DO NOT RECOMMEND On Thursday, July 6, *********************; owner, came to inspect my house that I am selling, he found rotten siding, instead of pointing it out, he ripped pieces out of my siding all around the house. He has now damaged my house I asked for them to fix it or pay for damages. I understand I am selling the house, but it's STILL MY HOME until papers are signed. It now could cost me a sale because of him ripping a part my house. Then tried saying it fell off when they "touch it", witch didn't happen when my realtor was there and we just painted and nothing fell off then, and there not own up to what they have done is unbelievable and unprofessional.

Hello, we have spoken extensively about this with ******. To give more backstory, ****** is selling her home and a potential buyer hired our company to inspect and uncover any issues that *** be a potential issue in her home. ****** was never our client. Our inspector, and owner of the company, noticed a discontinued siding called Masonite, that is not repairable and an issue because upon touch, it crumbles. ****** noticed that some small areas were missing after the inspection and came to us demanding we fix it or replace it (our inspector must touch areas of the home to inspect it, and since it is Masonite, it crumbled. He had to check various areas to verify the entire area was Masonite, hence the few areas of 1-2 inches opened). She then proceeded to tell us that she just recently (the week before the inspection) painted over the damage, which was in effort to conceal a major defect in the home she is selling. This is not only illegal on her part, but her realtors part by concealing a defect where there is a contract expected to be in place. Also, she is relying on her realtors word, who appeared to open the door for the inspection, left for an hour, and came back in the last 5/10 minutes to lock up. ****** was not present at the inspection and the realtor was not present for ANY of the exterior siding inspection. We have been in business for over 35 years and have never gone into an inspection trying to ruin a deal, but we also have to do out due diligence in representing our client, the buyer, when there is a clear and obvious defect. I apologized to ****** because she is upset she must fix the defective siding before selling her home, but we cannot hide anything from a buyer and now that they know about this siding, they would not be satisfied by painting over it or repairing it as ****** wants us to do. We recommend to find a specialist in this type of siding to repair it properly, or to disclose this defect for her next potential buyer. This was not okay for ****** and she is retaliating by writing negative reviews, where it is now our responsibility to report both ****** and her realtor for concealing this defect.

I am rejecting this response because:

I can honestly say that the company; Big Dog has not spoken to me extensively like they said they have done, they are covering there trails of there unprofessional behavior. I am selling my home as you saw from my complaint, I understand the inspection process. Inspectors are not suppose to go around damaging the home, they point out issues to the people present as well take photos of the issues, but not make chucks out of the house; not small holes as they are insinuating. I have spoke with multiple professionals and they have all told me that *** was in the wrong of making these chucks out of the siding. I can insure you that the pieces didn't crumble, because we pressure washed and touched up a few spots (not covering up anything), since I know it would be illegal if there was anything showing a Masonite issue, and nothing crumbled when we did this a week or two before we put the house on the market. The inspector; *** that they claim has 40 years experience; should have even know that the sprinklers at the house were in working order if he was inspecting the house correctly and conscientious.

I emailed Big Dog when I saw they Big chucks of siding missing and asked to fix the issue or to help with repairs, since there was no initial damage on the home, the company decided to keep email me saying *** never touched the spots and then made a comment that *** touched it and it fell apart, as you can see the stories have changed, because my realtor knew it wasn't there and then it was while *** was at the house. My realtor couldn't stand ***'s behavior nor his attitude when he showed up at the house, which as I now see in the reviews about the company that sees to be normal. I only wrote a review that is truthful, I only was trying to give they company the benefit of the doubt that they would do they right thing.

    Sincerely,

I truly am not sure how we can come to an amicable point. This customer has come to us requesting that we paint over spots of a defect in her home. We cannnot consciously do this, because it is concealing a larger issue for other buyers. This individual never hired us, and frankly, doesnt even address our company properly. I am not aware of a Big Dog, our company name is Bad Dog. I apologize they are unhappy, but we are truly at a loss as to what would make them happy other than something that could be considered unethical by our governining boards.  At this point they have posted many negative reviews, spoken negatively about us to various individuals, all while we are trying to do honest work as small business owners.
