I left a pair of shoes and paid Solemate Shoe Repair $104.03 on Nov 18th. They said they would be finished before Thanksgiving. I called them numerous times after Thanksgiving and nobody picked up or returned my calls. I also drove over to the store which is a one hour round trip three times when it said it would be open and the store was closed. I then sent a threatening email on December 8th saying that I was going to the authorities about their crooked business and I received a call back from them saying my shoes wouldve done by the end of the week. I havent heard again and have tried contacting them and have not been able to reach them, What should I do? **** ******Initial Complaint

April 11, 2024, I left two BRAND NEW pair of shoes with Solemate shoe repair to have velcro extend the arch straps. After numerous phone calls, text messages and visits to the store, the owner is now telling me he can't find my shoes even though I brought the invoice of the purchased shoes with pictures. I need help getting the money back I paid for the repairs and cost of the shoes he lost in his shop.Initial Complaint

He won't give me my shoes back. I dropped them off 11/24/2023 and paid $60.23 up front. He has had so many excuses and now says he can't find them. I have been waiting for over a year. I want my shoes and my money back. Please let me know what steps I can take to get my shoes back.Initial Complaint

Went to Solemate Shoe Repair on June 13, 2023. Paid $54.75 to have my black Brighton sandals repaired. There were to be done by 7/7/23 so I went to the shop and the Owner was in the Hospotal. Checked in a few months later and still sick. Went in on 5/5/24 and was told my sandals are fixed and I would get a call to pick them up. Never got a call. Went back on 6/4/24 and he said they may be in his storage if they lost their tag so he would look into and get back to me. No return phone call. Stopped by on 7/16/24 and there was a note on the door that he is sick again. I just want my money back at this point.Initial Complaint

On 1/27/24 dropped off a pair of ************** boots for repair, and prepaid the amount. Was supposed to be done by 2/9/24. I still do not have the boots. Many visits to the store (closed) messages of delay/illness on phone answering machine, and upon the few times of making Text contact, empty promises of repair. I put a stop payment on the credit card months ago, Left desperate messages that could I please just pick up my boots. They are a $250.00 pair of boots, I just want them back, I will get them repaired elsewhere.Initial Complaint

On July 25, 2023, I dropped off a pair of sandals (to replace inside soul) & a purse (to add a magnet to close) at the Soulmate Shoe Repair in ***************, **. I was told I had to prepay the $60.23 it would cost to fix my items so I did. I needed those items for a trip I was taking in September. To this day, I still do not have my property. So now they have my ************* money. I have been back to this store at least 15 ****** **** husband went about 4 times. At first they said my items werent ready because the owner was sick & kept having to close the shop to go for cancer treatments. Then they said they were backlogged because they were new owners. The few times that someone was in the shop, they told me they would get my items done right away & I could come back in a couple days. When I went back (almost every time), the shop would be closed & a note would on the door to text them. Well I did *********** didnt respond. Each time, I ran into other people trying to pick up their ********** all had the same story. I feel like this was a scam the whole time & all I want at this point is to get my property back. I have sent a text telling them that they can call me anytime & I will be there to get my items, but nothing. I hope that you will be able to shut this deceitful & fraudulent business down once & for all.& at the same time, please call all the customers so that we may at least get our property back. On 04 May 2023, I gave Sole Mate an expensive (Florsheim Royal Imperials) pair of shoes to repair. I prepaid for the repair. My check # **** cleared my bank on 16 May 2023. The store still has my shoes and any attempt to contact them results in failure. If you stop at the store the door is locked and a sign says to call them. When you call, the answering machine says to text them. All contacts have resulted in the store not returning my calls or texts.Initial Complaint

On May 10, 2023 I took 3 pairs of shoes into Solemate to have them repaired. The claim ticket stated they should be ready June 9, 2023. Since then I have been trying to find out about my shoes, either picking up completed shoes or picking up my unrepaired shoes and getting a refund. I have not received any type of a response since Oct. 9 when all I got was excuses, I have the text messages sent back and forth. I was trying to help a small local company but now I just want my property back fixed or my property and my refund of $71.17 that I had to pay when I dropped off my shoes.Initial Complaint

I took 4 pairs of shoes for repair to Shoulmate Shoe Repair. I have stopped by many times for the status of my order. Each time there was an excuse such as they ran out of needles for the sewing machine, Velcro defective, etc. This past month they have the doors locked and requesting communications via text. I have sent numerous texts asking for my shoes to be returned. I have prepaid $94 back in April.Initial Complaint

I dropped my shoe off on September 14 to have a strap fixed. They promised it will be done on October 31. I paid, upfront $21.90, for the repair. Since October 31, I have tried to call, text and go to the store. They said they will have to try to find my shoe and will text me back. That was six days ago and I cant get a response to where my shoe is and why it isnt done. When you go to their store its locked up and have the windows completely covered and wont let you in. All I want is my shoe back and my money refunded .
