Sold me a rebuilt vehicle that was not rebuilt. Vehicle has a broken front axle which is unsafe to drive on road. ****** refuses to address and refuses to take back death trap vehicle and refund my money

      Business Response

      Date: 04/13/2023

This vehicle was in a safe driving condition when sold as is. After purchasing this vehicle, as an already rebuilt and inspected rebuilt title,  I did some reconditioning on it by repairing the ** and fixing an oil leak with the oil filter housing. Both myself and *********** drove this car and it drove great with no issues. The car was sold as is and also at a great price. Upon the customer receiving the vehicle, he called me to inform me of frame damage and was upset saying all kinds of things to me. The customer also stated it was missing a drive shaft which is impossible. I am sorry he is upset with his purchase of a rebuilt tile l, knowingly, not fixed to his standards but it was inspected by state and deemed safe for the road, otherwise there would not be a rebuilt title issued by State.

Hello, I purchased a used 2013 Tahoe from this establishment last month that developed a slight issue while on a road test. By the time I got the vehicle home, the engine had a bad knock as well as a miss. The issue has been diagnosed as an internal engine malfunction and will require the engine to be replaced. I was told by ***** (owner?) that he would assist with the repair cost (used engine estimated at *******) for this issue once my trade in was sold. I have now made 3 phone calls and left 2 messages with no response whatsoever. I feel that being a dealer, They should be somewhat if not totally responsible for the product they market and sell to the public as well as stand behind the promises that are made. It is my full intent to put them on "blast" everywhere online that is possible if the promise that I was made is not fulfilled. I am reaching out to the BBB in hopes that we can come to a reasonable agreement before I tell of this issue online as many places as I can find. PLEASE HELP!!

Lets start off with a little more detail on this deal. Upon test driving the car, you noticed an issue when the check engine light came on and it had a misfire, taking it on 95 to ***** and back.   You told my salesman ***** that you were not concerned with that so much because you just rebuilt the same 5.3l engine for your son, and that he has the same truck. When you got back, you came inside and we then  spoke about your car and the values on both, both cars were far from perfect. We then discussed your car, the sunroof fabric was inoperable and you had the part in the trunk and we both thought it would only be 3-5 hundred to fix. When I brought it to the shop, he called me after a few hours and told me that he did not want to even attempt to repair it, and that was because someone had already messed with it and it was too much work repairing what they had messed up. I am not saying you knew about this. I then called the only place I thought would repair this (Chrysler Dealership), they said they have no one to repair it and then they referred me to the same place the car was already at. So just that cost 800 dollars to repair alone with a different place in *************. I also fixed a motor mount, which we spoke of and you told me about. However, there was also an issue with the ** that you did not tell me about (300 dollars), and a power steering leak I also repaired that was also not disclosed.  I just arrived back in town this morning and saw this email. I also got your voice mail when you said you were gonna "come on down here" since you assumed I was not answering in the purpose of trying to not speak with you.  This deal was definitely not profitable and we spoke on this when you were in my office negotiating price with me. Later in the evening, you called saying the engine was making more noise and said you would take it mechanic. After that,  You then asked if I was gonna pay for repairs or help with repairs, which my response was I was already in a losing deal and that I would have to assess if and what I could do to help after the sale of your trade in, which also cost me **** to recondition. I never promised anything, and I always offer customers to take the car to a mechanic before purchasing with no obligation to buy. Cars are sold AS-IS and you know that because we spoke about it and you told me how you were in the car business for years.  This is an unfortunate deal and it is also why we offer before purchase inspections with no obligation to purchase, which you chose to do yourself because you know about cars.

I am rejecting this response because: First of all, lets get a couple of things clear... I did not "rebuild" the engine in my sons ***** and did NOT tell you as such! I did make a bunch of repairs to oil leaks and tune up related issues that incorporated help from others. Second of all, BOTH you and your associate inspected the Chrysler and I even remember a comment about the air conditioner working fine and that there were a "couple of dog hairs on the inside" I was fully up front about the sunroof shade not to mention supplying the ****** part!!! and, there were no repair attempts even made between the time I noticed that there was an issue and the time I traded the vehicle (HUGE MISTAKE) with your dealership. The motor mount was also disclosed and the part was included in the deal!! as far as a power steering leak was concerned (power steering on this car was electric) there were absolutlely NO stains on my white concrete driveway to even make me think that there was an issue.. It seems blatently obvious that you have no intention whatsoever of honoring your word/promise to participate in the cost of the engine repair to this vehicle..You claim that you had to spend ******* in reconditioning most of which was known at the time of trade! That is only a fraction of the ******* that I have had to spend on the used engine alone, nevermind the remainder of the parts required to keep the used part warranty in effect. You even shopped for a labor quote for installation from your sources that was 1******... that puts me out of pocket over ******* because I made the mistake of doing business with your dealership...   If I am mistaken, please be sure to let me know before I share of this business interaction everywhere that I can as promised!!
      Sincerely,
