500 for a used Mercedes GLA ************************* good faith, I deposit funds if I was serious on purchasing. I asked for him to forward a bill of sale and sales documents for review as I would be exporting the vehicle. On 14th October, I provided the company with all documents required (passport, drivers license) and Mr. ***** ******* ********************* manager at the company) forwarded the company's banking info. for me to execute a wire transfer. The next day (15th), I sent a wire transfer in the amount of $6,500 to Start Auto Liquidation from my bank account held at ***********************************************. I requested sales documents again for my review and received them on 20th October 2024. I noticed that there was no warranty and that the vehicle was reconditioned for sale, hence I contacted Mr. *** ******** and advised that I would not proceed with purchasing a used vehicle unless there was a 3 mth warranty and was concerned about the reconditioned vehicle. After consulting with his manager, he advised that this was not possible and thus, I advised him that I made a decision not to proceed with a purchase and requested return of funds. On 23rd October, I sent an official email advising both Mr ******* and Mr. ******** of my decision and provided them with my banking details to transfer funds back to me. I also gave them the option to transfer funds to my ************ account which is based in ******* to avoid additional transfer charges. After several calls to Mr. ******** & 2 weeks later, I have not received my funds back.Business Response

Our records indicate that that we never approved a loan for ******* ********* nor collected funds from him.
We are not a Dealer nor Start Auto Liquidation. We are a Finance Company.
This complaint should be addressed to the Dealer he purchased the vehicle from.

Mr. ********* decided to purchase a vehicle valued at approximately $10000 dollars for the total price of $6500. He initiated this transaction via phone call with our sales agent who advised him this vehicle was part of a liquidation sale. Mr. ********* did not hesitate to secure the vehicle by wiring the full amount to our company and asked to please have it ready for export. When he received his documentation to sign, Mr. ********* automatically demanded a 3 months warranty on this vehicle. After going back and forth with him, trying to have him understand that there is no way to warranty a vehicle that leaves the country mechanically, we decided we would provide a 3rd party warranty for him to deal with directly. When the warranty company realized that the vehicle was being exported, they declined the coverage. There is simply no way to warranty a vehicle once it leaves the country. What is baffling, Mr. ********* has bought vehicles here before according to what he had told us. So, there was no way to warranty his vehicle for that amount of time once it leaves the country. Mr. ********* simply did not want to comprehend we could not do that. The vehicle was taken out of the active inventory since the moment he committed to it. *********** lost out on other potential sales for doing this, we don't see a full refund reasonable for something that seems like just buyer's remorse. Mr. ********* claims to have bought cars in the states for export before, he should know there is no possible way of getting warranties for this type of transactions.Customer Answer

I am rejecting this response because:As a potential customer , funds wired in good faith and were contingent on my satisfaction of a potential customer demands which I clearly articulated to *** (of which I have emails and recorded telephone conversations) . Furthermore , *** (sales agent) who represented your company advised me that a warranty was not an option after i reviewed the proposed bill of sale which I did not sign and hence requested return of funds. After speaking with the *** during this time, I purchased another vehicle elsewhere which offered a warranty per **** dealership locally under 60k miles .
I didnt take possession nor sign any documents for this purchase and Im trying to work with the dealer to return my funds and have been very patient .I request full return of funds as per my numerous conversations with this unscrupulous dealer.
I am in my right to do so and am demanding a return within 5 business days .

My girlfriend and I were sold a lemon car twice. I bought two cars that were involved in accidents which the salesman never told us. First I bought a Cadillac Escalade from this company which had many issues, which included rack and pinion, cv axle control, arm valve, cover gasket, horrible tires, etc. I returned the car 3 days after purchasing it and had to fight with the manager to give me another car, to the point where one of his sales man ********************* yelled at my girlfriend and I in front of the employees and customers, he still works there, not surprised. We put $*000 down on the Escalade and was asked to put $1000 more to get another vehicle Kia ********** car was shaking while I was driving, I told the mechanic there to look at it, he said he would and I never received feedback from them. After i purchased the **** * days after i received a call from the bank Ride on finance company which is a company the manager owns as well. (Clearly they are scammers and they work with the bank to steal peoples money and steal cars back). When the bank called they accused us of making a straw purchase because the car was parked at her house. I never stated that the car was for her i said i let her use the car to take our son to the park and beach. They made it seem like we made a straw purchase and came and repoed the car without our knowledge. I tried to get our stuff back from their tow guy, I made an appointment with him to get our stuff, come to find out the dealership had our stuff. They had my sons car seat and the mats that she purchased on display in the lot ready for sale. These scammers refuse to give me my $500 back and my girlfriend $*500 back, selfish people. The deal shouldve been made the same day. Why send me away with a car that was not approved. I cannot get calls days later saying the deal isnt approved and that the car has to be parked at my address while its being approved. My girlfriend also filed a report. In total we lost $3000. This is a scam.Business Response

