I hired the following company to install Soffit and Fascia at my new construction home at *************:ACES ROOFING & CONSTRUCTION LLC.************************* (LIC #: CCC1333887)***********************************************************-47. ***************, ** ***** As requested, I paid 50% deposit ($1,506.75) on Sept 23, 2022 for installation of Soffit and Fascia at my new construction house at ********************************************. Contractor said that he will not perform the work because prices have increased and did not return the deposit back to me. I hired another company to complete this job for a total of $4,060.00. ACES ROOFING did not return my money back and did not perform on the contract. As a result, this job cost me a total of $5,566.75, an increase of $2,553.25 that I would like to get back from the Company.

    Business Response

    Date: 02/11/2023

This response was taken verbally by BBB:

This customer is a contractor. He hired ** as a sub-contractor. When he first hired **, he had showed ** an alleged quote he had from another company to have ** match it. We later found out that this wasn't a real quote. We did receive a deposit and we performed some of the work (installing J-channels). There was no signed contract. When the dispute arose regarding the cost of the project, after we found out the quote was false, we decided to part ways. We returned the balance of the deposit less an amount for the work we completed.

I am rejecting this response because:

Whether we are able to successfully resolve our dispute, I want to ensure that the details provided are factual. I am deeply disturbed by his response because its entirely untrue, but thankfully I have proof of it I would encourage you to request proof from him as well.

With respect to the comment about my quote being fake:

On Sept 16, 2022: I had reached out to Southern ******************* **** via e-mail to request a quote for soffit and fascia install at my new construction home. This company is rated A+ with the Better Business ***** and has been in business for many years (I believe around 17 years). On Sept 19, ***************************** responded to my email with a price of $3,013.50 for Aluminum channel, soffit & 6" fascia included.  Colors are white or bronze. I do not know ***************************** personally and our only form of communication has been via e-mail (which I am attaching as proof every e-mail is there and time stamped and the quote provided by *************************** is there precisely as I had shown to Aces Roofing & Construction LLC). I encourage you to reach out to the company to verify that what I am saying is 100% accurate.

On Sept 20, 2022: I had reached out to Aces Roofing & Construction LLC as a result of a referral from my GC, ****************************************. ******** suggested that we give this company a chance and that they might provide better pricing (I am more than happy to provide ********* contact information to you if you wish to verify my statements). I have not worked with either company in the past, and decided to get a second quote from Aces Roofing as well. Please find attached a screenshot of my early communication via text with Aces Roofing **** provided me with a price of $4,660 for the same job as Southern ******************* **** priced out at $3,013.50. I simply thanked **** for the quote and said that it is somewhat higher than the pricing I received. Please note that I did not ask him to beat the price nor match it as I was ready to move forward with Southern ******************* **** However, **** then asked me for the pricing I received and I sent him the exact screenshot of it. Please take a look at the text messages we exchanged as proof. **** then said Im not going to lie thats a really good price, to which I responded, I appreciate your honesty and time!!. Again, at no point did I ask him to beat or match this price. This was ***** next response: I mean since you partnered with ******* the best we can do is match it, in hopes of a long relationship doing work together, to which I responded Absolutely.

Since ***** argument is based on my quote being false, I kindly ask that you review the documentation I have submitted with this response and encourage you to call *****************************  from  Southern ******************* **** to verify whether our e-mail communication took place.Again, I do not know ***************************** and have never spoken or done business with him or Southern ******************* **** Moreover, even if my quote was false, at no point did I request Aces Roofing & Construction LLC to beat or match that quote.

With respect to the comment about returning the balance of the deposit less an amount for the work they completed:

On Jan 10, 2023: The last message received from **** states: And now your threatening my license over a small $1500 were $500 was spent on material and $500 on labor to install j channel remaining balance of $500 I do hope your attorney contacts me directly you are very goofy for this. I can confirm that Aces Roofing & Construction LLC never returned a ***** to me. Please obtain any proof from them of this statement, as nearly all our communication has been via text messages. While he said that he would return some of the money to me, he never did, and I am attaching a copy of our last communication. Again, please obtain any form of proof that would satisfy you (a bank statement? a text message? an e-mail? Zelle confirmation? Any other possible form of confirmation/proof?) where you can see a refund made to me or my company (of any amount at all) there was none, not a *****. Im not sure to what extent you request some confirmation/evidence, but I have provided you with substantial proof that **** has been entirely dishonest.

    Sincerely,

    *************************************
