This is a matchmaking service. When I purchased this service, I was told that I would get 12 dates in 6 months or if the 6 months was up and I still had matches, they would continue to find me matches. I signed up for services around February 10 2023. As of August 4th 2023 and I had 4 dates. They also said that my dates would be made based on my preferences. The 3 main preferences I gave were the dates location in regards to my location, their job status, and living status (at home with parents was not OK). The first 2 dates didn't meet any of my requirements. Each date lived with their parents and were too far from my location, over an hour away and my max distance was an hour. I expressed my displeasure in these matches and was assured my wants would be taken into account for the next match. Months went by. No match. I expressed my displeasure and wanting a refund. Nothing. At this point I threatened to dispute with my credit card company and they did get back to me and assured me that they are still looking for me and will make sure my next dates meet my requirements. I went on my 4th date in almost 6 months and again, he did not meet my basic requirements as he lived over an hour and 30 min from my location. I emailed again asking to speak with someone higher up in the company and for a refund, and have gotten no response.Almost 2 years into this, September 2024 I have been matched with maybe 7 dates, each one worse than the last. My last date stood me up. November 2024, the recent proposed match was a Hasidic Jewish man. I am Christian and said I would not like to date an overly religious person. I seem to get no where within the company to voice my displeasure. They have failed to provide me with dates that meet the basic requirements they asked me to set when I signed up and that they do not have the pool of potential matches they assured me they had in my area. I am rejecting this response because:My issue is not that we've passed the 6 months I signed up for and are almost 2 years into the process. My issue is that no one from your company listens to what it is I'm looking for and I am forced to decline matches because you've keep matching me with gentleman that are no way suitable for me. You have yet to listen to any of the things I'm looking for and continue sending me matches that are horribly unsuitable. Every time you say I promise not to do that to you again and the next time the same exact thing happens. You are matchmakers are providing the worst customer service I have ever had in my entire life. I am not disputing that you have given me matches and that I am within the time frame of the contract. The consumer has accepted 8 dates, and has declined to meet 4. Her acceptance of the 8 dates indicates she felt they were matches she was excited to meet. We are confused by her statement that we are providing men that are not suitable as this is not the case. She came to the professionals for a reason, you dont reject your personal trainers workout plan because you dont feel it is suitable for you when you provide the goal you want to meet,or you dont reject your tax accountants tax filing because you dont feel it is getting you enough back in a return. She came to the professionals for a reason and our clients that are the most successful trust the process, are open minded and meet the people that *** has in mind for them. I am rejecting this response because:It was clearly started my me that I wanted to date men local to me. I accept dates thinking that your matchmakers are listening to my wants but won't tell me where they are located, so I have to accept the date in order to find out. It is only once I'm on the date that I find out they are an hour plus away from my location which is outside my acceptable area. I also accepted dates assuming that these men didn't live at home with family bc the matchmaker said they didn't. I then go in the date only to find out that that is not true. You're matchmakers don't vet the clients enough waisting my time and money. It works for those Clients that trust the process? Please put me in contact with those clients bc I have only found those who are in the same situation as I am-not being listened to. How dare you say I'm not trusting the process and having an open mind. How can I trust the process and have an open mind when your matchmakers don't listen to what I'm looking for and set me up with unsuitable matches over and over? I am raised ********* and not very religious yet you set me up she a very Jewish man. Please explain to me how we are a match. What makes us match together? You find one tiny thing we match on and call it a good match, completely ignoring all the other glaring reasons we are not a match. Do I expect to get my money back from you? Absolutely not. On 5/1/2024 I paid $3,900 for a 12 month dating contract and was told I would get up to 24 dates and a personal matchmaker. For my initial interview I spoke with someone in the same state as me (**). However, I learned within a week that all matchmakers are based on FL with a 4 hour time difference. I had the most difficult time getting in contact with someone on my match making team. I was matched with 2 people who ultimately did not want to meet me and I was matched with men that were over 90 minutes away from my home. I expressed my concerns and frustration with my matchmaker to no avail. So I disputed the $3900 charge with my credit card company. Additionally, I moved out of the area they provide service to. The business initially refused to provide me with a refund. They refused to accept my documentation. After dealing directly with headquarters they still refused. I wanted a full refund/credit issues to my card they charged. They refused. Ultimately, they offered me a prorated amount $3,900 minus a $500 non-refundable interview fee and charged me $162 for a date I had refused because I already disputed the charge. Ultimately, they sent me a