Mr. **** ******* filed this complaint claiming he was sold a lemon, but the complaint has no bearing since his car was repossessed for the following reasons. Mr. ******* originally came in for a 2011 ******** Escalade with 244 thousand miles which we had priced for $4990. We offered to do a buy her pay here with $2000 down and he drove off without a problem. This was once again a 2011 Escalade with 244 thousand miles. He drove back to ***************** and came back 2 days later claiming the car had a ton of problems. We decided we would help him and switched out of that vehicle into a 2019 Kia ****** with only 59 thousand miles. The car had a few cosmetic issues, but we agreed to have him come back to have them fixed. This vehicle was going to be financed with ***************************** and required a total down payment of $3000 which he agreed to. As any approval for financing, it comes with stipulations. One of the stipulations for this loan was a GPS tracking device from the lender. After all the verifications were completed, the only thing the lender would not check off, was the location where the vehicle would sleep. The vehicle never slept at the customer's house. The reason for that was that Mr. ******* was doing a straw purchase for the mother of his daughter. When the lender questioned him about the location where the vehicle slept, Mr. ******* would **** out at them telling them it was none of their business where the car slept. All they should be worried about was that the car was getting paid. After weeks of going back and forth with Mr. ******** he lost his financing and stopped answering all our calls. At that point we decided we needed to pick up our vehicle. We did exactly that. Mr. ******* called and threatened to hurt employees at the dealer and we were forced to cut off all communication with him. He was never sold a lemon. He was never scammed. As you can see, the story is completely different.Initial Complaint

The car wasnt even fixed up properly after, they used wall filler foam to hold a component of the car together. THIS IS AN EXACT DUPLICATE OF THE COMPLAINT FILED ON THIS SAME DATE BY **** *******. THE DIFFERENCE IS, THIS COMPLAINT IS BEING FILED BY THE MOTHER OF HIS DAUGHTER. Mr. **** ******* filed this complaint claiming he was sold a lemon, but

On December 21, 2023, I discussed purchasing a 2017 Summit White ****** via text message with ************************* who is listed as the Sales Manager. I expressed interest in purchasing the vehicle, but I didn't want them to sell it out from under me before I could travel down and make the transaction in person. ******* said I would need to provide him a deposit of $1k for him to hold it and we made arraignments for me to pay him.Note: No mention was made that this was a non-refundable deposit.Later that day I received a phone call from ***** stating that the car needed a transmission replacement. He offered to refund my money and cancel the sale. Because I was still interested in purchasing the vehicle, I authorized him to hang onto the deposit so that the car would still be available to me when fixed. He agreed. On January 2, ****, I texted ************************* requesting my deposit back because I was displeased with this poor communication regarding the repair time of the vehicle and was cancelling my efforts to purchase the car. No response.I have called the dealership multiple times trying to get my deposit back to no avail. On multiple times I was told by someone she would call me back and never got a returned call. Finally, on January 11, ****, I got a call from a guy named ***** (last name never provided) to let me know the vehicle was ready. I explained my ordeal and that didn't want the car only my deposit back. He told me that deposits were non-refundable, but I could obtain one via *************************. As I explained to *****, ************************* was acting as an agent of the dealership and therefore the dealership was responsible for returning my deposit. He held firm that I would need to have ******* provide that transaction.Nowhere on any of the documents that were provided and/or signed is the anything that states my deposit is non-refundable. Neither was I told so by *************************. Had this happened I would've never provided a deposit.Initial Complaint

October 20th, 2023 made a $1000.00 deposit on a 2013 **** explorer limited & was promised repairs that has yet to be fixed. Paid another $1,500.00 with cash/card the following Monday + traded in my 2014 ******* sonata for $1,500.00 which brings me to a $4k down payment. Received the car on October 25th, 2023. No repairs were made as promised & nothing was done to the car. They promised again that they will be dealt with & to send images of what needed to be done again. the company misled me from jump & added a warranty fee of a little over $1,400.00 without my knowledge and sent everything to the bank to be financed after I said I wanted to pay cash in **************************************************************************************** a warranty fee. the very night of receiving the car the engine lights, brake lights, & service trac lights came on and I sent a message to alert them. They said bring it back theyll fix & check it. They never did, so now its been 3 weeks they have been giving me the run around with getting my car fixed as it is shaking, jerking, making loud noises & near inoperable, even with a warranty. They have been extremely careless during this process, wasted heaps of my time, & gave false promises and information. today they ran me down for another $1,000.00 payment without returning my calls or addressing concerns about resolving the cars issue. November 15th, 2023 I went there & asked to cancel the ************ will fix the car out of pocket instead.. they gave me more c*** I left with them saying that they will give me a call by 4pm today to confirm the cancelation of the warranty but no call. They even stopped answering the phone. Its been a long 4 weeks of false information, promises & I feel extremely taken advantage of & at a loss. I am owed over $1,600.00 in refunds for the warranty & for being overcharged $200.00 + to transfer my registration. They charged me $400 according to contract that I will have to pay.Initial Complaint
