I booked a suite at the Opal Grand in Delray Beach for 4 nights, from April 11-15. When we checked in we could hear constant drilling/hammering that was so ridiculously loud we just dropped our bags and went for a walk, despite the awful weather, assuming the nuisance was temporary. However, just in case, i did record the noise on my phone. When we returned it was quiet and we ALMOST had an undisturbed night until we were woken up by the same racket at 8-something the next morning. I immediately went downstairs and spoke to a woman at the front desk, explained the issue, let her listen to the recording of what we were dealing with, and left her my number so a manager could call to resolve the issue. I would have just waited upstairs, but the room was uninhabitable. Several hours later, after several more trips to the front desk, I get a text from the hotel saying no manager will speak to me but they can find me a different room. The fact that no adult was willing to speak to me after they sold me a suite at full price in a part of the hotel that was under construction is absurd and unacceptable, so i went downstairs again. This time I spoke to ****** **********, who told me again no manager was available but she would find a bellman to show me the new room. I was willing to try, but we checked out that night and I was forced to book a different hotel for the rest of our trip The Opal still refuses to return my $2,888 so I started doing some research, and it turns out ****** ********** herself is a manager! The fact that the manager lied directly to a customer in order to pretend she couldnt issue a refund sounds awfully close to fraud. I recorded the noise in the room, and have records of texts documenting the managers lying, and multiple harrassing texts they sent after I checked out.
