In early Dec 2023 I had my 1981 British Triumph car brought to Prestige Foreign Car Repair in *************** by AAA from a Repair shop in **********. The first shop did A/C repair but was unable to start the car after completing their work, so they had replaced the fuel pump, but was still unable to start the car. Prestige performed diagnostics and found fuel leaking from fuel filter and going to the engine that they corrected, but the car still did not start. They then decided the Air Flow Meter, (AFM), for the fuel injection had failed. I brought them a new AFM to install. The car still would not start. At this point Prestige asked for a $1,000 deposit because they were at $762 cost out of pocket, which I provided to them on Dec 21, 2023. They performed further diagnostics and found the engine control unit, (ECU), needed to be replaced. I brought them another ECU which they installed. At this point they said the car would run, but they still had a few small requests I had asked them to take care of since they had the car. I sent the failed ********* out to be certified and they were found to be in good operating order. On March 19, 2024, I was able to take the car home. When I came to retrieve car there was a woman behind the desk that refused to answer any questions or allow me to talk to the shop manager about my invoice. She told me to read the invoice, pay the bill, take the car and get off her property and do not return or she would call the police. My complaint is the Itemized invoice that I paid totaled $1,554.62 including taxes, which when I added up after I got home, came to $1,108.61 including taxes. I sent a certified letter requesting a refund of the over payment of $446.01 to be returned to the CC I used to pay Prestige Foreign Car Repair. The letter was sent via **** but was unable to be delivered to the owner of the company. At his point I have overpaid, and I am unable to send them the letter, so the issue has not been resolved.
