I paid this company $2522.18 on June 15, 2022 by check. They did not reserve enough space in their truck, despite my having sent them an inventory list. They now want more money and refuse to refund my deposit. There are countless reviews on ******* the BBB, and ******** regarding their scam tactics. They are absolute frauds. Many people do not get their belongings, or their stuff is held hostage while they demand more money. We tried to cancel but they refused to refund the money. The bank cant do anything because it was a check. Please help. I am 67 years old. I filed a complaint with the AGs office, and many other people have done so as well. They seem to target older people. There is a ******** group dedicated to their victims. I just want my $2,500 back so I can move across the country as I planned. I am devastated. Please help me however you can.Initial Complaint

Scheduled a move thru Homesafe Transit, a veteran owned business. My move has been post posted and I contacted them. They wanted me to place it on hold which I do not have a new move date. My move change is because of military change and out of my control. The business refused to acknowledge this and wanted to charge me $500 on top of my $580 deposit. I understand if this was solely my choice to cancel or change but this is not. The service rep was rude, told me I lost my money and hung up. I called back and spoke with another individual who was also rude and would not honor a refund.Initial Complaint

On June 28after speaking with a rep from this company I made what I believed to be a sound decision to use Homesafe Transit to move my household goods from Tn to ** for $4000. That is the amount that I was given after a lengthy discussion of my household contents which were in storage. I also was told to make a down payment of ******* which I did . The movers were suppose to be there on July 7, or 8 . Another person from Homesafe called me on the evening of the 6 of July after I arrived in ********* informing me that I had too much household goods and that it would cost me $17,000 ! I told him we had an agreement and that price was not going to happen. At the mention of the dollar amount , my friend overheard how much it was and she said something out loud such as Oh my word to which *************************** called her a third wheel and told her to be quiet! I was furious! On July 8 the day I was due to move the company hired to pick up my things showed up at Noon , and was told by Homesafe to only load 700 square feet . Yet the movers boss told them No either a full truck or no truck ! They offered me a private deal of 7-8 thousand dollars to move me , when I said no to them - they left ! Now its after 1 pm on Friday and I am stranded with no movers and my things in storage . I had to go to UHaul , rent a private truck and pay for a partial move . I want my deposit of **** .73 back from Homesafe Transit ! This company is nothin more than a Bait and Switch ! Thank you for your help *******************Initial Complaint

On June 1st I googled moving companies to get a quote from different companies. I entered my information (date of pickup and date of delivery). I received several quotes. I decided to go with Homesafe Transit, LLC because they reached out via email and text. They gave me a quote for approximately $3000 for approximately 380 cubic square feet. I received a call on the day of pickup to reassess the number of boxes to be moved and revised the number to 700 cubic square feet and requested a $1500 deposit which was paid at that time. ****************** arrived and loaded my Items on a Uhaul on Wednesday 6/22. After loading they again upcharged me to $4800 for **************** feet to guarantee delivery. I asked several times for an itemized receipt that was never received. Ever since the payment was provided on 6/22, I have not been able to get an update via text, email or phone. We have been trying contact them to notify them of a change in the address of delivery but we are not able to reach them despite calls, texts and emails. Now I am unaware of the location of my items and am unable to reach the Movers. I believe I have been scammed.Homesafe Transit Reference Number: ******* I would like to be reimbursed or have my items delivered.Initial Complaint

On January 27, 2022 I spoke with ******** at Homesafe Transit about a move from ****** to *********. She quoted me a price of $2400 (approx) and I had to put a deposit of $800 (approx) for me to book rates before the busy season. I was quoted for a 1 bedroom apartment (including TV, couch, bed, desk, chairs, boxes etc.) Because I still didn't even know the date yet, we put in a random day, for mid-August. However I was worried because I still wasn't sure at this point in time how much stuff I wanted to take to *********, versus selling my things and buying there. ******** reassured me that the price would go down based on me needing less space. Fast forward to 6/23/22, I called Homesafe Transit to let them know that I would be needing less space in the truck. Could I get a new quote for 10 boxes. ****** proceeds to tell me that the government regulation on moving sizes increased the minimum from 300 cubic feet, to 350 cubic feet which means that regardless of how much I want to decrease (they originally quoted 363 cubic feet according to ******), they I still have to pay for the minimum 350 square feet. My concern is not the 350 square feet minimum. My concern is that had I known this upfront, I would have never signed up for their services. I was told that my cost would decrease based on the size of the load - and wasn't given any indication that I was already near their minimum, or that there was a minimum to begin with. I spoke with ****** who reiterated that I'm past the refund limit of 48 hours, and said the "sales person is not required to tell you everything about moving." In my opinion, that was a pretty big thing to leave out of the discussion, especially in the context of our conversation where I had mentioned the potential of downsizing. I am looking for a refund of the deposit, so I can cancel with Homesafe Transit and find a more reliable company to work with. Withholding information is a dishonest practice, and I was taken advantage of.Initial Complaint

