We paid a 100% in writing refundable deposit to purchase a 2015 2 door ****. After seeing one locally, we decided that it would not fit our needs for the future. Within a few days we canceled the purchase and notified the salesman. The owner claimed he returned the deposit via Zelle, however my bank never received the funds. ***** ******************* must have either canceled the refund or sent it to another ***********************. He refuses to assist by providing the telephone number which ***** used to follow the transfers. I truly think he canceled the transfer.Initial Complaint

The issue is Mint Motors is not providing a second key to the 2020 **** Transit 250 we purchased from them. On 7/5/23 ************************* and I emailed back and forth discussing this van. I had emailed questions asking him to confirm several things about the van including if it has 2 keys. On 7/6/23 ******************** emailed his response to these questions with his response to the question of the van having 2 keys he wrote, "1 key, I can have second made if needed". ******************** and I spoke and emailed and confirmed I would purchase the van. This was based upon 2 keys being provided. On Friday, 7/7/23 I placed a $2,000.00 deposit on the van by credit card and received receipt ***** for it. On Monday, 7/10/23 ******************** emailed instructions to me to wire the balance due, which I did. When the van arrived there was not a second key and the delivery person had no knowledge of one. I called ******************** who stated it would be sent with the Title. Upon arrival of the Title there was not a 2nd key. After a phone call or two over time requesting the status of the second key without a response. I sent ******************** an email on 9/8/23 requesting the status of it. He emailed on 9/11/23, "Hello **** ** the van had second key it would have been in cup holder when it arrived to you. I will check and see on our keyboard if there's one but I doubt it." Total lack of acknowledging his commitment to the 2nd key, thus passively denying his commitment to provide 2 keys at the time of agreeing to purchase the van and my previous inquires. On 9/12/23 I inquired again by email and attached the email thread which included his 7/7/23 response of our 2nd key discussion. I emailed back reviewing the key being a condition of ************** acceptance of that and my inquires for the key since then. I again inquired when the key would be coming. Have heard nothing.Business Response

Wfter we received the BBB complaint about days ago we called him and told him to go ahead and get they key remade at a **** dealership.
We will reimburse him after he goes to the dealership; we are even willing to do this over the phone with a card while he is there.
He needs to be the one to go to the dealership, we cannot go for him. This was explained multiple times.

I made a purchase of a 2011 BMW Z4 from Mint Motors on April 8, 2022 which came with a 90 day 50/50 warranty (the dealer pays 50% of parts and labor for engine, drivetrain, transmission repairs). Shortly after purchase my vehicle had a poor running condition and poor fuel economy. I emailed Mint Motors about the warranty I have and how to start a claim, to which it was responded to with the words 'please read' with the warranty (with my name on it) attached. The car was brought to the BMW Tampa dealer for the spark plugs to be replaced where I was told the fuel injectors are leaking and I was provided an estimate of $4337.99. This information was forwarded to Mint Motors, they did not respond. The car ran even worse after this work and was brought back to BMW of Tampa who ran further diagnostic and provide me a Drivability Concern work order saying verbatim 'highly recommend to address the fuel injectors leaking as soon as possible as it will cause other components to fail if it continues to leak fuel.' This and all of the finding from the diagnostics were forwarded to Mint Motors for review. Mint Motors chose to not respond. I have made a total of eight emails to Mint Motors to which the only responded to the first saying 'please read'. They have been provided all documents showing what was done. The car had to be repaired as it was LEAKING FUEL and it could cause further damage, and because Mint Motors has chosen to not respond to seven emails. These emails were also sent to another email address and all were received. On May 27, 2022 the car was repaired for significantly less that the initial estimate totaling $2776.80 for which I am asking for half ($1388.40) as per the 50/50 warranty proved by Mint Motors with my vehicle purchase on April 8, 2022. This has been forwarded to Mint Motors on along with everything else, including pictures of the spark plugs, on May 31, 2022.Business Response

Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2022/06/08) */ Mr. ****** has escalated this case to try to force Mint Motors to pay for repairs that he made to his vehicle. These repairs were not covered items with his warranty that was provided at time of purchase. Fuel injectors are not a covered item. In addition the warranty is very specific. Any repairs authorized without prior consent of Mint Motors will not be covered. In addition any repairs to be completed under the warranty terms must be completed at a approved authorized mechanic of Mint Motors choosing. This is to ensure that covered warranty item repairs are done at industry pricing. No retail pricing. Which saves consumer and Mint Motors money. Mr. ****** not only had repairs completed that weren't part of the warranty. He also went to a shop not authorized my Mint Motors. Mr. ****** was offered an additional warranty at time of purchase that would have covered the items that he had repaired. HE DECLINED TO PURCHASE this extended warranty. This was his choice. As was his decisions to fix his vehicle. Mr. ****** has made multiple allegations that were exaggerated lies to defame Mint Motors. If these accusations continue Mint Motors will be contacting counsel for civil litigation to ensue due to the outright unfactual information he continues to speak of. Consumer Response /* (3000, 7, 2022/06/08) */ (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.) In addition to the warranty provided by Mint Motors upon purchase of my vehicle, I signed a different document stating 'I understand no verbal agreements will be honored by dealer.' With that said, the best way to communicate on a matter such as this is in writing/email so that either party/both parties can show proof. Worthy of mention I have tried calling and owner Mark H. who seems to never be there on that day, except for the day after the last email, after the car had been repaired out of necessity and safety. Also worthy of mention, I have email correspondence from Sales Manager Dave saying verbatim 'sorry for the confusion and not getting back to you in a timely manner' 5.6.2022 from a previous issue where communication was extremely difficult. I emailed Mint Motors six times prior to the repair to which none of them were responded to (excuse me, one was saying 'please read' with my warranty attached), nothing saying covered or not covered items. No response at all. One was sent the day the vehicle was in the shop that was also not responded to at all. The eighth email was sent four days after the car had been repaired (5.31.2022) and was responded to in less than one hour - sent 150pm, responded to 248pm. In this response from Mint Motors, it is not signed and whomever wrote it went off on a tangent that has/had almost nothing to do with topic of the warranty. Nor did it say anything about the parts that had to be replaced not being a covered item. There are no documents provided to me, since the initial email on 5.20.2022 saying anything about the items in question not being covered, but page two does list an 'leaking fuel' as an example of 'what major defects may occur in a used motor vehicle'. I have all the emails printed as proof. Because this car was leaking fuel, should not be sold in this condition much less driven (especially 150 miles to Mint Motors from my home), because it was unsafe, because it could further damage the car, because Mint Motors failed to sell me the car having all the maintenance performed as promised (please see check for $175 titled OIL CHANGE REIMBURSEMENT), and because Mint Motors made the conscious decision to not communicate with me, I was left no choice but to fix the car at a substantially reduced price than the dealership. The extended warranty has nothing to do with this as it the car is still in the 90 day warranty provided. There is nothing written by me to defame Mint Motors so I am not sure why that was said in the response. I see that it was not signed by the writer of the response. I implore Mint Motors to contact counsel. I respectfully request you do so and have them view the attachments I have sent you to let you know that what I am saying it not only true, but that my reasoning and claim is very, very fair. I think this matter is best suited for a Court of Law which I will be moving forward with. The request amount in my claim is very, very fair for having been sold a car that was leaking fuel and had to be repaired apx 700 miles after service more than once is documented by a manufacturers dealership and will be published on any and all public forums that will allow it in the form of a review if this is not settled.
