An internet listing (ad) lead me to this dealership. After being assigned to a sales representative named *****, and after several days of discussion about the condition of the vehicle, we agreed upon a purchase price. I paid to have a private inspection of the vehicle. Upon receiving the inspection report, the condition of the vehicle was significantly different than ***** represented. I informed ***** of the issues, asked that they be addressed, he refused. I asked for to be reimbursed for the cost of the report and he refused. As a result of his deceptive trade practices, I have been defrauded out of the cost of the inspection report and I demand the company send a check to me in the amount of the inspection to relegate my loss. I will also be reporting this issue to the Attorney General of **.

    Business Response

    Good morning!

We had listed online a 2006 Lexus Rx350 for under $11,000. Because of the age and miles of such a vehicle, we priced it at that aggressive price to ***************.

Sure enough, the leads poured in, including ************** who expressed interest. We got more aggressive by discounted the vehicle $ 1,500.00

The vehicle passed all safety inspections from our service department and was being sold "AS IS" with " NO WARRANTY".

We held the vehicle for the client with no deposit for 7 days until  a third party inspector hired by the client showed up to inspect the vehicle.

The dealership never saw the report. We then received a call from the client stating that he'll pass.

We sold the vehicle then at the full price to another client.

The client did his due diligence and made a decision not to proceed. We have all records of our safety inspections and the vehicle passed.

We don't understand why we should pay for the client's inspection, since we have already done ours.

Please let me know if you need any additional information.

I am rejecting this response because:

The responding party is mistaken in a number of their assertions. The sales price and who ultimately bought the vehicle and what they paid are completely meaningless to my complaint.

My decision to purchase an inspection was made after representations from the dealers salesperson, that there was nothing wrong with the car beyond a few cosmetic items on the item.  I was told in writing that there were no mechanical issues yet the inspection report revealed there were numerous issues, the largest among them was an inoperable sunroof.

Either the dealers sales team is irresponsible, incompetent, or fraudulent. I spent money on the inspection of a vehicle that was not in the same condition as described. I should be made whole.

    Sincerely,

    *********************

I placed an order for a new 2023 range rover in october 2021 with ********************. I continued to follow up over the course of the past year. In November 2022, I received an email from my sales rep stating that my car would arrive in December 2022. I inquired asking some basic information; detials of the build such as options and also the ***** I was continually ignored by ******. I contacted the ******************* and was told that he would look into this and get back to me. He never did and has since ignored all emails, calls, texts. I now received a text from ****** stating they cant locate my order. This dealership is running a scam where they accept orders for this highly in demand vehicle and then try to persuade customers to not take delivery so they can turn around and sell the vehicle for $5-100k over sticker price.
