On 20 October 2022, I signed a contract with owner of Top Dog Painting (*****) to paint the exterior of my home, stone work and complete cedar tongue and groove ceilings on my front entry and back lanai. The project started approx. 14 November 2022 - 21 January 2023.I've called, sent text and emailed ***** on the following dates regarding the issue I have with the tongue and groove on my back lanai to solve amicably. However, ***** has chosen not to respond to date 3 Apr, 4 Apr, and 17 April 2023 as I called and left a voicemail.20 Mar sent text with pictures at 10:17 a.m. showing issue with tongue and groove on the back ceiling gap allowing access to things to get into the space. I received no response. I called and spoke to him on 23 March and asked if he received the text/pictures I had sent, he stated he had not surprising as all other communications up to this point, he had received w/no issue. I then proceeded to send him the pictures while on the phone w/him and he stated, the gap between the tongue and groove trim and wall he was informed by his *************************** of the issue. He further went on to say to as we discussed possible resolution caulking would not work and I agreed as I looked at the wall alignment and the gap. When I asked what the cost would be he to correct, he stated it would cost me $1k for man hours, materials as it would be 2 day trip etc... I stated I would be in contact with him as I had projects going on. On 3 Apr, I txt/emailed **** stating that I had time to reflect on our conversation on 23 Mar/that he stated that ****** informed him of the issue YET he nor ****** informed me thus not allowing me to make an informed decision on how I would like to proceed. Had I been informed while they were here on the job my cost would not be $1k as the manpower cost etc...was in the price I paid for the ceilings to be done. Additionally, I would like to come to a reasonable resolution as the workmanship isn't quality nor good business.

Top Dog? More like top scammer! I hired them to paint our house and repair some stucco cracks. They sprayed my roof white and put paint remover on my shingles to try to remove it which in turn messed up my shingles even more. I had to go back and paint large sections due to being able to still see the previous color. It hasnt even been a year and the cracks they repaired are back! Did I pay them the full amount for the work they did? NO because he destroyed *******. The owner is an absolute piece of work. He does not care if the work is done properly and will not care if his workers destroy roofs or property. They also killed large sections of my yard.
