My husband and I planned and paid in full out 4/4/2020 wedding with Steve G***** last Paradise Beach Weddings. Due to the pandemic we did need to cancel our 4/4/2020 wedding. We did not want to hurt his business so my husband and I spoke to Steve in moving our date to 3/20/2021 as a vow renewal, which Steve was grateful for. Come 10/2020 I informed Steve we did need to cancel the 3/20/2021 renewal and requested a refund from him. In the Spring of 2021 I still did not hear from Steve in regards to a refund so I send another email, him stating that he would add us to the refund list. From that time only 3 payments have been made leaving a remaining bal. He informed me that I would receive my last pymt by Aug 2021, in which he still has not sent. Steve did respond to my reviews of the company and his last email said "I will continue to make payments. Leave it at that." That was his last communication on 11/3/2021. I have sent multiple emails with still no response or payments made. As per our contract we gave him ample time to cancel our event. There is a lack of communication & what communication we do have has been unpleasant and unprofessional on Steve G*****'s side.

2 years ago, we booked a wedding event with Paradise Beach Weddings. Due to COVID and the pandemic shut down, we were forced to cancel the event as the venues were mandated to shut down. Due to this, the owner of Paradise Beach Weddings, Steve, agreed to refund our entire spending since the cancellation was made due to circumstances out of our control and was not desired. Till this date, I been trying to collect the total sum of almost $3,400 dollars given to Paradise Beach Weddings for an event to conducted. Steve have made some payments to us, reducing the amount owe to us to $600 dollars and stated he would be sending the last $600 two weeks ago. Multiple email have seen sent to Steve as he stated our money would be completely refunded by a certain day and now, Paradise Beach Wedding is not responding to our emails or telephone calls. Paradise Beach Weddings customer service and care for the customers who supported his business is poor and the professionalism from the staff is non existent. Not to mention, a letter received from Steve stating he would be keeping almost $400 from us as a "planning fee". A few he stated he was not going to charge, not to mention our event was not fully planned or executed by Paradise Beach Weddings. Paradise Beach Weddings statements, in reference to the refund of our money, are promising but never fulfilled. And when contacted to get an update, they stop responding to our emails and calls. Steve, in one email received from him last year, even threatened to shut down his business and filed for bankruptcy so he didn't have to pay the amount owe to us for the past 2 years. As a resolution, we would like Paradise Beach Weddings to contact me and to pay out the final amount owe to us.

      Business response

      04/21/2022

Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2022/04/05) */ I have paid this client's refund in full. I made payment is three checks since July 2020. Final payment was made before this complaint was filed. I did deduct $200 from their original payment for the time we spent planning this wedding, before Covid changed their plans. The client was given the option to reschedule and use all of their paid funds for a future date, but they opted not to do that and requested a refund. I have cooperated every step of the way, and they have been refunded. It makes no sense to try and damage our reputation when I have fulfilled my end, and have had to do this with more than 20 clients at once. It may not have been in their desired timeline, but I have kept my contacted clause and repaid. I have asked this client to retract this complaint fully. Consumer Response /* (2000, 7, 2022/04/08) */ (The consumer indicated he/she ACCEPTED the response from the business.) Paradise Beach weddings stated they would issue the last owed amount by a certain date. After giving them 2 extra weeks past the time stated by them, multiple e-mails were sent out without a response. Paradise Beach Wedding contacted us on 3/30/2022, stating the final amount was going to be refunded, which is the day after this complain was filed. Since then, they have been sending us emails, because of this complain, making their communication with us prompt , something we were never able to have with Paradise Beach Weddings. The final refund was received on 4/5/2022 whish is after the date this complaint was filed. The amount owe to us has been paid in full as today's date. No other amount is owed to us. Other consumers and Paradise Beach Weddings should know this: Our wedding was cancelled due the COVID shut down giving us no options but to get a refund not knowing when we would be able to re-scheduled. With this been said, all other vendors and venues refunded our money, due to circumstances out of our control and the shut-down mandate, in no time and within a reasonable time. I took Paradise Beach Weddings two years to refund our total amount after numerous emails from our part and understanding due to the national events. Some of these emails were not replied by Paradise Beach Weddings and some, were replied with answers not worthy of rating this business of having great customer service. Some of their answers included them telling us they could close the business, file for bankruptcy, and don't refund our money at all. All of these emails, with time stamps, are available if needed. In their contract with us, there were no clauses stating we had to re-scheduled our wedding and no refunds were going to be granted due to a government shut down. Reasonable people can only understand why we ask for a refund not knowing when we were going to be able to have it and us having family and friends travelling from other parts of the nation. Paradise Beach wedding verbally stated this "planning fee" was not going to be deducted, perhaps it is our fault for not having that agreement in writing. To our surprise, when the first part of the refund check arrived, two years ago, a letter was attached stating the planning fee was deducted. Our initial impression of Paradise Beach Weddings were great but those impressions quickly changed after it was time for Paradise Beach Weddings to refund us completely changing their approach, communication, and service to us. According to Paradise Beach Weddings, 2 years was a reasonable time for a refund. We cannot agree with this as every other venue and vendor provided us full refunds within 2 weeks. As our issue is now resolved, other customers should be aware of our experience, given the current unpredictable atmosphere, and should be aware of businesses providing this type of customer service.

Paid in full for a beach wedding set up on 11/13/21. Unfortunately, our order was "lost" causing a domino effect of issues with set up since we were dealing with high tide. At first, owner was responsive, apologizing and offering a $300 refund. On 11/16/21, via email (so that we have written documentation from business) we agreed to the refund being issued as a check being mailed rather than credit to our credit card which would save the business the 3% transaction fee. Since then, numerous follow up attempts via phone and email have been ignored.

My husband and I originally scheduled our destination wedding for 4/20/2020 with Paradise Beach Weddings, but the pandemic had other plans. We paid Steve for the wedding in full by end of 1/2020. We even continued to add services to the day & paid each one there after. Steve was a pleasure to work with originally in the planning. Due to the pandemic we had to cancel our wedding, but did not want to hurt his business so we pushed to a one year vow renewal in 3/2021. Due to circumstances we had to officially cancel our contract in 10/2020 (giving 5mnth notice). At that time Steve stated he put us on the refund list but w/Covid-19 business was slow-we understood. I am now here 1 year later and still only received 2 partial payments; $400 each/totally $800 out of the $1800 we are owed.