document saying they would send me a check in the mail for $3,237.50 and I couldnt sue them or go through arbitration. This caused all sorts of issues with my credit card company and now, I am responsible for paying the credit card company for a service that was misrepresented to me and forced to sign a document for a partial refund that ultimately is going to the credit card company because they refused to issue a credit directly to my credit card. This company is underhanded, unethical and preys upon women who are hoping to find someone to date and eventually marry. Representatives of this company avoid answering questions, promise things they cannot deliver and do unethical things by avoiding answering questions and burying complaints of unhappy customers. On February 4, 2024, I filed a BBB complaint for It's Just Lunch (IJL) due to the lack of service. The manager, **********, followed up with me and we discussed next steps. He promised that my matchmaker would contact me to schedule meetings to discuss next steps. Unfortunately, things didn't get any better. I had a follow up meeting with him on April 30 where I expressed my concerns with the lack of service and that it was still not meeting my expectations. The challenges included another matchmaker (***), there were no scheduled follow *** to talk with me about how best to move forward, and a date presented me was not professional. He said he would follow up with her and we would meet again in May.I received 3 additional dates since I met with **** E with no contact from ***** other than the standard emails and voicemails, despite that I had asked for conversations with her. Similar to the concerns I raised on April 30 I feel that they are meeting quotas for dates as they always come at the end of the month, vs trying to get to know me and my interests.Unfortunately, I was not able to meet with **** as scheduled on May 29 due to some personal issues. Within this time, **** hasnt made any effort to reach out to check in to see how things are going and if there is anything he can help with even though I specifically asked for us to stay in contact.Despite my ongoing complaints and concerns with IJL, their affiliated company: Luxe reached out to me via ***, to see if I would be willing to invest in their other dating service for over $15K! I told her absolutely not based on the experiences I had with IJL. I couldnt believe that the company would even think about calling me to ask for more money based on my complaints and concerns.The company has not delivered on anything that was promised and is just out for the money based on my experiences. The consumer has been dating with IJL and utilizing the services. She recently declined a date June 27th as she didnt find a photo attractive, without meeting the person or determining if she would, have chemistry with them, she simply declined due to pixels on a page. The consumer has declined a total of 5 dates and attended a total of 4 dates for 9 total serviced dates. We did provide the consumer complimentary date, which leaves her with 4 dates remaining on her membership. *** did contact her to discuss a different membership, as she has expressed she is not happy with the services her current membership provides, however, we were unable to invite her in. We will continue to work on her behalf and service the terms of the membership that she agreed to and executed upon becoming an IJL client. Thank you.

I am rejecting this response because IJL has routinely promised me customized service with efforts to get to know me to help find dates for me. However, as stated in both of my complaints, they have not done that at all. They provide me dates that do not meet my qualifications of a professional individual (what I was promised),physically fit (what I requested and they provided me dates that were overweight), have routinely provided me dates on a schedule (one or two days within the same timeframe every month although they routinely tell me that they are looking all the time and its not a schedule). And to top it off when I requested to have my money back after I filed wirh the bbb the first time, they offered me a service that was 5x the amount - $15k for an upgraded service. Why would i spend more money and invest in them when they havent provided me the level of service at $3k? I was promised professional dates that would meet my expectations and I have had nothing but disappointments in the dates I have gone on, the dates I have said yes to declined, one date never showed up after driving an hour to get to the venue and they provided me a date that lived over 2 hours away (I was told he was willing to drive and wanted to date in *******, but I didnt want to date anyone that far away.) at the root of my complaints it is about the poor quality of the matchmakers, the inability to provide a customized/personalized service as I was promised and then to offer a service at 5x the amount is outrageous!

I am rejecting this response because IJL has not provided the service they outlined in their marketing strategy or their service standards which was my initial complaint and continues to be my complaint as described in the email attached that I sent to **** on Feb. 15, 2024. They falsely advertised the services they would provide and **** verbally shared that he would address my concerns with the team and things would improve - which they have not. And as mentioned earlier, to top it off, despite my complaints about the service level, the lack of follow through, the fact that I paid for something that I was not provided, they reached out several times to get more money from me to offer me another product and "promised" better service. The whole program is a scam and unfortunately I fell for it with their initial marketing ploys and the follow up conversations I have had with ****. The business should be held accountable for their false promises and their poor business practices.

