Website showed current stock of ****. I texted to verify stock, using the phone number they provided and was told, "Yes, they are in stock and you should see them as "in stock" on our website". I placed the order for next day delivery. The next day, I received an email, that stated, they had none in stock and would need to wait at least a week for a new shipment to arrive before my order could be fulfilled. Be careful when ordering from them...what they tell you via text may not be true.Big Apple Pet Supply Inc Response

What this person indicates is not quite truthful. At the time he texted us we had them in-stock and by the time he placed the order we ran out of stock of the frogs. Note that *************************** was continually rude and threatening because the frogs were for his daughter's birthday and he tried to order them the day before her birthday. His frustration for literally waiting until the final hour before shipping cutoff is not our fault, it is his. We ship live reptiles, they are not a piece of plastic made on an assembly line. We do not have a never ending supply of live animals. This review of his is unjustified and mean spirited.Review from Jeanelle H

We consistently and diligently texted this customer back that she did not place any order with us. She refused to listen even though we asked her to simply contact her bank. Our system shows clearly that she did create an account but never actually placed the order. She is obviously incorrect and a very confused individual. From our back end of our website...

Ordered a baby yellow rat snake that the website says is captive bred. The snake we received looks to be a juvenile and has to have been wild caught. It musks and bites the second you try to get near it. We own several animals and reptiles that my 2 year old can hold and be around. This is one that she can't get near. Customer ordered an EVERGLADES snake and NOT a yellow rat snake on order ***** several weeks ago and it is 100% a CB animal bred in *******. This is nothing short or libel and we will hold the customer responsible for such a review. They have the best selections of reptiles, spiders, snakes and more and I recently bought some spiders from them today I got them and one decided it was going to run off and stuff so I freaked out and screamed and it scared it again but the other 2 was so docile that I wasnt scared to touch them it is a full 1ooooooooooooooo rating plus double I cant say that much big apple herp does a really good job thanks big apple herpReview from Justin L

I ordered an Asian water monitor from them. The package was delayed by ***** in transport but was delivered in two days. When I opened the box the one tiny heat pad was at very top in an envelope with multiple newspapers over lizard. The lizard was in bad shape with its whole body shrunk in and dead. We assume this is ******************* of ******** ** who ordered an Asian Water Monitor on 12/7. Customer knowingly initialed that there are no live animal guarantees on the animal he was ordering. Our system does not allow you to add it to the cart without signing the agreement. The customer's package was unfortunately delayed for two days and during the time of the week it was shipped we were not providing any guarantees at all due to package volume and ***** delays which were all detailed and explained on our website. Knowing all this the customer ordered and claims that TWO DAYS IN A BOX would not effect the most delicate of all the animals we ship but this is not factual, it is the opposite of factual. The animal was 100% perfect and healthy when we sent it and we are sorry that it didn't arrive on time but we are very clear about all the possibilities about delays during the holiday season with *****.Review from Madison V

Company is dishonest and is selling sick animals. I bought a bearded dragon from them around 8 months ago, since the moment I got him he was sick. They chalked it up him being stressed from the delivery. I continued to message them for a couple weeks and was told I was doing eveyrhing right. He never got better, and a month later he had his first vet appointment. Many appointments later he continued to suffer through parasites eventually we got him tested for ADV. He tested positive and unfortunately succumbed to it last week. He was barely a year old.Big Apple Pet Supply Inc Response

Customer had the bearded dragon for 8 months and never forwarded any reports from a vet that it tested positive for ADV and had pin worms. This is highly doubtful considering the animal was CB, was in our CB facility and not a single other report came in throughout 2023 that any of the thousands of dragons we sold had ADV. 8 Months is a long time to have a dragon and then consider that the source was the reason that it didn't make it. We assert that our dragons are extremely healthy and this particular one was a higher end CB fancy colored dragon. We are sorry to hear about it but at the same time we never had any contact from the customer in the last 6 months.Review from Marina M

Worst place ever! Ordered a gold dust day gecko. It had a huge bruise on its back,opens it's mouth every 20 seconds or so to gasp for air because of some respiratory issue. Extremely skinny, and after today I'm almost positive it's blind. It won't turn its head to look at anything, will not move unless touched and has horrible mouth rot. Contacted big apple they said my pictures are blurry and to just keep it hydrated and that I didn't send a picture of the animal on the box it came in. I feel horrible for the animal and now I'm a special needs lizard owner ***. Thanks for nothing big apple!Big Apple Pet Supply Inc Response

We asked the customer to send photos of the animal which he did but were so blurry behind a screen that we couldn't make anything out. We sent dozens and dozens of these geckos during the whole month of July from the same batch as ********* and no issues. However, we did ask him to text proper clear photos of the animal on top of the original ***** box next to the ***** label per our website policy and never received any photos. To date, we never received those photos. It should be noted that we have thousands of 5 star reviews on our website complete with customer photos and have been in business since **** (30 years!). We are not in the business of sending sick animals, this is how we have remained an integral part of the industry over 3 decades.
