This is an attempt to resolve a billing issue that I believe is in error. Attached are the bills and following is the timeline and explanation.Following eye surgery, I received a bill from ********************** MD PA for services rendered on 11/16 in the amount of $1,960.At the same time, I received a bill from Baptist Health South Florida for services rendered on 11/16 in the amount of $1,954.These appear to be identical charges.I attempted to contact the Office manager, **** at ********************** MD PA, numerous times by phone to no avail. I sent a letter on January 16 and followed up with copies of the two bills to ****. We spoke by phone, and she said she had to investigate further. A week later I received an additional notice from Baptist asking for immediate payment. I phoned **** and asked what I should doand alerted her that Baptist might send it to collection. I asked if this bill was validshould I pay it. She said yes. I told **** was paying it immediately and to please let me know her findings and not just let the duplicate bill go to collections.I note had same surgery within a few weeks of this surgery and the cost was not $1960 X 2 = $3914 (the amount I am being charged) It was half that amount.I have now received the duplicate bill and a notice for possible collection. Please Note: Despite this statement reflecting payment from UMR (my insurance company), UMR said they received no bill from the ********************** or EYE Institute for services on 11/16/23. They did receive a bill from Baptist Health South Florida and that is the bill I settled.I would like to know what the charges are ****** why they are for the same day of service in the same amount I am sharing this with all parties involved and seeking help, hoping to get clarification.