I contacted ******** from IJL and I wanted to make sure they had a good amount of people in ********* because I didn't want to spend the money ($3,900) if they didn't have people. So I talked to her and she assured me they had tons of guys that I was looking for and she even told me she already "found 3 dates for me looking at her computer". I later found out this is a tactic they do to lure people to sign up for the program. I also later found out they're been sued 2 times (class action lawsuit). Makes sense now why they put in their contact you can't file a class action lawsuit against them. So the fact that she lied to me I wasn't very happy about it. Then the match maker... I got assigned to one match maker and she was horrible! I would ask her questions she would never answer my questions. I'm paying a lot of money to a program that says is luxury and to "treat you in a caring, sincere, empathetic, and professional manner.To maintain the highest ethical, personal and professional standards possible and follow all applicable laws" Upset I sent an email to ******** wanted to cancel my membership and she replying saying that I could cancel but there's no refund. So she they assigned me to another match maker and I scheduled a day to talk to her and she never contacted me. I went to my bank and I asked them to dispute the charge. Then ****** send me an email asking me why they got the charge back and wanted to talk to me about. I scheduled a day to talk to her and again just waited for the phone call and nothing. So I sent an email to their meditian team and lady say that there's no refund. I could continue to do the dates (which by the way they "carefully hand-select your matches" haha this is a joke). I do not want to deal with these people anymore and I don't even know why they are still in business. I guess to just scam people and take our money and after they take it treat us badly. Their response is a copy and paste response. It doesnt even relate to the complaint. This is pathetic! I tried to talk to ******** about the issue and all she said was no refund and gave me another matchmaker that never called after giving her a day to call me. So how did she tried to reach me? Then I went to my bank to get a charge back because I never heard from the new matchmaker and ****** contacted me and wanted to talk to me so I gave her the day she could call me and again no phone call. So no did she try to reach me? After not getting a phone call from ****** I called the mediation team and she called me and all she said theres no refund and for me to keep the membership. What kinda of mediation is that? She said someone would contact me from the mediation team and no surprise no phone call. And then I had **** sending me an email and wanted to talk to me and sent him an email and no response at all. All Im getting is people ignoring me. And my point is. I dont want to do business with unprofessionals that work for IJL. This is about how they treat people that spent thousands of dollars and they just want to keep it in their pockets. I am rejecting this response because:Yes it was a copy and paste message because first of all NOBODY called me after any date to discuss how it went or anything so if nobody did that why would you said that to the response? And to get a response about something that is not related to the complaint. So we can all agree that the things are being said according to them are just a bunch of lies. Second of all, ******** NEVER sent me the agreement for me to sign. When she sent me the link to sign I told her I couldn't open it and she said "its fine just sign it" I had to ask her 2 days later to send me the contract because she never did. So I think is a voidable contract right since I wasn't offered the opportunity to read and go through the entire contract and having ******** pressuring me to sign something I didn't know what I was singing. And a contract to be valid is I need to know all the elements of the contract prior to original acceptance.
And lastly nobody is trying to reach out to me and trying to resolve the problem. All they say is that there is no refund and they ignore all my emails. And when I waited to Destiny to call me on day we scheduled she never called me. I scheduled a day for ****** to call me and she never did. The mediator told me someone would call me on the day I scheduled with her and they never did. Im tired of the lies and I do want my money back. I don't want to deal with people that lie and manipulate people.