I was quoted $4200 to move my things from ********* ** to ********** **. The movers were to pick up on 3/17/22. I was told a person would call to confirm pick up date within two days of pick up. ******* called and said that quote was inaccurate and instead of using a quarter of a truck, I would need a half truck, so it would cost $7900. I told him I don't want to pay that much, I will call back with a revised list and remove some items. They would not take my call for the two days leading up to the pick up. The people just said, No Worries! You will only be charged for what you take." When the movers arrived, they demanded that I sign the paper and initial the boxes checked (minimal 60% coverage on damaged items) for $9700!!!!! I couldn't believe it! The price went up a second time! I had already paid $4000 deposit and if I refused the pick up, I would forfeit my $4000! I asked Mo to measure how much of the truck I would be using, and I could take less things, but he would not measure. Mo, the mover, said if I didn't pay the higher price, him and his guys would be working for free. I tried to reach someone by phone the whole time his guys were plastic wrapping things. No one would pick up the phone. Come to find out later (after so many things were damaged), they were supposed to use moving blankets. They damaged most of the items and many other items were missing. Visually, I could see my things only took up just over 1 **** of 10 marks in the enormous truck, so it definitely wasn't a half truck. But they had ordered the big truck and wanted to pass the cost on to me. When things arrived, the wrapping was shredded and boxes were broken. They offered to settle with $225. They denied the overcharge because they said I signed it. They didn't provide a **** of lading at delivery, my son wrote on a paper the missing items. Only get 1 chance to make a claim, no second chance to provide additional info or discuss. Can you please help? Thank You!Initial Complaint

On May 6 I booked with the moving broker, Homesafe Transit, to organize the move of the contents of a small storage locker in ****************, ** to ********** **. I worried about the integrity of the company and canceled on May 7 within the 48-hour grace ****** in which cancelation carried no penalty. However, the company still deducted their payment of $793 from my bank account on May 9. I have called and emailed them several times, and they have taken no action to refund my money.Initial Complaint

Vendor engaged in misleading and deceptive practices when I attempted to cancel the long-distance move (estimate *******) to be scheduled for 5/11 or 5/12. On 4/28 I modified my inventory for the move estimate & was routinely told that this could be adjusted once a final inventory was determined by me. I was walked through specific points of the contract and told a deposit of 1/3 ($875) was needed to hold the date. During the authentication portion of the call I advised I wished to cancel & was transferred to my sales rep who insisted that the refund would take two months to refund. When I confirmed I still wanted to cancel he stated he would have someone contact me. I followed up and he again restated that billing would contact me with the confirmation of the cancelation. I followed up on 5/3 & was told they switched vendors & would reprocess & to allow ***** business days. I received a text /5/9 to confirm the final **************** stated there was no cancellation in the system. I called again and spoke to ******* that told me there was no cancellation in the system & to email her so that it could be completed. No one has followed up & I continue to be given different information by everyone in the company. The business has not attempted to resolve other than telling me that it was being refunded on several occasions then ignoring all further communication attempts I've made.Initial Complaint

The Date of the original quote for moving services was May 18th, when I paid an initial deposit of $2049.49 by my CC ending in x9625.The original estimate for the total cost of the move from ******* to ****** was $5,070.69 (of which I paid a deposit of $2049.49). I was originally told by ****************************** Customer Rep, that the quote wouldn't increase unless our belongings substantially increased. She originally told me someone would contact me from ***************** 3-5 days before my move date of (either) June 17 or June 18 (I was flexible in order to receive better pricing). She said that QA would get a more accurate quote based on the updated box/inventory 3-5 days before the move. I had reached out numerous times to get updates from ******** and ****** at HomeSafe Transit, and they did not respond until I sent numerous emails and made numerous phone calls (amounts/times can be provided). Then, when I finally spoke with a new Customer **** **************************** the updated amount (after increasing our box/inventory count) was $8789.46. Now, With such a substantial increase I should have canceled the movers at that moment, but I thought, no, I'll pay the extra money because I have to move this weekend for work in ******. I was told by ***************** on 06.16.22 that because the rate increased I'd have to pay an ACH payment of $1500 to cover the increased deposit, which I did (and have since, as of today, place a stop-payment on that ACH payment. When the movers finally arrived (which was earlier than quoted, not giving me a 24-hour notice), the mover quoted me a new quote of $19,700.00. I made several attempts to call Homesafe Transit at 2:29 pm, 2:35 pm, 2:43 pm, 3:41 pm 3:45 pm to receive an explanation why the quote was more than double what was quoted yesterday on June 16th. I was told numerous times someone would look into it and call me back. I have since canceled my move with Homesafe Transit because no one will call me back to resolve the issue.Initial Complaint