The contract from the dating service Its Just Lunch was signed on November 2022 for $2,600 for 12 dates. The company has not performed the service and voliated the terms of the contract. I went on one date then my matchmaker went **** As part of the contract I should also get a personal meeting with the matchmaker after each date for feedback and that meeting never happened after my first date. I repeatedly reached out and they finally gave me another matchmaker. No one proactively reached out to tell me my matchmaker left. This new mathmaker never consulted with me on what I was looking for. After I voiced this concern they sent me an email with another match with only pictures of the match. They were very unprofessional looking pictures that looked like they were pulled from a very bad dating website. I saved the pictures to show how unbelieveable they were. They should be embarrassed as a company to have sent them in the first place. When I tried to email them about it they did not respond. I have made several attempts to the company and was supposed to have one call with a manager who again doesn't respond to reschedule our call. I made several attempts. This should not be on me to repetitively get them to do their jobs. The signatures of the emails have no last names only first names as everyone is trying to remain anonymous. Among the many red flags this is a scam. At this point I will do everything to get my money back and will file a lawsuit. And at the very least get the word out regarding this scam. If they were not able to find me a match I would understand if they are at least trying but there is no indication that these are professionals. It doesn't seem the matchmakers are even real matchmakers. Even if this were a free service it would be a disgrace but for a service that costs $2,600 its absurd.Business Response

With that said, IJL has 36 months to provide the 12 dates.Additionally, the consumer as 12 months of hold time, 35 days of which she has used to date. I paid around $5,000 for 10 matches or 12 months of service, whichever comes first. Their matchmaking services are not personalized and I was not matched with individuals that met my most basic requests: shared values for example. I had 3 matchmakers, of whom the last one never called me to introduce herself. I asked my first matchmaker to read me my profile on what I was looking for and it was no where near what we had discussed in the sales call, who allegedly shares notes with the matchmaker. I requested a new matchmaker and I had hope shed get it right but she sent me a profile of one person who was no longer using the service. I saw him on the dating apps, and I inquired about if he received my profile through IJL. I paid $2,600 for a 12 match membership in July 2021, with It's Just Lunch. I told the matchmakers that I preferred someone who wants a family, my first matches weren't sure of wanting a family. They claimed to be making adjustments on their selection after every date, instead of getting closer to what I wanted, the matches were getting further away. The last date I had was cut short due to her having other plans, the matchmakers claim it's not their fault. They tell me they're doing all the vetting & interviewing, it's obvious they are missing too much especially lack of communication on their part. Some months ago my matchmaker offered me a match with someone who was clearly out of my age preference that I made clear from the beginning. I am clearly not getting what I paid for, especially up to date information on the next matches, and sometimes I don't hear from them in months. It's been almost 9 months since the last date they arranged, around 6/2022. I joined IJL in early January 2023 at the cost of *******. I had a pleasant face to face with **** and he provided me with a file of a gentleman he wanted me to meet. I liked the profile and according to **** he liked mine. I was disappointed that theydate was over a month away, February 18th to be exact. On February 16th I received a vm and a text from **** that the gentleman was ill and needed to reschedule. **** told me same time, same place in ********** but the following week on 2/25. I texted him back and told him that the reschedule date was fine and that I was looking very much forward to meeting ******. I noticed throughout the following week I kept receiving date follow up questions as though I had gone through with meeting ****** on the 18th and just decided that it simply was human error. I also thought I would hear from **** before the 25th, which I did not. I also was concerned that the lunch reservations had not been moved to 2/25 from 2/18 because I did not receive a message prior to the 25th with the restaurant location, meeting time and contact info like I did prior to the original meeting date of 2/18. Saturday 2/25 I made the 2 hour drive from ********* ** to ********** and arrived around 12:15 pm, just in time to find parking and meet ****** at 12:30 at the restaurant. The restaurant was very crowded but when I reached the hostess desk I was told that they did not have a reservation under ***** and ****** for that day but they did have a no-show for 2/18. I could tell they felt terrible and I felt like a complete idiot with people starring at me thinking this poor lady just got stood up. I left the restaurant and tried to call **** leaving a vm about what happened even suggesting that I was the one who got the reschedule info wrong. I asked him to please call me asap to let me know what the situation was. I roamed around market street for awhile, got a **** calorie praline and made the 2 hour trip back to Ridgeland. I was informed by its Just Lunch that they would not be giving me the complimentary date as promised. They responded that they dont recall or have on file or record of a complimentary date at all. Can The Better Business Bureau please look into my files and share with them of this message or response that they did reach back to me with this confirmation. They are claiming that they didnt give me a complimentary date on file. The Better Business Bureau did got back to me with a message stating that it was provided. Can someone diligently go back and pull this message up and share with them that they did stated that back in a response not so long ago. I recently went on a date and via policy it specifically explains that the bill would be split in half for both dates or parties. Apparently, my date didn't abide by this policy and left me to pay for all the expenses of the check. My date behaved in a very repulsive manner towards me at the end with no calls or messages back in their responses. I somewhat feel that it's just lunch is fraudulently fixing up dates for the client to go on by paying acting members of their agency to go out on dates with the client that spends their money in membership. I want a full reimbursement for the date that I covered the entire check for via policy breach from my date. I already spoke to my date matchmaker ****** about the situation but he seems to be rather unconcerned and careless in handling the situation by not responding to me since then. This agency is far beyond unprofessional, they are lowlife and mediocre in their services to people or customers.
